This is one of the best album closers I’ve heard in a long while.
This has to be my favorite song on the album. I listen to this on repeat on the way home sometimes. This song itself has a story with a beginning, middle, and end. LOVE IT!!!!!
Everyone watches Awakening, because it's rightly an excellent song... but DAMN if Apex isn't one of the best pieces of power metal ever written

Ive loved metal for close to 40 years now and this is one of my favorite bands.
I think at some point your hands were actually shaking while listening to this. I know mine were! What a fantastic song by a great group. As a retired drummer, I want to give props to Scott Buchanan for his work on this song. I get where you think its a fight song, because the double bass work made me think of a cavalry charge! Keep them coming, Mr. Rock and Roll!

This band is absolutely incredible. I had the privilege of seeing them live, and meeting the whole band. One of the best shows of my entire life thus far. Talent? Check. Amazing people? Check. Apex is amazing. The whole damn album is amazing. And it saddens me greatly that I will likely never get to see this band live.
The entire album is, in fact, a concept album. The song 'awakening' follows the story of the ancient immortal that has been sleeping for 1000 years and now has to follow a new master's command and journey to the top of the mountain...the APEX.

I want my next extreme rollercoaster to be an Unleash the Archers themed coaster. Their artwork and music would be everywhere. Their artwork and music take me back to when I was a kid and winning Iron Maiden mirrors at the fair.

A lot of songs on this album are great, but I'd say this is my #1.

So glad you did this one, it’s my favorite UTA song. This is EVERYTHING Power Metal should be, just EPIC, I love it, fell in love with it from the first few guitar cords the first time I heard it.
I love this album. I purchased it the moment I first heard awakening. The whole album is amazing. That's awesome how she sent you a care package! She's one of my favorite singers.. I've met Tatiana already.. now I just need to meet Brittney and Floor then I'll have achieved a bucket list item of meeting my personal Metal Maiden Triumvirate.

I find it very interesting that you feel that this song is fight music. Or that it gets you pumped. This is an album I listen to while running, and this song definitely helps you pick up a bit after running for nearly an hour.
It's a common thread here but the whole album is perfect. Check out The Matriarch or 10,000 against One next. Let's start 2020 right!

Ive been liking them for a while. But this song really sticks out for me. The composition, execution, lyrics, vocals, all of it. It has a feeling and depth that really projects something.

Bro...I, only a few days ago, realized what the line is actually saying: If you have what it takes, Brittney is saying to follow her to the top -- the top of whatever mountain you might be climbing. And through her voice and the music, she'll help you get there. Just don't give up and lose your motivation.
This is a message that is needed more than ever in today's world -- because too many people want the easy way out, rather than putting the work in to climb the mountain.
I *always* want to be one known as someone who doesn't give up, doesn't surrender -- and in not giving up, make it to the top of the mountain.
I recommend you listen to the entire album. Great story throughout backed by great music. Every song is great. It's insane!

The song is well-named, as I think it may be the peak of North American power metal. Perfection might not be technically possible, but it also may not technically be possible to get any better than this. Just the moods the song takes you through along its seemingly wandering path.
Like a kind of magic. Like Ghost Love Score the first several times you hear it. Transports you beyond the bounds of mortal flesh, if only for a moment.
Not many songs have had that effect on me.
If you haven't bought this album, every song on it is worth the price of admission
Apex is a concept album, telling a single story; and the story isn't finished. They are supposed to release a sequel album early 2020.

Gardner De Aguiar absolutely, this album is front to back quality, it’s the rare album that has no misses, there is no song on it I haven’t listened to 10-15 times, best metal album of the decade in my book
I was so disappointed...I found out UtA had a concert in my city, 3 days after they'd come through. I would've loved to see them.

Great reaction as always! If you like this concept album might I suggest Coheed and Cambria's album "Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Volume One". More rock than power metal but like Apex, every song tells the story as you go through the album. They even did a comic book tie in.
You should definitely check out the live acoustic version of this song.

You’re gonna love Time Stands still from unleash the archers...same as Battlebeast, try listening to I want the world or into the night, if not straight to the heart (I’ll guarantee you’ll wanna go on a treadmill and run your butt off)
Check out Clear the Way by Iced Earth it's got some great riffs to air guitar too.
The composer's love for Iron Maiden is obvious in the twin-guitar melodies. I've been saying for a while now that if Bruce Dickinson retired, Brittney would be my ideal replacement (because Floor Jansen is comfortable where she is with Nightwish). I don't think many fans would complain either.
Kobra and the lotus "lost in the shadows" the Canadian answer to stairway to heaven? Once in a rare time a band will make an epic anthom that stays with you..... Check it out.
If you want a different, more melodic UTA song, check out Northwest Passage. It’s a majestic song! I really think you’ll love it and fall even further in love with Brittany’s voice, if that’s possible.
