Hey. It's been a minute. This video isn't what you're used to, and I want to explain. I'm phasing away from high production quality, overly edited thinkpieces that take 1-2 weeks to make at a time and more towards pure volume for now. There's a lot I want to talk about with Into The Light, with Destiny 2 in general and I feel like I'm just hurting myself by not making more stuff. I'd like to connect more with all of you and hear your thoughts. And in doing so, I'm going to be making stuff that's far more raw, far more off-the-cuff and probably a little less refined. I'll get better at this over time, but I'm committed to this direction to see where it takes me. Thanks for reading this and watching the vid.
Could you still throw on a suit jacket like you did for the awards show every once in a while? You kind of bring a sense of class to the Destiny tubers.
Your biggest strength is the scripted stuff. I personally don't like stream clips re-uploaded to youtube. I understand the YT algo game and why it's necessary, but if you feel the need to put out tons of off the cuff content for now, then fine, I get it, but you should return to the high quality longform stuff eventually.
I saw you posted a video and I clicked. Your quality is consistently very high, no matter the type of video. I would still consider this a high quality video, just of a different style. I hope the longer, higher production time, videos don't go away completely, but I will continue to watch either way.
I’ve been keeping track of my Elsie drops for shits and giggles, I’ve had terrible luck with 84 drops and nothing that I wanted…until today. Three drops in a row, two 5/5 pvp rolls and one shiny with a 5/5 for pve and pvp. I was stunned.
@@StrawberrySinju hard to enjoy a grind when I know I have to get what I want to drop 100 times to get the roll I want, and bold to continue calling it a looter shooter, it is more of a shooter looter. Games far too stingy with weapon drops, hell the game can pass for barbie dress up, destiny 2 is trying to be 3 games at once. Still grinding, still getting nothing, I passed out in my chair because I wanted one shiny to drop, crazy you say I should enjoy such a grind.
@@terrelldurocher3330 crazy that you say all that when I have gotten a god roll of the recluse, Elsie's rifle, and edge transit and I have ran 2 onslaughts and spent 80 tokens, and 2 of the 3 rolls were 5/5's
Quick note about Elsie's Rifle: you can't forget about deterministic recoil. ER's recoil is HEAVILY to the left even with a recoil stat of 100. You're better off getting 83 to even out the left kick, so go with Extended Barrel or Chambered Compensator, both with a handling masterwork. Both will negate the handling penalty and will free up your mod slot for whatever you choose. Edit: to illustrate what I mean, watch CoolGuy's video on Elsie's Rifle. Around the 4 minute mark. He shows off the recoil and 83 is slightly more grouped together than 88/98/100. 100 is debatable, but with the barrel/masterwork combo above your mod slot is still free for another mod.
Arrowhead is almost the same and doesn't waste stats and you can slap on targeting to further increase the aim assist or Icarus for float lock. Arrowhead is the play 110%.

I’d like to shout out the combination of Repulsor Brace + Adrenaline Junkie. Outside of Gyrfalcon, killing an enemy with a grenade with the right Fragment equipped is main way of getting Volatile Rounds. The Origin trait is a mini Demolitionist or Pugilist. Getting a Grenade kill procs Adrenaline Junkie x5 and Volatile Rounds, then getting a kill with Volatile Rounds procs Repulsor Brace, and getting kills recharges your grenade to restart the whole process.
@@damazsta Yeah, you'll instantly go to x5 from a grenade kill or can work your way up with weapon kills. Desperate Measures requires ability kills to get max damage.
High Cal and Armor Piercing are also really strong in PVE on a pulse like this. I'd honestly take that over flared magwell. Especially if you're running Feeding frenzy.
This went from "eh could be better" when it was first dropped in that Into the Light stream to "oh my god I need every roll" and I could not be happier
Like others have probably mentioned by now, Extended Barrel and Chambered Compensator are by far the best barrel options because of deterministic recoil. The deterministic recoil on Elsie's pulls it to the left, and the only way to neutralize this is to have recoil pull it to the right. This can only be achieved by having either of the aforementioned barrels. Higher recoil direction does help with the grouping of shots (which is abysmal at 73) and at 83 the gun becomes incredibly precise.
i think the reason it ended up like this is because its statistically identical to ntte, fluted and a range masterwork (no accurized rounds) gets you to literally the same stats with 6 more in the mag on top and then you can add even more with mag and the 2 perk slots
Everyone was dismissing Elsie's in favor of Blast Furnace...I knew from looking at it that Elsie's was going to be nice. Plus, you can lean into subclass synergy with Elsie's.
Zen Moment doesn’t add any actual stability at all, so it doesn’t reduce the vertical spacing between bullets. It just reduces the reticle bounce and visible weapon shaking which, combined with its reduced flinch, makes it easier to stay on target. The old description for Zen Moment mentioned stability, so a while back Bungie updated the description to reflect exactly what the perk does. They also directly clarified that the perk has zero impact on the stability stat.

I have one with Arrowhead, Armor-piercing, Zen moment and Desp Measures and it absolutely BANGS on almost every PvP map (and does great in Onslaught). It's definitely the best pulse out there

Repulser + Desperate is Coolguy's Recluse roll for pve, the pairing with either Gyrfalcons or the echo that gives volatile rounds on grenade kills + the origin trait goes *very* hard alongside Devour.
i am going to have Elsie’s rifle atunes until i get my perfect roll. The rest of the weapons have decent competition but this pulse is just so far ahead of any of the other options it is nuts. Plus in pvp it lets me still use my favorite shotguns. Messenger is great but it competes with so many great special weapons for me. I have gotten one shiny with none of the perks i want though. so i will be grinding a lot the next 2 months.
That’s precisely what I’m doing. I’ll keep Elsie’s Rifle attuned until I acquire the Headseeker, Kill Clip, Desperado, and Desperate Measures god roll. It’s not every day we come across a phenomenal Pulse Rifle like this, so why not go all in if you’re a Pulse Rifle enthusiast?
I had a random shiney drop from the chest next to Shaxx. Hammer-Forged, Ricochet Rounds, Rewind Rounds, Destabilising Rounds, Range MW. The other 2 Perks were Adrenaline Junkie & I cant remember the other off the top of my head 😄 After using it on my Gyrfalcons Build? Literally just what I had equipped at the time & thought "yeah, that'll be fun!" I absolutely want a Repulsor Brace x Destabilising Rounds one with maybe a Stability MW as the Range is really good as is! Very surprised by how damn good it felt! I was gunna go for Zen x Headseeker for PVP but now I've added another roll to chase totally by chance 😑😄
Was about to give up shiny hunting one of these, then last run before bed i got Arrowhead, High cal, Zen Moment, Headseeker, stab mw. I couldnt believe it. I swear that happens everytime
Question for you Nomad, if your ideal PvP roll would include Hammer Forged + Handling MW & a Counterbalance mod, why? I get what you mean with it not really needing Arrowhead with Zen Moment, but Arrowhead + Range MW gives you the same stats as Hammer-Forged + Handling MW, but also maxes out your recoil even better than a Counterbalance mod would, and also frees up your mod slot to slap on something else, like a targeting adjuster for example. Either works obviously, but Arrowhead + Range is objectively better than Hammer-Forged + Handling, so it just seems weird to chase the latter. Though this is obviously nitpicking a fairly small error, and as always your analysis is on point & insightful. This is absolutely the #1 chase for PvP, and is also super solid for PvE builds as well, so even as a PvE main it's probably going to be my second or third weapon to chase, after Mountaintop & maybe Edge Transit.
The problem with this gun for me is that I need the 5/5 godroll for it to compete with my uniquely potent and unobtainable Messenger godroll. I have a stat monster of a messenger with Zen Moment + Celerity. 5/5 perfect with that perk combo makes its stat package not just competitive with Elsie's Rifle, but straight up better than anything less than a 5/5 on Elsie's - and the reason to not want my roll on messenger is for Headseeker, and on messenger, i wasn't willing to sacrifice that handling and reload for it because of how fast it feels with them. Making the handling and reload so high on this archetype fixes the reason I hate it normally, its why I'd never use Stars and Shadow without Surplus. But elsie's rifle? it has those stats BUILT-IN. And it can get zen + headseeker - and messenger can't get zen moment anymore! So... do I WANT to get this gun? yes. But I need THE godroll. The perfect roll. The 5/5. Until then, it literally can't replace my messenger - nor can any messenger ever even dream of it. But if I get that perfect stat roll Zen + Headseeker drop... this thing will be a mainstay option for me, when i feel like running a pulse. edit: The exact messenger stat monster that I have is Fluted + Ricochet Rounds + Range MW + Zen Moment + Celerity, placing it a whopping 58 reload, 66 handling, 69 stability, and 81 range with an extra-juiced version of Alacrity built in despite the lack of an origin perk AND zen moment making it a laser that just ignores all flinch outright. I've used it even back when desperado was broken over any and all other high-impact pulses i've ever gotten, because it just feels so fast, so smooth, so pristine, in a way that no other high-impact pulse ever really has for me. Elsie's rifle has the stats to pull that off too.
I'll be keeping a few of these. The full roll I want is Arrowhead, Flared or Appended, Repulsor Brace and Destabilising Rounds, and either a Stability or Reload masterwork - I think with Flared and the masterwork it gets to a 1.5ish sec reload, it's daft I have two with Repulsor Brace and Frenzy, I'm quite fond of that combo on Hunter since Gyrfalcon's Hauberk doesn't need the help of Destabilising Rounds
Im so sad that I got all my shinys pvp and pve god rolls for all brave weapons, BUT missed the PVP godroll, have a zen+ kill clip but no headseeker :(. At least got it in regular version though
I'm normally not a master of 340s in the Crucible but I got a roll with like 85 reload, Zen Moment, and Desperado. The snappy load into Desperado makes it feel so much better than it did on Messenger. Now for a PvE roll...
No one ever talks about it, but PC vs Console Destiny is a different game. Not M&K vs controller. On PC all guns are more stable and work slightly differently M&K or not. Like +50 o stability for everything.
ER is very good and it will get even better later. However it has a different feeling than Messenger, maybe Osiris put some of his magic in the weapon. Still prefer Messenger for pvp (mine has better range) but Elsie wins clearly on the pve side. But hey, very soon we'll get a +40 meter Blast Furnace with mouthwatering perks. I just dont know why they'd make this random thing power creep messenger trials weapons should absolutely be outliers in their archetypes esp for pvp like how igneous is (though other 120s need their stats buffed since they are trash)

I'm honestly glad that Bungie finally let the sandbox team back into the kitchen. It's about time, and IMO Nomad is the Gordon Ramsey of weapon reviews, and it's about time we got some good godsdamned food.
The only downside of Elsies Rifle, in pvp, is that blast furnace is going to be coming out; And for pve, Word of Crota (and many others) already exists with those good rolls.
I got a hammer forge, ricochet, zen, and frenzy roll 😭 so close to a god roll. I will say tho frenzy on 6v6 works wonders. No so much for competitive but it go hard in pubs especially since 6v6 pubs tends to have longer engages than comp
Def want that repulser brace disabilizing rounds role for pve. Have it on my title and recluse. Suchs a powerfull combo. Specially on warlock with void soul
I had no interest in this gun or PvE pulses in general when it came out, but after getting a lucky shiny drop w/ rewind+desperate measures I tried it out just for fun and it's become my go-to energy primary. Idk how to describe it other than it just feels amazing.
I don't feel great about spending pattern extractors on phyllotactic a couple months ago...but I grabbed the elsie's I wanted so it doesn't feel THAT bad.
I have a shiny with an extended barrel, ricochet rounds, keep away, rewind, kill clip, head seeker, and a stability mw. This thing feels like an exotic. It's that good.
So why not fluted with a range masterwork for 5 more stability and handling with the same range? You weren't kidding with phasing away from high production quality huh.
Glad i got a shiny with zen moment and kill clip/headseeker. Gonna try and get a desperate measure roll but i got frenzy roll for pve, sucks it has feeding frenzy.
My PVE roll is full bore, ricochet rounds, rewind rounds and adrenaline junkie. One grenade and the gun turns into a laser…still trying to find that zen moment, headseeker for pvp
got fluted/chambered + hi cal + zen + headseeker I had a hunch it would be good without arrowhead, and it is just silly how this feels and executes in pvp.
I got the shiny my first run lol it has hammer forged ricochet rounds range masterwork zen moment, underover, headseeker, kill clip I have godrolls of all the other high impacts including adept messenger and this feels better even better than my godroll relentless plus I can use my crutch Bungie seems to not nerf more conditioned I currently have 20k crucible kills on conditioned so you cannot tell me it isn't a crutch 😂
I believe Elisies is the best PvP primary in the game. I think we’re in an Elsie’s meta and people just don’t know yet. You can get hyyyper agressive with this thing if you get the handling stat right
i never played Onslaught when it was the seasonal activity but i've been grinding it this season and i finally got a good roll and this gun rocks. i just had one of my biggest kills games in crucible with it
I don't wanna be that guy, but your pvp god role is just straight up a down grade compared to another role. You can get the exact same stats while also getting 100 recoil direction if you use arrow head and a range master work. aside from that good vid
It's honestly kinda overwhelming how good the brave weapons have been. Say what you will about a few of the chosen inclusions but zero bad weapons is a hell of a result.

Is very very hard to make a Destiny show not even Bungie knows the Lore very well and they strive on not bringing the Lore to the game for God sakes without Meilin or Byf we would not be aware of half of the stuff going on, and in top of that Bungie has done several re hearings and don't even bother to explain it on the Lore they just change it, so to make the show would be a struggle big time, and a live action is a horrible idea or a movie even worst idea, just saying.
I have your godroll. Well almost. I have corkscrew and a range mw. But holy sh*t this thing is the most consistent two burst I have ever seen on a pulse.
Funny thing I came across while looking at Relentless for PvP as well, Messenger is a stat monster, but not entirely where it counts. Relentless has vastly better base recoil and higher base aim assist. I find this to make it far more consistent.
This was my favourite pulse in OG Destiny and I was worried about it just being nostalgia but damn it feels like it is better. Odd out of all the weapons in Into the Light that hit so far and now gotta figure out the rolls I want. Watching with interest
even with 100 recoil direction this recoil doesn't go straight to the up it goes to the left side to have optimal recoil direction you need to have 83 RD so it goes to the right a lill bit which is lot easier to control. just for the tip go for extended barrel.
Oh, Bungie. Another OP gun to pair with that nonsense prismatic crap you've got lined up for us. Game has never shown how bereft of ideas it is and how solidly it lacks any commitment or respect to it's players' time. I mean why grind for anything when you know around the corner Bungie will just throw broken nonsense into the mosh pit? This gun is the nail in the coffin for my time in Destiny.
I currently have the zen/headseeker roll but i'm after, what i would consider god tier, an under-over and kill clip roll. In PVP with over-shields galore UO feels criminally slept on.

This will be the gun that makes them look at headseeker, and I hope they don't crush it. On 340s it's mandatory at this point.

I had a random shiney drop from the chest next to Shaxx. Hammer-Forged, Ricochet Rounds, Rewind Rounds, Destabilising Rounds, Range MW. The other 2 Perks were Adrenaline Junkie & I cant remember the other off the top of my head 😄
After using it on my Gyrfalcons Build? Literally just what I had equipped at the time & thought "yeah, that'll be fun!" I absolutely want a Repulsor Brace x Destabilising Rounds one with maybe a Stability MW as the Range is really good as is! Very surprised by how damn good it felt! I was gunna go for Zen x Headseeker for PVP but now I've added another roll to chase totally by chance 😑😄

Question for you Nomad, if your ideal PvP roll would include Hammer Forged + Handling MW & a Counterbalance mod, why?
I get what you mean with it not really needing Arrowhead with Zen Moment, but Arrowhead + Range MW gives you the same stats as Hammer-Forged + Handling MW, but also maxes out your recoil even better than a Counterbalance mod would, and also frees up your mod slot to slap on something else, like a targeting adjuster for example. Either works obviously, but Arrowhead + Range is objectively better than Hammer-Forged + Handling, so it just seems weird to chase the latter.
Though this is obviously nitpicking a fairly small error, and as always your analysis is on point & insightful. This is absolutely the #1 chase for PvP, and is also super solid for PvE builds as well, so even as a PvE main it's probably going to be my second or third weapon to chase, after Mountaintop & maybe Edge Transit.
The problem with this gun for me is that I need the 5/5 godroll for it to compete with my uniquely potent and unobtainable Messenger godroll.
I have a stat monster of a messenger with Zen Moment + Celerity. 5/5 perfect with that perk combo makes its stat package not just competitive with Elsie's Rifle, but straight up better than anything less than a 5/5 on Elsie's - and the reason to not want my roll on messenger is for Headseeker, and on messenger, i wasn't willing to sacrifice that handling and reload for it because of how fast it feels with them. Making the handling and reload so high on this archetype fixes the reason I hate it normally, its why I'd never use Stars and Shadow without Surplus.
But elsie's rifle? it has those stats BUILT-IN. And it can get zen + headseeker - and messenger can't get zen moment anymore!
So... do I WANT to get this gun? yes. But I need THE godroll. The perfect roll. The 5/5. Until then, it literally can't replace my messenger - nor can any messenger ever even dream of it.
But if I get that perfect stat roll Zen + Headseeker drop... this thing will be a mainstay option for me, when i feel like running a pulse.

The exact messenger stat monster that I have is Fluted + Ricochet Rounds + Range MW + Zen Moment + Celerity, placing it a whopping 58 reload, 66 handling, 69 stability, and 81 range with an extra-juiced version of Alacrity built in despite the lack of an origin perk AND zen moment making it a laser that just ignores all flinch outright.
I've used it even back when desperado was broken over any and all other high-impact pulses i've ever gotten, because it just feels so fast, so smooth, so pristine, in a way that no other high-impact pulse ever really has for me. Elsie's rifle has the stats to pull that off too.
I'll be keeping a few of these.
The full roll I want is Arrowhead, Flared or Appended, Repulsor Brace and Destabilising Rounds, and either a Stability or Reload masterwork - I think with Flared and the masterwork it gets to a 1.5ish sec reload, it's daft
I have two with Repulsor Brace and Frenzy, I'm quite fond of that combo on Hunter since Gyrfalcon's Hauberk doesn't need the help of Destabilising Rounds

Im so sad that I got all my shinys pvp and pve god rolls for all brave weapons, BUT missed the PVP godroll, have a zen+ kill clip but no headseeker :(. At least got it in regular version though

I'm normally not a master of 340s in the Crucible but I got a roll with like 85 reload, Zen Moment, and Desperado. The snappy load into Desperado makes it feel so much better than it did on Messenger. Now for a PvE roll...
No one ever talks about it, but PC vs Console Destiny is a different game. Not M&K vs controller. On PC all guns are more stable and work slightly differently M&K or not. Like +50 o stability for everything.

ER is very good and it will get even better later. However it has a different feeling than Messenger, maybe Osiris put some of his magic in the weapon. Still prefer Messenger for pvp (mine has better range) but Elsie wins clearly on the pve side. But hey, very soon we'll get a +40 meter Blast Furnace with mouthwatering perks. trials weapons should absolutely be outliers in their archetypes esp for pvp like how igneous is (though other 120s need their stats buffed since they are trash)

The only downside of Elsies Rifle, in pvp, is that blast furnace is going to be coming out; And for pve, Word of Crota (and many others) already exists with those good rolls.

I got a hammer forge, ricochet, zen, and frenzy roll 😭 so close to a god roll. I will say tho frenzy on 6v6 works wonders. No so much for competitive but it go hard in pubs especially since 6v6 pubs tends to have longer engages than comp
Def want that repulser brace disabilizing rounds role for pve. Have it on my title and recluse. Suchs a powerfull combo. Specially on warlock with void soul
I had no interest in this gun or PvE pulses in general when it came out, but after getting a lucky shiny drop w/ rewind+desperate measures I tried it out just for fun and it's become my go-to energy primary. Idk how to describe it other than it just feels amazing.
I don't feel great about spending pattern extractors on phyllotactic a couple months ago...but I grabbed the elsie's I wanted so it doesn't feel THAT bad.
I have a shiny with an extended barrel, ricochet rounds, keep away, rewind, kill clip, head seeker, and a stability mw. This thing feels like an exotic. It's that good.
So why not fluted with a range masterwork for 5 more stability and handling with the same range? You weren't kidding with phasing away from high production quality huh.

I manged to get an elsie's gold with smallbore, high cal, range mw, with zen moment/ under over + headseeker/kill clip. I used all my luck.
My PVE roll is full bore, ricochet rounds, rewind rounds and adrenaline junkie. One grenade and the gun turns into a laser…still trying to find that zen moment, headseeker for pvp

Feels good, have struggled with it in pvp, although that could just be me struggling generally, pvp has felt... Off to me lately
I got the shiny my first run lol it has hammer forged ricochet rounds range masterwork zen moment, underover, headseeker, kill clip I have godrolls of all the other high impacts including adept messenger and this feels better even better than my godroll relentless plus I can use my crutch Bungie seems to not nerf more conditioned I currently have 20k crucible kills on conditioned so you cannot tell me it isn't a crutch 😂

I believe Elisies is the best PvP primary in the game. I think we’re in an Elsie’s meta and people just don’t know yet. You can get hyyyper agressive with this thing if you get the handling stat right
i never played Onslaught when it was the seasonal activity but i've been grinding it this season and i finally got a good roll and this gun rocks. i just had one of my biggest kills games in crucible with it

I don't wanna be that guy, but your pvp god role is just straight up a down grade compared to another role. You can get the exact same stats while also getting 100 recoil direction if you use arrow head and a range master work. aside from that good vid
It's honestly kinda overwhelming how good the brave weapons have been. Say what you will about a few of the chosen inclusions but zero bad weapons is a hell of a result.
Heads up on the PvP role, fluted with a range masterwork is more optimal

arrow head + range masterwork also is just straight up better as it gives the same stats but with 100 recoil direction. Frees up that mod slot which is nice.
Destabilising Rounds is an awesome pairing for Child of the Old Gods, no matter the weapon.

Is very very hard to make a Destiny show not even Bungie knows the Lore very well and they strive on not bringing the Lore to the game for God sakes without Meilin or Byf we would not be aware of half of the stuff going on, and in top of that Bungie has done several re hearings and don't even bother to explain it on the Lore they just change it, so to make the show would be a struggle big time, and a live action is a horrible idea or a movie even worst idea, just saying.
I have your godroll. Well almost. I have corkscrew and a range mw. But holy sh*t this thing is the most consistent two burst I have ever seen on a pulse.

Funny thing I came across while looking at Relentless for PvP as well,
Messenger is a stat monster, but not entirely where it counts. Relentless has vastly better base recoil and higher base aim assist. I find this to make it far more consistent.
This was my favourite pulse in OG Destiny and I was worried about it just being nostalgia but damn it feels like it is better. Odd out of all the weapons in Into the Light that hit so far and now gotta figure out the rolls I want. Watching with interest
Im a PvE main and pulse rifles just dont do it for me. Im sure they are great playing pvp though.

even with 100 recoil direction this recoil doesn't go straight to the up it goes to the left side
to have optimal recoil direction you need to have 83 RD so it goes to the right a lill bit which is lot easier to control.
just for the tip go for extended barrel.

I currently have the zen/headseeker roll but i'm after, what i would consider god tier, an under-over and kill clip roll. In PVP with over-shields galore UO feels criminally slept on.

Yeah personally I still prefer Zen Moment + Headseeker Cold Denial with the ornament, it’s a devastating sleeper pick with a great scope and clean ADS
