I was born in Macduff spent all my childhood down beach at caves and playing at Mscduff castle sitting on hill looking across sea to bass rock good days thank you for video
Sounds idyllic. Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth!
I lived in both Kirkcaldy and Leven for a year and a half in 2015 and visited the caves!!! Thank you!!! I want to go back...
Glad to hear that they made a good impression!
Thank you.
I am descended from [Mac]Duff and MacIntosh clans. When I read MacBeth in college, little did I know I was connected to the real 'MacDuff the Crime Dog of Scotland' (as we nicknamed the character then). This is fascinating - thank you for sharing! Gorgeous view - I may add this to a future visit to Scotland.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Here because I found out recently im a descendant of the Wemyss/Weems family. So interesting! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked the video!
I am a descendant of David Wemyss and McDuff. I have my full genealogy with letters and documents. Welcome to the Clan.
hieeee
Hey… Me too. They spelled it wrong coming into the ports of entry.
I didn’t know that for years. Wemyss became Weems. I like the original version. Do you live in Scotland at present?
@@Waffles84 Hey, me too. I never knew there was so many Wemyss in the world. I hear they make great malt. Are you in Scotland?
Mark Duff here......a Scotlander living in Montana...
I'm a piper in the States and have MacDuff lineage through the Phyffes (or thus it was spelled in a Spanish census in the 1790's). My son and I sought out and found the castle ruin many years ago when it was accessible to explore. And we did. In retrospect, it was foolish and dangerous, but we enjoyed it at the time. Thanks for telling the story of the castle.
Thanks for watching!
Am from levan Fife Scotland
Have you ever made it to the castle or caves?
Love your channel. It allows me to explore my Scottish and Irish ancestry. I have Wemyss ancestry on my mother side. I didn’t understand how the Wemyss clan were descendants of the MacDuffs. I’m a little confused.
I know when my Wemyss ancestors came to America they spelled the last name wrong. In America it is spelled Weems.
I didn’t know that until I checked into it years ago. I wish the people at Ports of Entry would have been more accurate and caring. Don’t mess with my Scottish ancestry… Lol.🏴🇺🇸
My father is a direct descendant of Macduff Royal family in I don't know what my grandfather or great-grandfather name was my great grandfather fled to Jamaica in the 17-1800s from Scotland
Aye, right.
That is also Creich-fife castle. I'm a direct descend. My maiden name is Creech.
No, it is Macduff Castle. Creich Castle is not Macduff Castle. ffs!
Thanks for posting!
No problem! Hope you enjoyed the video.
