Leo came to #PengHu with his children to buy a fishing boat. Coincidentally, they came across the Lantern Festival celebration in Waian Fishing Port!
With the help of Leo’s friend, Leo got to see three different fishing boats. However, the brand-new fishing boat is costly, while the cheaper ones are in poor condition, which is a nightmare to Leo. Will Leo eventually get the fishing boat of his dreams?

Some solid boat buying advice, especially when buying a renovated or used boat: Ask for a screwdriver, remove screws from on of the captain's dashboard gauge panels, gently tilt it out; if the wires are not color coded, neatly organized, cut to proper length with fastener ends, and bundled with zip ties, RUN AWAY! Because that's indicative of the quality of work throughout the boat. If you open that dash panel to a mess of unorganized wires and eletricians tape, that boat is going to cause you nothing but trouble. Plus, wiring issues are prob number one maintenance issue... how will you ever trace and troubleshoot the issue. And the rocking and pounding of a boat underway, plus salt air, wreaks havoc on wiring connections.

As a Taiwanese myself, I feel so moved and yet ashamed watching this episode. Leo and the kids have truly explored local Taiwanese cultures that even a native like myself wouldn’t know. Thanks for the passion and love for Taiwan and the effort to bring our cultures to the world!
I'm not speaking for him, but I hear this same comment from many other Taiwanese as well. The reality is, school and work life for Taiwanese is much more demanding than it is for foreigners. Taiwan working world is soooo much more demanding and requires very long hours. So in this upside down environment, foreigners, especially english teachers, have lots more free time on their hands. Allowing them to explore and visit many places.

I really like to see Japanese fishing boats and not only Alaskan fishing boats. My question: What is the device that is mounted on the front window of the boat, where is the boat's steering wheel?
