The only thing I'm hoping is that the weekly timegate (if they don't just remove it due to community outcry) is that it has player agency to it. So instead of just a set order, the player can "unlock" a weapon of their choosing. Timegate is still there, but the weapons you care about most you can get more towards the start. Edit: timegate was just cut in half. Nice 🙂

@@Xlaws I mean, duhh, of course. I'm not advocating for one. I'm just saying that "Timegate" can be on a spectrum of how good or bad it is for the player. If there is going to be a timegate, no matter what, there are multiple ways they could do it: set order, RNG, or player choice.
I for one will be rocking midnight coup and recluse considering I love hand cannons and SMGS and they are both my personal favourite, except midnight coup which is second to palindrome. And honestly even if its time gated which sure for the people who love to farm and farm it sucks but I personally dont mind, itll give me a reason to farm each week and keep coming back
Because of how little time I have to sharpen my skills now since I’m working two jobs and with how toxic LFG is, I’ve never done a full raid more than once or twice, so getting succession and forebearance is really nice for me. The only one they could’ve nixed was Hung Jury because we ALREADY HAVE IT IN THE VANGUARD FOCUSING TAB, and it already had most of these perks. Would have preferred Hawksaw, Shadow Price, Atheon’s Epilogue, Steefeather Repeater, or that one fusion that could swap between solar and arc damage to name a few

I think many are sleeping on Luna's 50% Magnificent Howl damage buff. The perk description says kills with the bonus shots add more bonus shots and I feel some kind of Subsistence + Mag Howl combo will result in permanent 50% damage buff uptime on the weapon. Definitely excited to try it out!
@@Spatan295 the thing is that you could get one kill, oneshot adds with subsistance and then depending on the max stacks you could get a whole mag of magnificient howl, that can be used to keep chaining or could stack with lucky pants
Yeah that Subsistence + Magnificent howl is the play for Luna. Let the Subsistence feed Luna ammo until you have enough head shot kills stacked to unleash the Magnificent howl

I'm really looking forward to getting a repulsor/MoA recluse for my gyrfalcon setup. I've always felt like destabilizing is overkill on gyrfalcon setups since you get so so much volatile rounds as it is, using that perk slot on something else just feels better imo
For anyone who wasn't around during Forsaken, something weird was going on with Prime Engrams where Edge Transits dropped way, way more often than any other weapon from them, to the point where it turned into a massive meme.
I just wished they didn't hide it at the bottom of the article, if they mentioned the loot being spread out yesterday during the stream I would have minded less. Felt like they were trying to hide it.
Blast furnace with kinetic tremors + frenzy sounds amazing, you get to have a slight damage boost to help out pulses with their low damage and a massive reload and handling boost to keep you shooting as much as possible amd tremors to actually allow you to clear ads and chunk majors in high level content. Plus I think frenzy would boost tremor damage
Partially bummed that some other former Pinnacles are missing from this lineup; I feel that Revoker could've swapped in for Succession and Oxygen SR3 for Hung Jury, and no love for Gambit as always, but it's still exciting to see these weapons back!
Problem is that most of the other pinnacles that haven't already returned just aren't memorable enough. From Gambit you only have 21% Delirium and Hush - Hush was decidedly meh and Hammerhead easily wins the LMG slot. Oxygen has Hush's problem of being very mid and unmemorable, but it also has the issue of Meganeura - i.e. they would need to redesign the perk to a) be actually useful in the wake of Dragonflys buffs and Fireflys existence, and b) work on other weapons, which is probably a bit much work for a weapon very few can remember. I definitely agree Hung Jury again is too much, but if nothing else it IS the most memorable scout to a lot of people. As for Revoker, well, then you'd be rereleasing every Crucible Pinnacle at once and would reintroduce its perk. And Revokers stats and general feel gear it much more towards PvP, when they ideally want these guns to maintain some sort of balance. Plus getting non-Raiders or expac owners a taste of the good shit (TM), which I certainly approve of.
The thing is we’ve already got pretty much all of them back and their perks. We got breakneck(yeah you can’t get the roll) and we have killing Talley. Also the bow never really got much hype it was nasty though. But yeah I would’ve loved to see oxygen back instead of schlong jury. I don’t know how they would’ve brought back revolver especially with the new ammo system

I'm glad that bungie is giving non-raiding players a way to get weapons that somewhat rival raid weapons. As someone that was only able to get Apex through the Riven's Wishes thing, I'm excited to get Forbearance and something that rivals commemoration.
I wholeheartedly agree. My clan doesn't have enough people in it to raid, and I would be first-timing every raid if I tried so I can't do it with the LFG discord if I want to spare my sanity. Raiding is just not an option. I wanted Undercurrent but the couple times I got to farm for it, I never got a good roll. Being able to get Forbearance is really nice

My clan has enough people but most of us don't really care for raiding and/or stopped playing the game due to bungie's screw-ups. I got really lucky with my first undercurrent drop, it had demo + voltshot, which was the roll I wanted so I'm happy.

I’m excited for Blast Furnace with kinetic tremors because it’s a four burst, so when enhanced, it could be legitimately amazing, even more so if one for all is triggered off kinetic tremors shockwaves.
Explosive Payload and Frenzy is a fantastic roll on Midnight Coup if you couldn't grab a Fatebringer with it. It hits like a truck after the handcannon buff

I 100% would've rather gotten Patron of Lost Causes or Randy's Throwing Knife over Hung Jury. 200s and 260s are much better then 180s in PvE imo, although I kinda also wish we had gotten something other then a scout rifle.
As a One For All enjoyer myself I am very excited about Midnight Coup and Blast Furnace simply because both Firefly (on Coup) and Kinetic Tremors (on Blast) can activate One For All just by shooting or killing one enemy. Also One For All buffs Firefly's damage by 35% too (we can't test that with Kinetic Tremors yet but I don't think it's going to work like that since it's damage is fixed). My favourite weapon ever is Insidious with One For All and Dragonfly and I am really happy Bungie is putting similar perk combinations on more weapons (that aren't Tyranny of Heavens). Can't wait to farm them!
It’s not about disappointment it’s about availability. The limited edition skin for random drops will be less available because the they will literally be less available for the time between 4/9 and Final Shape.
The realization of combining Envious/Cascade Point hit me just before you actually stated it (as soon as you said multiple perks in the columns) and I just started dying from laughter at the thought of mag-dumping 18 rounds into a boss in like 5 secs
Hey Datto I think you should try blast furnace with Kinetic tremors and one for all since kinetic tremors can proc one for all, seems like natural synergy and it might just be something you like!
For the PvP mains out there, blast furnace with headseeker and kill clip effectively turns it into a high impact pulse rifle with more forgiveness. Definitely will be something you'll want to go for if you grind PvP often at all.
Best part of the envious assassin to cascade point swap, that means you can dump most of, if not your entire reserves in a single bait and switch proc, which sounds absurd to me. Instantly made me the most excited about edge transit lmao
the only problem is that it doesn't autoload, it could be fixed with hunter dodge, shuriken or icarus. Either ways it'll probably have better dps than any other gl, even manually reloading
Eh, it depends on how much ability energy the new origin trait gives. A big part of old forbearance was the healing you constantly got, it was like having half a devour on reload, which with forbearance you do a lot of. So if the new trait isnt good enough og forbearance will still be better imho

10:40 im also not usually a vorpal kinda guy, but that's only because its normally in the 4th column and replaces other better options like whirlwind or bait and switch. Since on falling guillotine, vorpal is in the 3rd column, it means you can double up on damage perks, and do vorpal AND one of the other two I mentioned, so its legitimately a viable option this time Edit: Nevermind, frenzy is in column 3 too lmao, more damage go brr
KT/Frenzy on the blast furnace is interesting to me. I feel like there will be anti-synergy with KT/firefly where KT will take the last hit and get in the way of firefly.
Hammerhead with destabilizing/killing tally is my personal weapon roll I’m looking out for the most, although that rampage killing tally is also really interesting too, other than that blast furnace, midnight coup, and mountaintop all good weapons in looking for tbh
I think there were a few interesting perk rolls that are worth discussing: - Blast Furnace can get the improved reload with Firefly, and the AoE should proc Shoot To Loot. S2L/Dragonfly was my favourite roll on a lot of weapons, notably Wolftone Draw, and I think it'll be a nice quality of life combo for low end content. -Luna's Howl get a reworked version of Magnificent Howl that basically gives you turbo bullets for getting headshot kills and then reloading, and it's based on how many kills you get before reloading the mag. It also says that when it's active, headshot kills extend the duration. It sounds like Subsistence will help with getting that perk cranked on the first reload, and also for keeping it active for long chain headshot kills (again in lower level content). If you're looking for something fun to pull out in playlist strikes, that'd do it. I'm a huge fan of the old Subsistence DMT roll that you can't get anymore, so I'm definitely farming that one among others.
Mega bummed they won’t just drop all the weapons especially considering the limited edition skins, it’d be kinda nice if we got an old bungie move and they just dropped everything and said “have fun” since this is the reskin destiny is fun once again update.
gyrfalcon hunters really dont care about repulsor brace + destabilising rounds, because the destabilising rounds are already built into the exotic, that combination is more so for anyone not playing void at all

Harmony Mountaintop with MOA recluse is gone be so good dude. Just constant damage and you can switch back and forth. Void hunter also having Volatile is just gonna be Nuts. That and hammerhead is gonna be so good I won’t need an exotic
17:28 ambitious assassin + frenzy for Mountaintop… ambitious is obvious…. Frenzy for damage and reload. Plus the self damage reduction on micromissle frame this around will make it way more user friendly. Coming back way stronger than when it was sunset.
Reconstruction already auto-reloads over time, plus, ambitious assassin plays much better, especially when paired with Recluse, all while allowing another perk slot for something like hot swap or something
I'm hyped for Elsie's Raifu just for Zen/Headseeker in PVP, that sounds like a headshot 2 burst magnet. That, Mountaintop, Edge Transit and Hammerhead are probably the ones I'll be hard grinding god rolls for.

I will say for Falling Guillotine, for solo dungeon runs Vorpal/Bait and Switch with a double special could come in handy for some bosses. And for Hammer Head, I’m gonna hunt for Rewind/Killing Tally for my void Hunter, and Envious/Target Lock for DPS if it’s needed.

I was excited to play this update, and finally have something to draw me back in, but this time gating is egregious now. None of the first week weapons catch my eye enough to return, and by the time one of the weapons i want is out, ill have forgotten about D2 again :/ the time gating really stalls my enjoyment of the entire product

The thing about the Recluse is 2 builds really make it shine with Repulsor Brace - Any void warlock, I've been having so much fun with void Verity's Brow, but it would also do great with Contraverse, Nothing Manacles, Briarbinds, even Nez Sin. But another build I think the Recluse truly shines with, is going to be void Armamentarium titan. But any void warlock/titan build that capitalizes on grenade spam is going to absolutely eat good with a repulsor/frenzy Recluse, it feels too good. My personal god roll is hammer-forged, ricochet rounds, range masterwork, with repuslor/frenzy. It feels fantastic and with volatile rounds, it can get a little crazy on void warlock with Feed the Void.
Falling Guillotine: I wonder how Frenzy + surrounded would be. I imagine in any situation you'll have surrounded, Frenzy might be on by default as well. Recluse: Deffinetly getting a destabilizing + Repulsor roll for my invis hunter PvE build. Hammerhead: Looking for a Feeding frenzy + onslaught for fun, but yea a lot of other good tools there. Luna's: Looking at that incandescent + heal clip would be nice for solar builds, Heal Clip + Mag Houl could be nice for Luck Pants Hunters in PvE. Midnight: Exp payload + one for all could be nice but lots there IMO for PvE or PvP
I ran some numbers on Aegis' spreadsheet, and found Vortex frames really need a buff. Using Death's Razor as a stand in (it is also a Vortex Frame with Enhanced Surrounded), it has 105k dps with e.surrounded (assuming a perfect 1H2L combo, which requires 3x Lucent Blades). Adding Frenzy puts it at 121k. Using light attacks only with a bequest that has e.surrounded, you get 124k. the same combo on bequest does 139k. Guillotine also loses out on Relentless Strikes to reach this dps, widening the already massive gap in total damage.
@@randomguy1706 If you would read, you'd see I said "lots there IMO for PvE or PvP" for the Midnight Coup. Just didn't feel listing a roll pretty much EVERYONE is already exited about.

Midnight Coup: Explosive Payload, Shoot to Loot with Kinetic Tremors, One for All. Explosive could good for both Kinetic Tremors might proc with less shots, Shoot to Loot Kinetic is a classic, Explosive and One for All is just damage. Recluse: Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds. Subsistence and Master of Arm. Mountain Top: Auto-Loading and Frenzy or Recombination. Edge Transit: Cascade Point and Bait and Switch. Though Chain Reaction and Deconstruct could be interesting for add clear, could possibly make an infinite ammo heavy. Hammer-Head: Rampage and Killing-Tally or Onslaught. Destabilizing Rounds could be interesting instead of Rampage. Blast Furnace: Kinetic Tremors and One for All. Luna's Howl: Heal Clip or Subsistence and Incandescent or Heal Clip Magnificent Howl. Hung Jury: Kinetic Tremors, Explosive Rounds or One for All. Same reasons as Midnight Coup. Elsie's Pulse: Repulsor Brace and Desperate Measures or Destabilizing Rounds. Alot of interesting rolls on these weapons. Trying to get unique rolls on the returning raid weapons.

Mountaintop with ALH and Recombination will be amazing as a pocket Parasite major/champion killer, super excited to test it out.

I’m actually looking forward to getting a Luna’s Howl just because on controller a 140 with precision recoil is going to be really good, and unique.
I'm just glad to be getting Hammerhead back. That was my favorite machine gun on my old account, before sunsetting was introduced.
Blast furnace with kinetic tremors + frenzy sounds amazing, you get to have a slight damage boost to help out pulses with their low damage and a massive reload and handling boost to keep you shooting as much as possible amd tremors to actually allow you to clear ads and chunk majors in high level content.
Plus I think frenzy would boost tremor damage
Kill Clip doesn't, so Frenzy won't. Still nice

Partially bummed that some other former Pinnacles are missing from this lineup; I feel that Revoker could've swapped in for Succession and Oxygen SR3 for Hung Jury, and no love for Gambit as always, but it's still exciting to see these weapons back!
Problem is that most of the other pinnacles that haven't already returned just aren't memorable enough. From Gambit you only have 21% Delirium and Hush - Hush was decidedly meh and Hammerhead easily wins the LMG slot. Oxygen has Hush's problem of being very mid and unmemorable, but it also has the issue of Meganeura - i.e. they would need to redesign the perk to a) be actually useful in the wake of Dragonflys buffs and Fireflys existence, and b) work on other weapons, which is probably a bit much work for a weapon very few can remember. I definitely agree Hung Jury again is too much, but if nothing else it IS the most memorable scout to a lot of people.
As for Revoker, well, then you'd be rereleasing every Crucible Pinnacle at once and would reintroduce its perk. And Revokers stats and general feel gear it much more towards PvP, when they ideally want these guns to maintain some sort of balance. Plus getting non-Raiders or expac owners a taste of the good shit (TM), which I certainly approve of.
The thing is we’ve already got pretty much all of them back and their perks. We got breakneck(yeah you can’t get the roll) and we have killing Talley. Also the bow never really got much hype it was nasty though. But yeah I would’ve loved to see oxygen back instead of schlong jury. I don’t know how they would’ve brought back revolver especially with the new ammo system

I'm glad that bungie is giving non-raiding players a way to get weapons that somewhat rival raid weapons. As someone that was only able to get Apex through the Riven's Wishes thing, I'm excited to get Forbearance and something that rivals commemoration.

I wholeheartedly agree. My clan doesn't have enough people in it to raid, and I would be first-timing every raid if I tried so I can't do it with the LFG discord if I want to spare my sanity. Raiding is just not an option. I wanted Undercurrent but the couple times I got to farm for it, I never got a good roll. Being able to get Forbearance is really nice

My clan has enough people but most of us don't really care for raiding and/or stopped playing the game due to bungie's screw-ups. I got really lucky with my first undercurrent drop, it had demo + voltshot, which was the roll I wanted so I'm happy.

I’m excited for Blast Furnace with kinetic tremors because it’s a four burst, so when enhanced, it could be legitimately amazing, even more so if one for all is triggered off kinetic tremors shockwaves.
Explosive Payload and Frenzy is a fantastic roll on Midnight Coup if you couldn't grab a Fatebringer with it. It hits like a truck after the handcannon buff

I 100% would've rather gotten Patron of Lost Causes or Randy's Throwing Knife over Hung Jury. 200s and 260s are much better then 180s in PvE imo, although I kinda also wish we had gotten something other then a scout rifle.

As a One For All enjoyer myself I am very excited about Midnight Coup and Blast Furnace simply because both Firefly (on Coup) and Kinetic Tremors (on Blast) can activate One For All just by shooting or killing one enemy. Also One For All buffs Firefly's damage by 35% too (we can't test that with Kinetic Tremors yet but I don't think it's going to work like that since it's damage is fixed). My favourite weapon ever is Insidious with One For All and Dragonfly and I am really happy Bungie is putting similar perk combinations on more weapons (that aren't Tyranny of Heavens). Can't wait to farm them!
Re: Envious/Cascade, I don't see why it wouldn't, mag perks stick around after perk switch, and reservoir burst also sticks around on perk switch.
I think it's less "will it work" and more "will Bungie try to stop it from working down the line".
At least we can still get them after final shape drops, that’s a plus

It’s not about disappointment it’s about availability. The limited edition skin for random drops will be less available because the they will literally be less available for the time between 4/9 and Final Shape.
The realization of combining Envious/Cascade Point hit me just before you actually stated it (as soon as you said multiple perks in the columns) and I just started dying from laughter at the thought of mag-dumping 18 rounds into a boss in like 5 secs
Hey Datto I think you should try blast furnace with Kinetic tremors and one for all since kinetic tremors can proc one for all, seems like natural synergy and it might just be something you like!
For the PvP mains out there, blast furnace with headseeker and kill clip effectively turns it into a high impact pulse rifle with more forgiveness. Definitely will be something you'll want to go for if you grind PvP often at all.

Best part of the envious assassin to cascade point swap, that means you can dump most of, if not your entire reserves in a single bait and switch proc, which sounds absurd to me. Instantly made me the most excited about edge transit lmao
the only problem is that it doesn't autoload, it could be fixed with hunter dodge, shuriken or icarus. Either ways it'll probably have better dps than any other gl, even manually reloading

Eh, it depends on how much ability energy the new origin trait gives.
A big part of old forbearance was the healing you constantly got, it was like having half a devour on reload, which with forbearance you do a lot of.
So if the new trait isnt good enough og forbearance will still be better imho

Destabilizing rounds rework idea. Keep the explosion and give the gun volatile rounds based on how many enemies was hit by the explosion.
Hopefully the Origin Trait will stack with other perks, have a Demo + Wellspring Forbearance with the Origin Trait and spam off abilities.
10:40 im also not usually a vorpal kinda guy, but that's only because its normally in the 4th column and replaces other better options like whirlwind or bait and switch. Since on falling guillotine, vorpal is in the 3rd column, it means you can double up on damage perks, and do vorpal AND one of the other two I mentioned, so its legitimately a viable option this time

KT/Frenzy on the blast furnace is interesting to me. I feel like there will be anti-synergy with KT/firefly where KT will take the last hit and get in the way of firefly.

Hammerhead with destabilizing/killing tally is my personal weapon roll I’m looking out for the most, although that rampage killing tally is also really interesting too, other than that blast furnace, midnight coup, and mountaintop all good weapons in looking for tbh
Was honestly excited for half of these weapons it just sucks that the half im excited for is time gated for whatever reason.
I think there were a few interesting perk rolls that are worth discussing:
- Blast Furnace can get the improved reload with Firefly, and the AoE should proc Shoot To Loot. S2L/Dragonfly was my favourite roll on a lot of weapons, notably Wolftone Draw, and I think it'll be a nice quality of life combo for low end content.
-Luna's Howl get a reworked version of Magnificent Howl that basically gives you turbo bullets for getting headshot kills and then reloading, and it's based on how many kills you get before reloading the mag. It also says that when it's active, headshot kills extend the duration. It sounds like Subsistence will help with getting that perk cranked on the first reload, and also for keeping it active for long chain headshot kills (again in lower level content). If you're looking for something fun to pull out in playlist strikes, that'd do it. I'm a huge fan of the old Subsistence DMT roll that you can't get anymore, so I'm definitely farming that one among others.
Since you can get multiple perks in a column, you in theory could fill ambitious on edge transit, then switch to cascade point before damage…
Mega bummed they won’t just drop all the weapons especially considering the limited edition skins, it’d be kinda nice if we got an old bungie move and they just dropped everything and said “have fun” since this is the reskin destiny is fun once again update.
gyrfalcon hunters really dont care about repulsor brace + destabilising rounds, because the destabilising rounds are already built into the exotic, that combination is more so for anyone not playing void at all
A sad tear for not seeing Gnawing Hunger or Chroma Rush. Would have loved a Chroma with Kinetic Tremors and Firefly.

17:28 ambitious assassin + frenzy for Mountaintop… ambitious is obvious…. Frenzy for damage and reload. Plus the self damage reduction on micromissle frame this around will make it way more user friendly. Coming back way stronger than when it was sunset.

Transit: envious and bait and switch I could use a gl with those perks since I don’t play trials

I will say for Falling Guillotine, for solo dungeon runs Vorpal/Bait and Switch with a double special could come in handy for some bosses.
And for Hammer Head, I’m gonna hunt for Rewind/Killing Tally for my void Hunter, and Envious/Target Lock for DPS if it’s needed.
Every time i think this company does something good and is making good additions to the game, they throw some BS on top of it that makes me utterly despise the decisions theyre making.

I was excited to play this update, and finally have something to draw me back in, but this time gating is egregious now. None of the first week weapons catch my eye enough to return, and by the time one of the weapons i want is out, ill have forgotten about D2 again :/ the time gating really stalls my enjoyment of the entire product

But to expand on what i had said back then, the idea was "If what they're doing now is time-gating weapons, then i don't even wanna know what they'll be time gating in TFS"
The thing about the Recluse is 2 builds really make it shine with Repulsor Brace - Any void warlock, I've been having so much fun with void Verity's Brow, but it would also do great with Contraverse, Nothing Manacles, Briarbinds, even Nez Sin.
But another build I think the Recluse truly shines with, is going to be void Armamentarium titan. But any void warlock/titan build that capitalizes on grenade spam is going to absolutely eat good with a repulsor/frenzy Recluse, it feels too good. My personal god roll is hammer-forged, ricochet rounds, range masterwork, with repuslor/frenzy. It feels fantastic and with volatile rounds, it can get a little crazy on void warlock with Feed the Void.
They really upped the ante with this release. They know how to drum up hype that's for sure.
You already paid for these weapons and then they took them away from you. You shouldn't be hyped at all. That's just sad.
Falling Guillotine: I wonder how Frenzy + surrounded would be. I imagine in any situation you'll have surrounded, Frenzy might be on by default as well.
Recluse: Deffinetly getting a destabilizing + Repulsor roll for my invis hunter PvE build.
Hammerhead: Looking for a Feeding frenzy + onslaught for fun, but yea a lot of other good tools there.
Luna's: Looking at that incandescent + heal clip would be nice for solar builds, Heal Clip + Mag Houl could be nice for Luck Pants Hunters in PvE.
Midnight: Exp payload + one for all could be nice but lots there IMO for PvE or PvP
I ran some numbers on Aegis' spreadsheet, and found Vortex frames really need a buff.
Using Death's Razor as a stand in (it is also a Vortex Frame with Enhanced Surrounded), it has 105k dps with e.surrounded (assuming a perfect 1H2L combo, which requires 3x Lucent Blades). Adding Frenzy puts it at 121k.
Using light attacks only with a bequest that has e.surrounded, you get 124k. the same combo on bequest does 139k.
Guillotine also loses out on Relentless Strikes to reach this dps, widening the already massive gap in total damage.

Hammer-Head: Rampage and Killing-Tally or Onslaught. Destabilizing Rounds could be interesting instead of Rampage.
Blast Furnace: Kinetic Tremors and One for All.
Luna's Howl: Heal Clip or Subsistence and Incandescent or Heal Clip Magnificent Howl.
Hung Jury: Kinetic Tremors, Explosive Rounds or One for All. Same reasons as Midnight Coup.
Elsie's Pulse: Repulsor Brace and Desperate Measures or Destabilizing Rounds.
Alot of interesting rolls on these weapons. Trying to get unique rolls on the returning raid weapons.
