Queen - More Of That Jazz (Official Lyric Video)
/ queenofficial
Taylor has the true soul of rock in the band. He possesses a smoky smooth voice that can transition into a towering inferno of falsettos.
He also wrote this song and played lead guitar.
@@nixeleth I didn't realise that he played/s guitar.
Never knew Roger sing here.
Christopher Jorissen Roger also played guitar in his own band, The Cross.

"Jazz" is so underrated!!! Every song is a masterpiece!
Totally agree! I remember back in 1978, my best friend bought this album and I loved it the first time he played it. When I started to convert my music collection over to CD (late 80s, early 90s), this album was incredibly difficult to find. I ended up buying a Japanese import CD of this album (at 3x the price), but it was worth every penny.
This album is definitely a masterpiece, 2nd only to "A Night at the Opera".
This is the first time I listen completely "Jazz" and I'm totally agree... I enjoy every song!
So am I so am i!!!!😂😂😂😂
It's my favorite Queen record
@@AnaSanchez-ve5xr and u r my favorite nas in THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!😀😁😁😂🤣😅😅😄😃🤣🤣😁😁😃😁😀😁🤣😅😅🤣
I just love how _Fat Bottomed Girls_ with its slow start goes in sync with the drumbeat of _More Of That Jazz_. That's a clever ending to this song.
Agree.
I love those half forgotten Queen songs that are so freaking great. Like here? The riffs? The vocals? Jesus
Last song of the album. Always thought it must surely be a hit, but no. Still have my dad's LP. Back then each album would proudly have the words "No synthesizers used".
Jesus is also a song!
@@viktorandersson4553 Agree, "Jesus" is great song or " Son and daughter". Sticking to this album, "Dead on time" and "Let me entertain you" also among my favorites.
AKA basically every roger song
Cant forget brian’s and even some of freddie’s. Cuz how every song he made as a hit, for a good reason tho. I just wish the other band members got similar treatment, theyre all so insanely tallented!
This song is incredible and absurdly underrated.
Yeah, never understood why, This took my head off first time I heard it. I was 14. LOVE what May did here.
The Jazz album as a whole is underrated. It gets most of its discussion from the naked bicycle riders poster (which is certainly worthy of discussion and praise), but it's clearly one of Queen's greatest albums. It's easily in the top 3 for me, and at times I consider it my favorite Queen album from start to finish.
More like heavy metal. Too far away from jazz.
@@pjgowtham Jazz suppose to mean sg different and much more in the context of this album, not the musical style. Try to locate the interview where Roger explains the title of this album :)

Queens Bicycle Races Video was very spicy indeed when released for their album Jazz!!
Everyone: "Endgame is the most ambitious crossover"
Roger Taylor: Hold my drumsticks
I don't get it ಥ_ಥ

Ladies and gentlemen, More Of That Roger Taylor
LeToplache007 yes just yes
Yes please yes
More please. ..
yes , ok .. more
no more….. of that roger
Love how roger seamlessly transitions from that raspy rock voice to that powerful falsetto.
Love Taylor's raw voice
Roger is the greatest singer not to be a front man.
Not in Queen but had some great songs with The Cross as the lead singer and as a solo artist, fantastic singer but cleverly he knew Freddie would sell more records as the singer.
He played guitar on this track, too.
Brian Wilson?
@Abe He couldnt go as high as Bono. Or have the same control. Bono is one of the greatest singers of all time imo
@@malcolme9780 Freddie Is the greatest Singer of All time!!
3:09 this is pure metal!
Queen is more Metal than many metal bands i see today
And they are a rock band! Iconic!
Modern Metal bands are a joke. They’ve got no feeling or anything to make them feel unique or memorable. They have the heaviness and speed of a metal band, but none of the soul.
I’m not one to sing Queen’s praises but they did have the feeling down on each of their songs. Brian was always the soft vocalist who captured vulnerability perfectly both vocally and in his guitar work, while still giving it a rock edge. Roger was the bad boy who rarely slowed down to show a soft side, and it worked perfectly in all his fast songs. Freddie could do both heavy and soft vocals, but I don’t think he did them to either extreme that Brian and Roger did, so he could do more and switch between the vocal types multiple times in a single song, with Brian and Roger complimenting with their vocals to give it what it needed. And John always had cool bass lines that fit the song like a perfectly shaped puzzle piece to complete the puzzle. John could rock when he wanted to, but he usually kept things mellow and served as the support for the rest of the songs to stand up on.
Back to the main point; modern Metal bands don’t do that. They don’t have the tightness and wholeness that Queen did, but not many bands do, regardless of genre.
Aweso: For someone not intent on "singing Queen's praises" your entire argument relies on exalting them and comparing all "modern metal" bands to your standards/admiration of Queen. No other band, regardless of genre, will ever do what Queen did because no other band is Queen. Therefore your standards are impossible to meet, which is why you dismiss "modern metal" in its entirety with your first sentence.
You are complaining that progressive rock, a subgenre which is meant to blend different musical traditions to a rock foundation, is not echoed in whatever you call "modern metal" even though progressive metal is an established subgenre and has been for over 30 years. However, by it's nature heavy metal is meant to be fast guitar-centric music so if you want heavy metal to be eclectic like Queen are, you are either listening to other bands for the wrong reason(s), or the wrong bands entirely.
For all the good songs Queen wrote, their studio albums are often inconsistent and this is certainly true of Jazz. One minute it's a proto-metal song, then a ballad, a rock song which is followed up with a funk/disco song. To me this isn't a selling point for any band using the studio album format because there is supposed to be a flow between the songs which makes a cohesive body of work from start to finish. Queen are so inconsistent in this regard that it puts me off listening to them most of the time.
@@Aweso1974 well said. Queen was the total package like no other, before or since
Because of Mercury! Haha
Am I the only one who loves Roger Taylor's stop and go and stop at the end?
LeToplache007 you just reminded me that i loved it sińce i was a little kid
no you're not the only one! (cit.)
LeToplache007 NO PROBABLY THE MOST OVERLOOKED DRUMMER IN HISTORY. IMPECCABLE TIMING. EVERY BEAT LAID DOWN WHERE IT SHOULD BE . .....
I like them. What I don't like, is than on my CD they're considered as starting on the next song.
Hell no! One of the bestest most greatest percussionists EVER!!!!
This is the Roger and Brian show. A superb song which closes their most under-rated album.
Wait, did Don't Stop Me Now not top the charts? That's criminal.
Just looked it up to confirm, the highest it got in the UK is #9... wtf, that's the best song ever made.
LieutenantJoey AGREED. Don't Stop Me Now is my favorite song of all time.
@Mike Lakefloor Backing vocals.
I don't think Brian had much if any involvement on this. It's basically Roger solo isn't it?
@@knumbugs I think Roger played the guitar in this.
Probably the most underrated song of Queen. If any other group could make such a song it would be their main hit.. but this is Queen!!
I thought one of them was The Prophet's Song and It's Late.
Sooooo many underrated and "unknown" but outrageously awesome Queen tracks. In my opinion most them didn't become hits because they're just slightly too complex to be wildly popular.
Innuendo?
I'm not that big of a Queen fan, but Innuendo is on my top songs ever.
"Ya like Jazz" -Barry B. Benson
AJAJAJA YEAH
Someone make a remix of this.
I love you
Oh god I love Roger's voice
@Flarrow Mercury RIGHT? His voice is just. Amazing
Great metal song!
Great metal riffs!
Great metal vocals!
Roger Taylor : **started singing**
Me : *Yo why tf are my clothes gone away ?*
Rodger could have been both drummer and singer
in any band he wanted!!!
He has his own band. The Cross.
Queen was the product of four talented men who had the vision of instrumental sound and writing to produce some of the world's most recognizable songs. Separated and they were just another band but they knew that. They weren't trying to recreate Queen or one up the band. May, Taylor, and Mercury did their solo thing and got it out of their system.
He also played lead guitar for this song.
I heard he turned down being the drummer for Genesis. Not sure if it's true being I read it on Wikipedia.
@@davidpradarelli4104 Yep imagine if Roger accepted their offer. Now that would be weird
One of my favourite Queen songs. According to wikipedia it's almost entirely performed by Rog.
So that voice is the same of “Galileo”?
Unbelievable.
starts off like a forgotten Beatles song from the white album then goes super nova...absolutely brilliant
Barry: "ya like jazz?" Me:"As a matter of fact I do. That Queen album is amazing"
Always one of my favorites from Queen even though i could fill a book with their great songs but this one gives Roger a chance to shine as well as Brian's guitar riffs
Taylor played most of the instruments on this.
@@Thebuilderofthings1 Yes - that is common knowledge. I'm not sure how that is a reply to the original posting......
Are you refuting it by saying Taylor played "most" of the instruments? How does that cover the issue of who did the guitar?!?
@@danguee1 It is in addition to the original post. This comes from a link where I got this info: "More of That Jazz", written by Taylor, is loop based and Taylor plays most instruments and sings all vocals, reaching some very high notes (peaking on an E5). The coda also contains short clips from many songs on the album, including "Dead on Time", "Bicycle Race", "Mustapha", "If You Can't Beat Them", "Fun It", and "Fat Bottomed Girls".
It is also stated within the album sleeve for this song. It is not a refutation but in addition to the OP.
Roger has a voice better than most rock singers... and he's the drummer.
@ashley1994 Roger taylor isn't just good, he's great. And how do you not mention Phil Collins lol?
@ashley1994 A no talent? Can you play any of his drum parts on his 70's prog material or the stuff he played in Brand X? It's safe the say that he was at one time one of the best drummers in the world and certainly a massive influence on many other great drummers. Obviously he has an excellent voice. To say he is a no talent is absurd. If anyone is the joke, it's you.
@ashley1994 He has a universally loved voice. You don't represent anyone but yourself, just for your information. It takes a lot for you to hate somebody but you hate Phil Collins because you don't like his music....makes sense. You are completely irrational and obviously full of shit. Of course you can't play any of his material. You are a hack and a no talent. Phil collins was objectively a talented and technically proficient drummer. It's a matter of objective fact and nothing you spew out changes that. Yes, you are a joke and a toxic wench. A joke as in a clown 🤡 that makes a fool of herself.
@ashley1994 You're writing walls of cap locks text lmfao 🤣😂 *YOURE* *COPING* *AND* *SEETHING* . He's loved by prog music fans and pop music fans a like. Millions don't hate him. That's objectively false. You are full of shit once again. You claim to hate him but you know what his daughter has to say. I think Phil and I live rent free in your head 😆🤣😂. You are one of the most hateful little tw#ts I've ever come accross. I hope you don't blacken your daughters heart and turn her into a witch like you.
@ashley1994 You couldn't be any less classy, kind hearted, or compassionate. You openly admit to hating people for no reason. You are a witch and your heart is as black as it gets. Walls of caps lock text is the definition of *COPING* and *SEETHING* . Phil Collins owns you. I highly doubt you have a single degree or are a psychiatrist. They don't behave the way you do.
What a riff
Axe work
And that voice
Main ingredient for the Queen sound
"Just more, more, mooooooaaAAAAAAAA of that jazz"
- Roger Taylor
Sexiest voice ever.
this is one of their best songs, its killing me every time. long live Roger Taylor!:)
such a heavy song, love it love it love it. Queen are so versatile and amazing
Honestly, most songs sang by Roger are as much of a master piece as any sang by Freddie, not to mention the ones he has written.
3:19 Top 10 Anime Crossovers
ONLY FOOTBALL GIVES US THRILLS, ROCK N ROLL JUST PAYS THE BILLS
Put the 10 album tracks Rog wrote and sang for Queen in the 70's together as a playlist & you have the greatest rock n roll album for youth there never was. Try it, then stick it in your car. It'll blow your mind. The guy is a true rock n roll legend with one of THE GREATEST rock vocals of all time & in my view made the best solo albums of any member of any of the world's super groups. As a complete body of work his career output is second to none - check the dude out - Strange Frontier or Electric Fire both brilliant albums to start discovering the real gems in his canon.
It never fails to amuse me how tongue in cheek Roger's songs are. Almost like he is mocking the rest of the band in his songs. I think that was the reason they all hated "I am in love with my car". I think it was a dig at Freddie.
the talent in this band is insane..so love Rogers raspy powerhouse pipes
I know why you're here.

*THIS* *SONG* *IS* *REALLY* *GOOD* ❤️
Best track on the album.
Whenever I listen to this song, I love waiting for that bit in the middle where all of the songs from Jazz are mashed together.
Such a cool way to represent the album in its closing song.
Moooooore Roger!
Hells yeah! What a way to end a song!!! Liked this. Very much.
The highlight for me is near the end when we get the "recap," of the album, or most of it anyway. If you're playing it off CD you probably think, oh the disc is dirty or your player's messing up. But if you're playing it on LP it scares the life out of you when it happens. At least it did so to me when i first heard that part, i was playing it off record and i thought my deck had gone absolutely belly-up. Had to play it again to convince myself it was part of the album.
Thats riff sounds alot like master of puppets Metallica must of been influenced by this song.
+Ryan Weist Indeed Metallica has claimed that Queen had influenced them a lot :-)
listen to the queen-song „stone cold crazy“. itˋs supposed to be one of the first metal-songs.
metallica have been playing that song for years at their concerts and even got a grammy for it.
Ryan Weist Tentement Funster, another Taylor sung Queen song inspired nothing else matters by Metallica
Ryan Weist I CAN HEAR THAT TOO
How could. More of that jazz sound like master of puppets? I think master of puppets sounds like more of that jazz. Jazz came out in 1978. Puppets came out in 1985.
His voice is so beautiful
yo wtf this song sick! why haven't I heard it before!!!
Im Awkward
Because you didn’t buy all their albums. There are loads of other hidden classics.

Such a great song for the end of an album,, Love that guitar
Omg the twist in the middle!!! I LOVE IT
Once again we see a epic song ignored by the critics and it is one word: AWSOME
Was lucky enough to see them in 1978 on this tour; LA Forum; changed my life...CHEECH and CHONG 'opened'!
I really enjoy listening to this song. I love Roger's vocal range. I'm amazed that he played the instruments on this track... Roger Taylor is an amazing musician.
And he was/is so sexy too....the whole enchilada. All of queen were such talents! Love them all
Definitely my favourite Roger-song! And he plays most of the instruments here! And the voice... Just a perfect piece.
Naked and raw... just the way he likes it. Love it.

Who else listens to this on full volume and always gets scared at 3:19?
I love the random picture of Brian at the end
I like queen and the name fits well. And the sound and stly is different. Not one band stands out like queen. Freddie was a good singer. I don't think there is one soul on earth that can replace him. Put anyone up front to act and sing like Freddie. No one can. He is one of a kind. Great performer.
It’s just me or this song inspired Master of Puppets?

Linda canción! Roger tocó casi todos los instrumentos acá.
He is such a great talent.
Menos la guitarra, pero gran voz y por supuesto la batería.
this song is so underrated
Such a great end to the album. A recap of everything
When he sing 'how the days seem long'...
Like a football player who is rushing into the net. Operatic, heavy, smoky. Drowse and More of that jazz, what a wonderful contrast!! His musical muscle is strong and wide like an eagle.
This an amazing song to end album.
Queen almost on every album had great openers and fantastic songs to end an album on a appropriate note
Love that dirty guitar. And Rogers voice. Amazing.
This song!!! Firstly, I love the idea a lot, and there's his voice, Brian's riffs!!! I hope I hear it on their tour this year:)
Ciril Zupan not Brian’s riffs , Roger played all of the instruments and sang all of the vocals . A really talented musician .
This is so heavy!
this song is the perfect definition of art

Whenever I play Red Dead 2 PvP, I put this album on and blast this song, along with Let Me Entertain You and Dead on Time. Really gets you pumped when shooting at other cowpokes and outlaws.
A musical boss rush at the end
2:19 Is my absolute favorite thing on this earth.
I love roger Taylor’s vocals in this but that medley is amazing also Brian is killing it
Roger actually played most of the guitar on this one :)
Oh wow really, I knew he played guitar but I always thought it was Brian in this song.
I was floored to learn Roger Taylor single handedly created this entire masterpiece. Bought the album when it came out. This seriously hard rockin' out song became my instant favorite, but one given the least amount of airtime on the radio. Would've loved to have seen Roger Taylor and Eddie Van Halen collab on a project back in the day. This album and Van Halen's debut album were both released in 1978.

That opening guitar before the vocals is low_down, brilliant.
