This beautiful Dufour 485 Grand Large 2008 is a 3-cabin version and in very good condition.
The present owners feel this boat has the perfect balance of size, scope, and short-handed capability. For example, the interior volumes and cabins are generous by any standard. The fully equipped galley is directly adjacent to the companionway steps. One guest said: “the interior is bigger than my flat.” The cockpit and deck areas are ample for relaxing, sunbathing, and entertaining. The large Bimini (c10square metres) gives ample sun protection, creating an outside room. The engine room soundproofing makes this a very quiet boat under power. The deep keel and substantial helm wheels contribute to a very smooth, sure-footed feeling. As Dufour said: “Congratulations, you’re the owner of a real yacht."
The owners have spent magical moments on this boat, on day sails, watching regattas, circumnavigating Menorca in both directions as well as cruising longer distances to Mallorca. The Balearics have provided an almost endless variety of intimate calas to drop anchor, cook a long lunch and enjoy the evening. One year, the town of Fornells was sealed off due to several stars attending the crowded fiesta. The owners were able to arrive by sea and moor in the centre of town.
While the boat has not had a major refit, the existing systems and equipment have been maintained. For example, she has had regular hull inspections and antifouling. The most recent sand-blasting and multi-coat antifouling were completed in March 2023. The engine (808 hours) has been fully serviced each year. The generator, outboard, EPIRB, winches, 8 Spinlock life jackets, and fire extinguishers have also been regularly serviced. Local guardiennage has ensured very regular care, running the systems and equipment throughout each year. The teak deck is in good condition having been professionally sanded in June 2021 and regularly cleaned.
