This song never gets old.
I've been listening to it non stop
I love how some songs mature like fine wine. Yeah, he sounds a little different, but I think it’s great, and we’re blessed to have both versions.
I miss the late 90's and early 2000's.
It's a great song. Thank you.
Another very underrated Canadian band
The barenaked ladies are also underrated
Ugh, why is the first comment I have to see to start my morning. NO they’re aren’t underrated, not even a little bit. What a dumb fucking comment
I never underrated them!!! 4th best Canadian artist ever!!!
17 years of love this band...the most unique band ever. Love from South Africa ☉
Unrealistically, I expect his voice to sound the same on this live performance, still this song is one of my favourites from Our lady Peace, can't believe this song still gives me the vibes 20 years later. Good job.
I still love their songs after all this time.
live might've sounded the same as studio 15-20 years ago, he's gotten older and even some of the newer studio material he just doesnt sound the same, little to no falsetto. i bet the live version of paper moon or 'all you did was save my life' would sound similar to the studio
Yeah man that’s what happens when age kicks in they just don’t sound the same. The studio also has a lot to do with his voice back in 97, but we all get older and that’s what happened
He's way older bud.. his voice changed..
I am from the Philippines and it's still my dream to see them live :( I hope I'm able to!!!
this song is still so relevant today...the message of this song is powerful. Really hits me .
His face and voice changed yet the song remains a gem.
Loved this song in college, Spring 1998, Mississippi State University
Spring 1998, Kodaikanal, India.
This song hasn't sounded this good live since 2003. Great work guys.
2003 eh? Quite a comparison. I totally agree, hell of a performance.
The band that had a big influence on us here in Winnipeg. Thank you Raine.
Love this song. One of my all time OLP favs.
OLP!!! still love u guys always and forever
This is actually a damn hard song to sing
One of the best concerts ever, in a club or on a big stage I've seen them 4 times ..and this song changes the crowds all into singers , hard to sing like you said
Everything from their old days is hard to sing especially pushing 50
I hear people on here bagging on how Raine sings nowadays but honestly I think he's handled his voice change admirably and also that these songs sound better in his current voice.
@@thecustardguys He still sounds great. Different, but still good. He just doesn’t sing with the angst he had as a young man. Oh well, we all get older.
Missing the 90s... good old college years
Watched these guys back in the 90's in Upstate NY at K-Rockathon. Kicked complete ass then and 25 years later still sounding BADASS!!!!!!!!🤙👊
his voice changed😔 but the song never gets old👍
I kinda like this version better. Still has that unique twang that he has always had, but a warmer tone overall.
So much more distinguished
Still one of my fave songs 😍💜
Beautiful.
This song is still amazing after all these years.
Nice job, great tune and great version
Still sounds good, and still pretty excited bout seeing them live in a few months *knock on wood* BUT I'd be a liar if I said I didnt like the slightly nasal falsetto that was his voice before, probably one of the reasons why Im still obsessed with their older stuff.
From time to time someone I know will ask who the most underrated band is.. these guys make a pretty good argument.
Donkey Jota Fully agree with that. Sad thing is I'll be mentioning OLP and more than not won't even know who I'm talking about. Or they'll maybe know a song like "Somewhere Out There" and not know the band.
I'm seriously considering taking a 4.5 - 5 hour drive to Washington DC to see them play on October 2nd. The only upcoming tour dates they have listed are these 4 shows on October 1-4, and the next closest city would be Philadelphia, about 7 hours away. Really wanna see them live one time and this may be my only chance.
Ohh bliss. Still sounds so effing good!!!
Jordan Shorette - to each their own, still excited to go see them next month.
Jordan Shorette..I totally agree with your thoughts....Bob rock didn't do them any favors...,.they were on a great path until he came on board....sad really
Gracias OLP.
I think is the first song I hear of them when I was a teenager
Mine was Is Anybody Out There, off of Happiness, a Fish You Can't Catch on 120 Minutes.
Best song of olp! Great band!
Ahhhhh my youth.
Wonderful! Big influence on our band. Wow!
One my favorite bands just a different sound.
Ahh unplugged acoustic sounds pretty sweet
Raine looks so different. I love this band.
Tends to happen when you turn 50
@@christinagarner8178 wait what? He's 50? Fuck me, I'm old.
Always the best
Love it .
Great voice
Fantastic.
Damn I wouldn’t have recognized him...
So underrated.. just saying.
never got the credit or radio play they deserved in the states, which is a shame... pretty sure they're still among band royalty in Canada.
His voice has dropped a full octave over the last 10-15 years.
It happens
Actually just listened to the original his voice is on the same octave…he lost a lot of that unique raspiness and his voice sounds much thicker now.
This is the matured version
I used to love these guys in the 90's. Saw them in NY a bunch of times and met them on different occasions. They are all very cool guys and super awesome to their fans. But yes, the band has never been the same since they ditched Arnold Lanni as producer and since their guitarist Mike Turner left. Raine's singing at a lower octave so that he doesn't completely wreck his vocal chords. Sucks but that's where they are now. Their prime is behind them and I'm alright with that. I would assume the guys in the band are alright with that too. They're in their 40s with families. They've made their money and still manage to release albums, so life is good for these guys. Much respect!
His voice is not at a lower octave listen to the original…the same. It sounds different because he lost a lot of the original raspiness his voice had and it sounds much thicker now.
so good
Wow his voice dropped a lot
Very interesting. I was a HUGE fan of theirs up to "Age of Spiritual Machines", then their music felt like it turned into more mainstream stuff and I didn't like it as much...
Very happy to see them now, Raine's voice has changed but I find the difference interesting, makes the song more distinguished and refined.
“I know what you did last summer” is one of the best soundtracks and this is why.
Yoni get w the f@*king program bruh
Damn, that was clumsy.
I miss the old voice of raine
nOWaYOUT221 he always had a weird voice.
Venable i like more the voice that makes the OLP different from the other bands. ☺️
Everyone gets old, no way around it.
🎉
Why isn't this version on Spotify :'(
Sounds like hes struggling here a little bit is it just me? I know he older etc, great tune!
What happened to Mike Turner and Jeremy Taggert?
Damn why don’t these artists re schedule the appearances when their voices are gone
I was really looking forward to this live concert in 2025 until I started listening to their recent live shows and it’s terrible
Amazing Voice
These guys did good opening for Guns N Roses
Awesome song & band - just the vocals are so pitchy Live it’s a little tough to hear
He doesn’t look the same
The hell do you expect? The song came out over 20 years ago
Something is off vocally
He actually nails pretty well vocally, the problem here it's pitch key for the guitars mainly that just doesn't blend decently with his voice.
Sounds like he’s flat
Anyone other than me think this was a cover ?
No
Where is the guy that recorded this song originally? They should get the old singer back.
It's the same guy
Dude what happened to his voice, its completely gone and off.
What? His voice was unique and nasally, but thats not something most people can withstand for 20+ years. If anything, his voice has become more inline to become a better vocalist, even if it's not what you thought you'd get in 97. He's a better vocalist that I'd rather hear now than nothing at all and instead of someone straining to hit those nasally lyrics from old. He still sounds great, just in a more refined style.
His higher voice sounds waaaay better then this and it's sad because the sound was magical here
His voice is actually on the same octave…it’s just that he has lost alot of that unique raspiness to the voice and he also sounds much thicker.
Chemical engineers of Intel gotta like a band for you to be on their INTERNETvomputer programmers like my son.the science of technology. Is 2 years ahead of the satalites solar system
I was waiting for him to grind his teeth, gawd I hate that sound
I can do better than this
