- Tesla Profits down, but who needs profit when you can sell Carbon Credits?
my advice as always is that if an EV suits your needs and you can mostly charge it from home, get it,
here is my affiliate link to Octopus Energy and if you use it to sign up, we both get £50 share.octopus....

If I wanted to drive up the motorway cheaply, I'd buy a Skoda Octavia Diesel. I wouldn't touch a Tesla with the proverbial bargepole. They're awful things that seem to appeal exclusively to narcissists.
can't beat the fanboys when they are enamored with a brand even if it milks them to the very end with inferior products.
Selling carbon credits has got to be the con of the decade?
Yen, its carbon bitcoin
and people were calling it out as such yers ago, its a scam created by governments and vested interests, its amongst many things a way to tax third and second world industry
Musk has always been a frontman for government grift. Look at spacex...
Tesla are selling around a million cars a world YEARLY. Yet, its stock valuation is SO inflated it's unreal.
1.8mill. Their valuation is based off of autonomy not car sales. You’re Missing the forrest for the trees.
You’ll say it eventually Barrie.
This has always been the case they lose money on every Tesla made.
Who told you that! Tesla makes a 30% profit on every vehicle they make! They have over £30 billion in the bank and have no debt! In complete contrast to the other car makers! They don't just sell cars they are selling all they can make with mega batteries and soon they will make even more from Optimus. Do you even know what FSD is? At least we now know what you know about the car industry! ZERO 😂😂
False, even their god awful cybertruck is profitable barely a year after launch. It's the legacy car makers that are losing money, Ford for example have lost $3.7 billion on its EV sales. Love 'em or hate 'em, Tesla are years ahead and are much more than just a car brand. Their profits & share price will continue to rise.
No, they have best in class profit margins for any mass producing automaker ex credits.
Interesting
They will also make a good profit on the electricity they sell on through their network, just like HP do with printers and ink.
Where does Tesla get the carbon credits from? If they make their money from selling credits they must come from somewhere ……. why don’t all the other EV firms sell credits as well?
Sounds like the central banks writing themselves a cheque so they can lend it to the high street banks.
Update - I’ve just awarded myself 10 million carbon credits and anyone who wants to buy one gets in on the ground floor. This time next year Rodney we’ll be millionaires! Honest!
Crazy EV world Tesla can afford % finance as selling emission credits to the opposition! Mad
How much does a credit cost ?
About 15 years ago a bloke cold called me trying to get me to invest in carbon credits. I told him no, so of course he persisted. Eventually he gave up, but called me back the following day. Part of his spiel was that he'd had a family holiday at a resort near t where I live. On questioning him about this it quickly became obvious that he'd never been near the place. That was the first and last I'd heard about carbon credits.
They still exist then? Are they worth anything?
This is a different situation, in this case the legacy makers Ford, GM, Stelantis etc can sell as many petrol/diesel as they want but they must sell a certain percentage of EV's. or they get fined £15,000 for each EV they haven't sold to meet the target. So what they do is rather than face the fine, they will pay tesla (less than the 15K) for a credit towards their target of EV's
This target is also why there are so many pre registered EV's on sale at huge discounts. They pre register them as on the books it goes down as a sale towards their target.
@@stimp9348 Thanks. I knew about the preregistration but didn't know about paying Tesla.
Keep the intro Barry
The carbon credits are indeed the real earner, got to love those meta currencies, I like Elon much more now than i used to since he bought Twitter and started mouthing off, and I'm not on it nor ever have been
I thought the vast majority of their profits were due to carbon credits sold? Carbon that makes up 0.04% of our atmosphere…
No, they have the best margins of any mass producing automaker regardless of credits. Theyre a 1.2trillion $ company meanwhile toyota is 300bill. Their valuation isnt even based off of car sales. Youre missing the forrest for the trees and so is barry.
And credits that are just made up on paper 😞
Tesla profits are down due to heavy discounts to clear out the old model Y. Its that simple.
Whilst I see so many woke people shouting say no to Tesla, I’ve just ordered 27 kw/h’s worth of battery storage, I’d buy a car from him too if they didn’t remind of a mondeo
Elon will probably be the last man standing in this particular industry . Everyone else has put all their cards on the table , so Elon can’t fail to make money at their expense .
Tesla was started to give people a choice of cleaner greener transport they are about 20 years old now, they didn't start up to sell credits to ice car making companies, that was just a welcome bonus. Toyota and Mercedes supported Tesla and could have been a major shareholder but when they saw a quick profit they cashed out! Elon musk is a world benefactor he didn't set out to be a billionaire or Trillionaire? But where is all this money? It's all in his businesses creating jobs and products the world wants to buy. It's not his fault that the established players are not good enough who have always flown in their private Jets to the governments of the day to beg for more money! Things change always, you have to adapt no-one can stay in past.
So Tesla's are cleaner and greener😂 😂😂
...anyone who thinks that EV's are cleaner and greener is completely deluded.
Greener L.O.L don't we all love that one.
So you both think one thousand two hundred million vehicles spewing poison out of their tail pipes that are estimated on the roads around the world are less harmful than about 5 million Bev's. Are you flat earthers by any chance or that the moon landings were fake😂😂😂
I've got a tesla transistor!
@@jcfallowswould an interesting comparison exhaust fumes vs EV fires and the poisonous gases the6 release. Moss Landing ring a bell. I think i would rather breathe catalytic convertor fumes. Let me know how you get on with the Hydrogen Fluoride.
What do these carbon credits do, cos last time i checked China emits 40% of the entire worlds pollution and they plan to keep building more coal plants and use gas till the end of time. While everyone transitions into EVs they will power there war machine with oil.
