- If you have tight ankles, you almost certainly need to stretch your calf muscles, specifically your soleus and gastrocnemius muscles.
HOW TO:
• Stand in a runner’s lunge with both heels down.
• Back leg straight, front leg bent to control intensity
• Hold for one minute
• Bend your back leg but keep your heel down
• Hold for a second minute
• Repeat the same routine on the other side

I feel like you're speaking directly to me. I've dealt with an extremely tight calf and ankle ever since I tore the ACL "upstream" from them.
Thank you!
We're glad the video resonated with you! Dealing with tightness after an ACL tear can be challenging. Hoping for your recovery!

When I try to stretch the soleus, I feel like I'm stretching the achilles. Is there a way to do it so it focuses more on the soleus?
Some tips to remember: When bending the front knee, keep the back leg straight and your heel on the ground.
Lean your hips forward to feel the stretch in the soleus
