Yes, you nailed them all. Most are limitation annoyances of design, like the rather slow cycle of the roof. But most of the other disliked features are safety related, with perhaps an overzealous (motherly?) design philosophy, like the need to press the button at all times to cycle the roof, pull up the windows manually after the roof is raised, the need to be around the car to do the auto cycling of the roof. People change that with a reconfigured chip, and most of those annoyances go away. I keep mine untouched to its own glory.
I agree, I hv toyed with the idea of that module that allows one touch open and close but I m still not ready for it as I like the car the way it is... like full factory settings.

There are LEDs built into the top up/down buttons. They illuminate while the top is moving and go out when completed, so you don’t have to watch the actual roof in the rear view mirror.
But yes, a chime would be nicer.

JIMBOYRULEZ , yep but most people’s fingers cover that LED so it’s got bad placement. Love my 2011 sdrive30, but definitely some odd decisions. Also an aftermarket SmartTop module will make the top up/down a single button action, rather than holding the button. In fact with mine, without comfort access, I can’t open with the key fob in stock form.
Gary Bell oh, interesting!! Correct me if I am wrong but in the later models, comfort access was standard right?!
JIMBOYRULEZ , I don’t know about that possibly. I do know that something with the roof structure was re-enforced more so it can be operated up to 25mph after the LCI which I believe was 2013+. Looks like yours is the newer facelift, because of those side marker lights. My ‘11 can only operate up to 10mph. If you have the 3 little ridges on your door handle, you have comfort access/ keyless entry and that ability to open with remote.
As Gary said, I watch the light, despite my finger being in the way, I can see the reflection. I also open the top when standing beside it if the car next to me is very close. Otherwise, I can put up with the amount of time, the hold the button issue to me is a safety feature, I can start putting the top down, decide not to and close it rather than waiting 20 seconds to open, then 20 seconds to close. Pretty sure my E85 was a little less crashy on the closing, as the top would settle in place and the hooks would then extend to secure it.
Allen Ferdinand Again none of these things bother me. I absolutely love the car and the roof. But if I had to say something negative and after thinking a lot I came up with this and it wasn’t easy. Compared to how much I love the roof the negative is not even 1 percent. But I understand your issue as well!
