More trees to be cut them 😂
I cried almost the entire episode. The writing, music, visuals and editing.. I'll probably never forget this episode.
One of the most beautifully animated episode ever. Kyoani went crazy
Kyoani set the bar so high with VE it may never be surpassed.
It is to anime what vagabond is to manga. Peak art.
This is, to this day, probably my most loved and hated episode. Every single time I watch the playwright come to terms with the loss of his daughter and the dreams they both had, it hurts so very badly. It works so well at pulling at my heartstrings.
This anime is amazing. One of my favorites of all time. But I cannot watch it again. It's simply too sad :(
Many people like episode 10 the most, but for me, this episode was just on another level. The music and animation were top-tier, and the beautifully executed scene with the playwriter and Violet facing the grief of her past actions was both heartbreaking and touching to watch. This episode was just one emotional moment to another, and I'm all for it.
Episode 10 for me really was the peak tear jerker episode. But this episode was the one that seriously broke me first for this series just because how beautiful the animation, the story, that twist really was and that episode title that was blank simply to say that there really was nothing to say at that point... just crushingly painful yet beautiful
As much as I love Violet Evergarden from beginning to end, Episode 10 just made shake my head with the way Violet acted towards the girl.. It feels like there were just no development at all for her in those moments. I swear, it's only that episode where the girl needed comfort and maybe I thought we could have some attachments between her and Anne.
Even though I know episode 10 is the most famous one (minor spoiler, but it's literally the first scene of the movie: the final 'Violet Evergarden: The Movie' sort of continues the plot of episode 10, and that movie was almost completely original in comparison to the Light Novel, so Kyoto Animation HAD to know how massively popular that episode was, it even won some poll/award for the most beautiful story in anime of 2018) and that was the peak of tear-jerking, I always consider episodes 7 and 10 as 2 sides of the same coin. If you want to portray the beauty of MOTHER-child relationship, show ep. 10. If you want to portray the beauty of FATHER-child relationship, show ep. 7. Episode 10 is arguably more tear-jerking because we literally observe how that child loses her mother throughout the whole episode, but there are only flashbacks in ep. 7 + it's an instinct to feel more sorry for the child to be left alone (ep. 10) than for an adult (ep. 7). On the other side, agree that ep. 7 is a bit more artistically beautiful/sad (like the sheer beauty of that lake crossing by Violet...) and we have the grief Violet felt about her war past... Also, maybe, the order of episodes can be a factor too, as we are even more emotionally invested in ep. 10 than in episode 7 (it's interesting, because in the original source, light novel, the story from ep. 10 is one of the very first clients for Violet, so the order anime vs. light novel is almost reversed, and I am 100% sure that the same story is even more impactful thanks to being later than, as we know more tragic stories, we know Violet more etc.).
Almost every episode is a tear jerker but episode 10 is just on a whole other level I can't wait to see her reaction to it.
I think I cried every episode from here on out😅😢
I started crying from the princess episode
I cried almost every episode from 3 on. 3-7 I cried and then 9, 11, and 12 I cried again. 10 I bawled my eyes out and I still cry like a baby.
I'm not honestly sure there was a single episode of this show that I didn't cry the first time. That was one rough night.

Violet getting to keep the Parasol is one of my FAVORITE things in all of storytelling. I LOVE when characters carry physical parts of their journeys with them. Having the evidence of their trials triumphs and all they have faced be physically present makes it impossible to ever forget that history. She similarly keeps the dog that she got in the car ride home from the hospital in her bedroom at the company and is always wearing her pin from the course she took.
Just one word to describe this episode: Beautiful
that line from the playwright "How i wish i could hear you call me that a thousand times more." gets me every time. it reminds me of a quote from air, one of my earliest animes (also made by the same studio back in the day, i recommend it along with kanon and clannad because i want you to run out of tears for the rest of your life apparently.) where a character is crying saying she doesnt want anything so long as they could stay together.
Air? As in “Air Gear?”
@@oritsejolomiokirika9913 no, look up Air anime 2005 and you should find it
This is by far my favorite episode. That dad's grief, and then this experience finally connects and understand her emotional situation.
I rarely ever cry watching any piece of media but this episode got me, specifically Violet's realization of the gravity of her past actions. This is my favorite ep of the series.
Violet learned how painful it can be for someone to lose a beloved person and now she has realized how many people feel as the writer when she killed all those soldiers in war.
From now on, how many feels and emotions do you want to put in this show ?
KyoAni : Yes
How, five years after watching this originally, am I tearing up again while watching a watermarked and edited episode?
It can’t be helped
Violet's POV : touch the water surface one step.
Father's POV : Moment of Eternity.
I'm waiting for the reaction to episode 10. That episode actually plays a part in the movie. And among all the episodes in season 1, that episode hits me the hardest
Episode 10 is brutal.
Nah that shit for real fucked me up it’s was so damn sad😭
Episode 7 is sad, especially Violet coming to terms with emotions she’s never felt before, but 10 is on a completely different level and destroys everyone who watches it.
One of the top 3 episodes for me, so emotional and impactful
oh god... here we go... i cried like a little girl this episode
When I watched this episode of Violet Evergarden for the first time back in 2020, I didn't realised it to be this much painful until I finished this series. Your reaction to this episode kind of reminded me the agony I had to endure while watching the last part of this series. So, I am truly greatful for your beautiful reaction. Furthermore, I must mention that the background music played near the end of the episode (named The Ultimate Price) kind of suited the main theme of the episode: Grief very beautifully.
Violet being excited for the kids story the guy is telling, is like shes actually experiencing something like an actual kid for once. I’m crying
Yes, the emotions never stop from here on. In fact, they're even increasing 🥰
Ah yes... This is where the emotional ride really starts
started tearing up just from the goddamn thumbnail, gotta brace myself before jumping in lmao
Violet's emotional investment in the story of the play is so adorably endearing 😊❤
There goes my "try not to cry this week" challenge 😢😭😭
this anime has been in my top 3 since I watched it years ago and i dont see it ever leaving
This episode breaks me completely each and every time.
Yeah fr fk the music. Its so good at making you cry... The anime is such a beautiful masterpiece.
大好きな物語です。ビデオにとって何回も見ました😂
何回も泣いてます。

Yup, this is the one I've been waiting for. The previous ones were beautiful but this one broke me. The father who lost his daughter is one hell of a storyline, but her jumping across the lake... It's a scene that lives in my mind rent-free. Violet accepted the challenge to jump across the water with something new: childish innocence. Just earlier she said that you can't fly with a parasol, she'd have said it if she knew she couldn't. But she wanted to. The whole episode was solid character progression on her end, but that one subtle moment of her just going for it... It was amazing.
Episode 10 is the one that breaks me.
Ahhh My fav Ep...Make's me cry everytime.😅
I'm still so conflicted if telling her or not telling her about gilbert.
Like on one hand, I am all about telling the truth to someone, especially about loved ones that passed away. They deserve the truth.
On the other hand, I completely understand why hogins didn't tell her.
She didn't think about herself at all in the beginning. Her whole world revoled around Gilbert, and she defined herself by him.
If she would have know at that time that he was no longer alive, I don't think she would have had any motivation to live... and I think that was what hogins feared, that she would just give up.
Now she already is so much more independent and self aware, that she can comprehend it differently.
He tried to wait until she was stable enough to accept grief normally but to do so you have to accept to say that you had traumatic experiences. Violet would have reacted the same if he had waited longer or even worse because she may think that she waited so long for nothing, and that her only reason for living is gone. To pass such a traumatic experience is very difficult especially since her only support system is gone. Telling bluntly wouldn't have worked either because of how she seemed "programmed" she would have either went to see their last place (and get killed there) or would have shut down. Hodgins tried to make her heal before announcing but it was too late, if I had to take the decision I would have told here before or after the OVA because it was also a subject matter that she could empathize with.
I cried for the first time in anime when she jumped over the lake
The music that's hits so hard is "Never Coming Back" and the way it gets used in the show throughout made it so that the first time you hear it in the show, episode 2, becomes very emotional. Gilbert expressing how his friend and rock for Violet is, "Never Coming Back." I would be just as happy to shake Evan Call's hand as I would be to shake Hans Zimmer's hand. For me the ability to summon both peace and sadness is unparalleled in this world.
Now that Alana is warmed up I can't wait for the next episodes
Ahhh as someone who loves watching others cry this will be a treat. Thanks for the upload
We're almost there, i can feel my tears creeping up. Anne
I totally lost it in that scene where she jumps and he remembers his daughter. Cried so much!
Having the title of the epsidoe blank was a nice touch at the end. The little things like that which would seem insignificant actually add to the emotional storytelling
this anime is one of my favorites. It's like each episode is a barometer for someone's level of empathy and humanity.
truly a great depiction of the human experience.
This episode was amazing, the animation, the ost, and how it made me feel. Perfect
Definitely a Violet Evergarden episode
I just fckn cried so much
Can't wait for the episode 10, the tearjerker
my favorite episode and commissioned a friend to paint me something for me that takes up a quarter of a wall.

My top 5 "Episodes of Vilolet Evergarden":
5° Episode 7 (this one)
4°: Episode 11
3°/2°: Episode 8 and 9
1°: Episode 10... Oh heavens, THE episode 10.
the way Violet is she don't forget any thing so she re play it all as a inter war. a good and a bad thing at the same time.
I hope for a Clannad reaction in the future 🙏 KyoAni simply built different
а ведь впереди еще 10 и 11 серия
Heya, I just want to throw in a random suggestion for an imo peak Romance/Slice of life Anime. "3D Kanojo: Real Girl" It is from 2019 and for someone like me, who doesn't like Romance to much, one of the best, if not the best Romance Anime I have ever watched. Don't know if you ever heard of the Show before, but it is definitely worth watching.
I don't know how much interest the Anime would get on Patreon and UA-cam, maybe your folks here can give your takes on it, but I would bet on it she will love it. Totally underrated 10/10 Show.
Episode 10 waiting for it's turn be like: 👹
Episode 10 waiting for you 😊😊
Getting ever closer to episode 10..
beutiful and sad story
The time has come.
Beautiful thumbnail!
After you finish with this series, I'm waiting for your reaction when watching the Movie😇
To me this episode and ep 11 both can contend with 10 for sadness.

After watching the series, you must watch the movie too
