For a vegetable book cover it would be fun if you gave your veggies a basket and then add a “price tag” sort of label that can be the frame of your book title. I always love seeing the elements in an artwork act as substrates for a title or name. Some artists back in the day used to do things like that where they would include their signature on an element that was part of the artwork.
I'm so pleased you are honest about how long it takes to collage. I do large scale collages and machine stitching on canvas and board and it looks like a painted paper massacre at times haha!! Thank you for your generosity and more success to you!
Hello ! As always, stunned by the result and I just love it :-) You are so talented and you are a great "collage teller" if I may say so because you really emphasized the different steps of your collage and it's really interesting to aprehend all your work ! Take care ;-) 🤩
Your art is so powerful that im sure you give inspiration to many people (and i am the only one of them). Even only watching your videos makes me feel more motivated to be productive💫 I wish you keep "producing" in every field where you want to be in.🧡🦋
What an amazing job you did there! I've never seen anything like this, so this is doing something to my brain lol I'd spent a long time looking at those pieces, admiring the details. It's so cool!
Thanks for showing us your process and for mentioning that it doesn’t come together for a large part of the time. Lovely work and I think it would make a fantastic book cover.
I really enjoyed watching you create these pieces, and I love the way they turned out... Those purple root veggies were definitely not imaginary, they looked exactly like beets with their shaded stems and green foliage. Thank you so much for sharing your process and taking us on the journey with you!
Your work is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I haven't dipped my toes in to collage yet, but your videos are so inspirational and when I get a little more space to organize supplies I dream of creating my own textures and putting beginning to put things together. I'm excited where the process may lead me! xoxo thank you for sharing your absolutely amazing work
I absolutely love your videos, please pleaseeee keep them coming :,) I show your videos to the kids I teach art to 🥹 I’ve been in an art block for the longest time since I graduated art school and your videos have really been helping me feel inspired and excited to create ❤
Thank you Emma - that was an amazing video. Thank you for sharing all your tips and your honest creative process. You work really hard to make fantastic art. It was really inspiring.
Absolutely charming and delightful and yes the big vegetable collage will make a great book cover. Really liked hearing your thoughts on your process, contrast, framing, etc. Great job on the collages and the video!
another great video!! Emily I love love love all your creations! I've been watching your videos for the last couple of years and just love everything you do!
I think these would make a great kitchen series if you wanted to expand on the ideas. a veggie page, a fruits page, a meat and dairy page. Got a big wall in my kitchen Emily, just sayin... :)
Love! So inspiring. I'm thinking do you think you could collage like Marmite jars as one big print with maybe flowers coming out of it, same.with Yorkshire Tea box and lots of little buttercups coming from within. Sort of like.retro British things you d find in the kitchen.. I might have a go myself but I think you'd be excellent at it!
These pieces came out so good! I love all the textures in both of them. Question - do you have a video that talks about what kind of paper you paint on and what kind of sketchbook or loose paper you actually build your collage on?
In the first how I collage video I talk in more detail about it but to summarise, my collage papers are painted on plain old cheap printer paper, and what I do the collages on changes, it’s just what ever I have. I mainly use water colour paper as it’s nice and thick. 😊
This is very lovely. Thank you for sharing :) Do you finish your collages with anything glue or glaze to make it last? I'm always worried that my collages with loosen afterwards.
Hi Em! I love your work and you’ve really inspired me to try collage for the first time! I’ve already learned a ton from you but I had a quick question! In your previous videos of painting the papers, you use computer printer paper. I was wondering if you have had any issues with the longevity of your final pieces, like if the lightfastness of the paint and other materials you use to color the paper is affected by the quality of the paper, if that makes sense? I’m interested in creating and possibly selling originals so I was just curious if you have any of your own collages on display and have noticed any yellowing of the paper or color fading over time. Thanks so much!
Thank you 🎉😊 to answer your question I’ve never had any issues with the paper 😊 I’ve had a lot of pieces on display for quite some time and I’ve never noticed the colours fade. I think a lot of that has to do with the type of paint you use rather than the paper but maybe I’ve just not had things out long enough to see the effect of fading? Having said this some pieces I’ve had on display for multiple years and they’ve not changed! Hope this helps 😊

I was just looking up how to collage yesterday for an assignment! What luck!!
Ahhh perfect timing! 😊
How did you get the striped texture/look for the first carrot paper and the light and dark turnip paper?
I painting the base colour first and once that had dried I dry brushed on top, splaying the bristles of my brush out with my finger as I did it 😊
Your work is lovely! Thank you for sharing. Do you spray varnish your finished pieces that have mixed media?
Beautiful!
This is very lovely. Thank you for sharing :) Do you finish your collages with anything glue or glaze to make it last? I'm always worried that my collages with loosen afterwards.

No apostrophe of 'peas' because it's a plural!!
Beautiful!
