My most favorite memories of Brazil are stopping at the roadside stands in the villages and sitting down for a couple of coxinhas and a bottle of Guarana. O Brasil e o povo brasileiro estarão para sempre no meu coração. Eu amo todos vocês. ❤
I used to live in Brazil until I was seven years old.,then we moved to England. I love Brazilian food. We used to have a cook in Rio who made Coxinhas. She used to stick a small chicken bone in the pointed end so that it looked like a chicken leg. I haven't eaten them since then. I have visited Brazil again twice but never had Coxinhas again. I am going to try making them.
I have to try to make these myself! I was an exchange student in Brazil for a year when I was in high school and I lived off of these! Lol I think I probably ate one every day I was there. Awww now I miss Brazilian food…specially their barbecue 🥲
Thank you for this video. I lived in Brazil for a few years. I am back in the US and my husband is brazilian so these are very much missed in our household. I will try and make these.
I made these and they were so delicious! The chicken filling was so tasty, the celery and tomatoes give such nice flavour. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe!
lol. Brazil is a country where there's some "ethnic groups smooth". So, you will see many ugly dudes too. But in fact, our miscegenation makes us a beautiful people.
Just made this for the first time ever (using this video) they come out beautiful thank you!🤗 🤔but...the shape wasn't quite there 😊 practice makes perfect so they say..yum😋
Thank you again for uploading this video Florida USA 😊 it's what you call in English is a ladle I do not know the Brazilian word for it ? lol looks great 👍
before or after cooking? if it was before you probably added a little bit to much flour. if it was after cooking probably too thick/ or not enough time to fry
I tried this recipe and the filling was fantastic but my dough was undercooked inside. Outside was nice and crunchy but the inside was almost raw. What did I do wrong?
@@Brazilian.Kitchen I made them smaller, pressed the dough thinner, and lowered the oil temperature. They were fantastic! A huge hit with everyone, thank you so much and Happy Better New Year!
I really would like to try this ever since I fell in love with them in Portugal! But do you have an idea in how to replace the catupiry? Would be mixing some cream cheese with sliced cheese a good idea?
You can just use the cream cheese by itself. I've had a few coxinhas back in Brazil that use cream cheese instead of catupiry and the result is good although less creamy. Let us know how it turned out with catupiry if you end up trying it (:
If your local grocery store has it, you can sometimes get Whipped cream cheese which is very airy and mix it into the filling like he did with the catupiry. This keeps it creamy and easy to work with.
Acredito que oficialmente seja "Ladle", mas acho que algumas pessoas adaptam. Certa vez uma estadunidense me disse que chamava de "scoop" ("scoop" seria na realidade o que se usa para fazer as bolas de sorvete).
@@Brazilian.Kitchen Hmm, I have never used or seen it used in this context. 🤔 By the way, the recipe looks delish. I saw the Americanized version of it and then searched for an authentic Brazilian recipe and found yours. 😀

Hi Anastasia, the measurements are in the description. Except for the dough, the measurements don't have to be exact so if you have a larger or smaller onion than the one we used it won't make such a difference. Does that make sense?

how long do you cook the flour+broth typically? Mine always seems very sticky

Se chama strogonoff com batata palha.

I often struggle with the dough, typically I get that raw flour taste or the dough is so sticky I can't mold it or shape it. Any tips?
Então você deve estar retirando a massa antes de está completamente cozida. Se esta muito pegajosa talvez falte um pouco de farinha de trigo.
You never said what are spices for the filling, you also did not list them. Is it salt and pepper only?

I haven’t made these in a long time! I’m In the U.K. what other cheese could I used as the Brazilian shops don’t have this here ??
Hi Alex, I think the closest cheese to catupiry would be cream cheese. When it's warm it will be softer and close-ish in texture.
@@Brazilian.Kitchen thank you!
That cheese is uber expensive!
