Good video, excellent analysis. The point Tom made about the lead foot turning in is something that can be seen in Basketball take off. Great work Verky.
The lead foot turn in is very common with two foot take offs (gather steps) in basket ball and volley ball the idea being to create a better block and to decrease ground contact time of the jump.
One underrated and crucial part that most people miss (including myself), is the arm swing. As soon as his hands take off the wall, he swings his arms up in a circular motion. Most people just leave their arms behind until they land. The arm swing seems and feels awkward and reckless, but it can add a little bit of distance to the jump. Basically, this upgrades the kong pre from a double jump to a triple jump.
I grew up playing basketball, and that side step-in that you're talking about with the kong is a great blocking mechanism used to transfer forward momentum into upward momentum. If you watch athletes dunking you will see this a lot.
@@EzzeSoy yes, thats exactly what I meant. Kong pre and double kong are basically the same difficulty, some say kong pre is harder because you must bring your hips forward in the air (double kong is obviously scarier tho)
When I saw the thumbnail I thought "huh, that spot looks familiar" what he'd the video and it was the tampa spot! Very exciting stuff, wouldnt believe someone could make that without seeing it, props!
Was cool to see you callout the inward foot. I've notice on my biggest kongs I do the same and have been considering whether that's a good/bad thing. For the past 2 years I've been dealing with cartilage damage (fairly similar to Res') in my takeoff leg.
Sick video guys! Maybe an interesting topic for another video would be on the different methods of landing a cat leap/armjump. There's the hit it like a precision method and drop down vs the hit it and slide down method, I'm trying to figure it out myself still since I'm a noob lol.
actually suggesting @pilgrimthewitchfinder, might have closer kong to verky, but for sure bigger double kong he almost kong pre the brighton running pre in which jayden clark broke his pelvis
I have one thing he could improve (at least on this kong-pre) Caleb, in a Rilla Hops blog post, talks about the kong tech, and he mentions the shorter the time you're in the air between you take-off and your hand-to-wall contact, the better it is (because you don't lose vertical speed at all). That's probably fucking hard to do after a sprint like that, you'd have to tuck harder, but Travis stays like 2 frames, hanging in the air I loved it, I'm gonna watch your other breakdowns, that's awesome
90% sure that Toby Segar's double kong world record (which he also kong pre'd) is slightly longer than this one. Got a guy measuring it again to make sure.
Nice one boys! Very interesting, I didn’t know some of those things 😂😂

Verky is a GOAT in the making. Already legendary at 19.

Now THIS is the parkour nerd content I'm lookin for...
Toby remains my king of kongs ;) Time for Storror to go on another usa trip.
I could listen to your nerdings all day
Amazing breakdown, very insightful!!
love it. the inward facing front foot was a bit of a revelation
I'm so glad that you guys did a video on this!

It’s 12ft exactly
Inside edge to inside edge
Is the standing pre ever possible? Or the standing plyo?
@@denester1 the standing long jump world record is over 12ft, so it could be possible
@@denester1 yeah and it’s been plyoed by a few
@@denester1 - @MaxwellHennasby might have some insight on some other challenges there

The stuff about the kong footing reminds me of the penultimate step
Ay. My comics in the bathroom
What about Toby's kong pre in netherlands? (The one he doubled he also did the kong pre first)
Someone get toby on the line.
They did mention it at the end. But i dont know the distance. Il do some digging.
Absolutely loved the bathroom shot.
Love this breakdown
Toby Segar once said, that if you can cat pass a gap, you can 100% double cat pass it. Just imagine lol
If u can kong pre it, u can double kong it? I dont really understand (im Argentinian, i speak spanish so)

@@karolkonieczny9130 Maybe they take the same power, buy since the technique is different i think double kong is harder to do.
BRO that's really big. He's a beast. Is that really the LONGEST kong pre in the history? Legendary!

Such a good video idea 👍👍👍 definitely more of these!

yeah same i wonder if its good or bad, my intuition tells me its bad bc its not straight but idk

Isn’t that like 14 ft?

That sideways foot is really interesting. I wonder if it actually helps :D

Oh shit you mentioned it right as I pressed send
Please let us know how far it is!
4:31 what's wrong with crossing arms?
I wanna see a V vs swag
I’m waiting for Toby to double kong it
do dom's kong front pre at imax!
It took him only 4 attempts to stick it! I am the one who filmed this video
I also thought of Spain for the GUP boys and their early 2010s catpass standards.
There is another kong pre that is been tried by a guy and done by another guy which should be the biggest done outside
Its not been posted yet tho
so goood¡¡
