  • Here is our first of two episodes on our 79 series landcruiser touring upgrades.
In this episode we replace the exhaust and shock absorbers to make the cruiser look and ride better. Our shocks we replaced were on the cruiser when we bought it at 70000kms and the cruiser now has 150000kms on it so we thought it was a good idea to replace them. The exhaust was rusted and we took the opportunity to replace it while we had the chance and we were not looking for sound or anything just replacing the rusted one.
We hope you enjoyed this episode and look forward to sharing episode two with you and then hopefully we back on the road in our updated setup.

Good job, I probably would have replaced the bolts for suspension and kept the old ones as back up, now you have upgraded the exhaust probably look at a hi flow air filter then a remap, I know money doesn't grow on trees, but I don't think you would regret it.

    • @justvanningit

At least with a quality shock you can get rebuilt every 80k or so so you do not need to replace all the time!
As for the exhaust … best thing is the DPF (delete) and use the hi flo GSL 🥳

2K for an exhaust......??? GSL do do deals for youtube content providers. Still, getting under the car and doing shocks and exhaust will familiarise yourself with everything else under there. Just make sure you re torque everything again after another couple of months....well done.

Its always good to do these things ya self, but it's never a 5min job, some of the simplest jobs often take way longer than ya think. Anti seize for future!, prep prep prep!
Problem with instructions today, they are written by engineers, not actual people who work on the vehicles!

Imagine owning a 79 series with that canopy and worrying about how it looks. Then dropping 2k on a staino exhaust cuz the old one was rusty.
