I love how we're all confused americans in the comments because highschool doesn't teach us this stuff lol
I'm only here because I'm a high schooler writing a college story for a minor competition xD
Not just you guys. Asian here, most Asian highschools don't even care to tell us this stuff. They told me *you'll learn when you grow up* .... And I have grown up... what the heck has changed......? 😥
Not only americans . Im an asian and have no clue about college , i want to ask people 'cause i dont want them think im a dumb person .
For real!!! High School doesn't do $h!t to prepare you for The REAL World!
NAH FR
Why don’t schools teach this?!
Agree
yeah i never know anything of this when i always ask they say ooo you will know when you grow up wtf
You should know how to beat the system
Ikr
Money
Just graduated highschool ,17 and clueless. Like they just gave me my diploma and ditched. I don't think most people in my year knows how college works.
Schools don't teach us
Psht, this is so me. I am still lost in what to major in and the likes of that lol
Wish they gave a small class of the process of college to make things easier 😞
It scares me how little I know about all of growing up and school
@@grubber It’s scaring me now as a junior
How are you doing now bro? I’m 17 and I’m finna graduate soon… help 🤣
@@Hugo-tf5tf I survived
I am now 19.
After HS
I took a gap year, moved to my dad and I am now doing my 2nd year in communiity college
I think I'll get my associates then transfer to get my bachelors
I don’t understand majors, bachelors and associate degrees. Your video was very helpful though!
Ok so a major is a field or topic you would like to get more in depth with. As in, something you would probably like to have a profession in; For example, engineering, economics, etc... A bachelor’s degree is a certificate indicating that you are well educated in that major; this helps employers know that you have acquired the knowledge and skills that they are looking for. An associate’s degree is the basic learning given to a student after high school. These last 2-3 year and are performed in community colleges. In fact, a lot of community college students transfer to a four year college (even after they obtain their associate’s degree) and complete a bachelor’s degree.
@@carl___________ do bachelor certificates expire after a while too? If you go for something and change your mind, can you just keep getting different bachelors in different subjects? Or is there a limit?
@@Coryiodine well, you only live around 100 years, but you also have to have money, so
@Carl thank u for this
Edit: I somehow I feel like I’ve been let in on a secret tip and now feel like I can accomplish anything with this information
@@carl___________thank you
Finally, i found someoe who can explain the very basics of college. Ive been wanting to go to college after i finish high school but i never really couls figure out how it works..... you may have just put me on a road to success. Thank you very much. Good day.
Edit: sees there has not been anymore videos uploaded for 4 years 😮🔫
this was so so so helpful, I'm very very young but I hope to make a life for myself when I get older and I always find myself stressing over this kind of thing but I feel very much relief after this.
Isa Luker same...
Me too , I'm literally 11 but for some reason I'm interested in building my own future . I don't understand that much about university or college which is why I decided to watch this video .
Can you go to just for sports/soccer
same i'm only 9 and i wanna have a family with 12 kids when i grow up(even right now i'm pretty family oriented so my current goal is to have a sucessful life with a big family), its like, 8 or 9 years away for me but i've been bugging my parents for a few years by now about it, i even have a list on amazon dedicated to dorm rooms
@DNA Scotty bro I comment this 4 years ago
Such a really detailed explanation. it would really help me as an international student. Thanks ;)
Same
I love this it’s amazing how people don’t teach this when it’s so necessary to know as a high school student especially for grad
People expect you to know all the differences
I just turned a Junior in highschool and have always wanted to go to college. But no one would tell me what to do or what happens (just that I need to go). This was soooo helpful.
So true, there is no somekind of orientation
im a freshman and as I'm getting closer to sophomore year it really had me thinking about how colleges work ty for this🦋
THANK YOU!!!1) At what grade do you start to sign up to colleges?2) Can you use the same resume for every college?3) What do you need to do in order to sign up for colleges during high school?
Never to early to start preparing! For me, the earlier the better.
How to decide what college you want to got to?
consider your options based on your high school scores & gpa, then compare them with the requirements to any school you might think would fit you. you should search up videos and websites that describes the qualifications for those colleges.
Hey I’m a junior in highschool and I wanted to learn the basics of college before I started looking more into what major I wanted and this was the best summary of anything I’ve ever looked up.Thank you very much!
Good luck with school

Crimsonfury ok I have a question, if you start a major, will you still need to take the basic classes

This was super helpful. I'm still a bit lost though and I have a question, does your weekly schedule stay the same throughout the semester/year? Or does it change every week?

So what do you do after the community college if you want to get more in depth with your education?
I'm in 1st year of highschool and somehow I've been thinking of college-

keep thinking about it cause time will fly by so quick. technically speaking i was only a freshman 2 years ago and now i'm a senior. and covid cut sophomore year in half and junior year flew by so quick cause i only went 2 days a week. i seriously still feel like a sophomore but have to accept reality that i'm a senior

So are those Major is what you called course? or nah? I'm sorry if I'm so noob to not know the answer to my question, I just really don't know huhu sorry also for my bad english.

Why does my guy look like hammerhead from spiderman?
Thanks for this video
What classes would I have to take if I want to pursue filmmaking?
This is educational for kids
You have 195 subs for 1 video (which by the way was released on my b-day). You need to make more videos man, get more subs. You could develop a great channel about college. Think about it!
I have a question, if you graduated k-12 can you choose whatever courses you want to study like engineering, Computer science, etc. Or does it depend on your strand? Example I have decided to take ABM to prepare for accountancy in college and then when I reached college I decided to study civil engineering instead.
Thank youu
I live in Europe, I have about 2 years of Highs School ahead of me. I play football here where I live, and I would like to go to college in US mostly to play football there. Do you think i have any chances to get accepted (Im not a American)? Does the fact that I have experience in football makes any difference ?
What kinda places are inside of a college building?
im a highschool student tryna learn these things bc im writing a book abt college students LMAOOOOO
How does semesters work in college? Is it different then high school or the same?
this is so helpful but wanting to go to art school and there is no information on that is not fun loll
