She's doing her best! So are we! I just wish there was enough medication for both of us! s

Scott, I'm sorry to hear this about Lucky. Sounds like a tough situation. Poor girl (boy?). At bottom, Lucky's a lucky girl to have you guys who put so much into trying to help her. Don't worry about us viewers. At least, speaking for myself, I've got a stack of RGBIBs to catch up on....
(PS: Finished The Colour of Blood. Masterclass. Learned loads. What an ending!) (PPS: I am finding The Quiet American extraordinarily irritating!)

Our little dog has to have CBD oil to make it through the day, but it helps her anxiety and she seems to not be too out-of-it.
She still panics sometimes, likely the viscous shadows of existential dread passing over her.
The vet didn’t have any remedy for existential dread tho.
    Hope you figure it out!

Thanks, Derek. We heard good things about CBD from other dog owners, and gave some to Lucky for years, but it didn't seem to have much effect... maybe we'll try it again... I wish her fear was just angst but it seems deeper and more visceral...s

"Your dog stares at people". 🤣

Yeah and she really does! I've never seen a dog do it like this, and she stops and stares almost at everybody who comes near us.

It sounds like Lucky had a traumatic puppyhood and she can't forget it. Do you really HAVE to take her for walks? Can't you just take her out to do her business, then immediately go back inside? She sounds like a person with agoraphobia who's being forced to go out against her will. I think the crate sounds like a good idea - it would be her safe place. Maybe even train her to use a litter box, set up beside the crate, so she never has to go out at all if she doesn't want to. Pretend she's a house cat.
The "expert" who suggested a shock collar is an ass.

Thanks, Dorothy. We've tried everything even limiting her walks etc but she just gets scared of noises outside or in house and always finds spaces to hide in which makes her worse and more aggressive. Anyway these long walks in quiet outdoor places are helping some and at least she comes home too tired to attack us for stepping too close to one of her safe spaces! She had a good day today at training class and on walks... s

Man I’d love to see one of Lucky’s pathological stares, could make my blood run cold

Scott, you and Lucy are doing what you can for Lucky because you love her very much. Lucky is lucky to have the two of you and vice versa. I wish I was an expert on these things but I'm not. Hang in there.

Oh no Scott. Sounds like a really tough situation. Hope you can find something that finally helps. Seems like you’ve heard a lot of different things from people who don’t really know what to do.

If Lew Archer was here, he would know what to do.

Lew would find her mother and father and ascribe the blame there.
