Glad to help Joe..its pretty straight forward and should be able to knock it out pretty easily.
@@heybruh3274 unfortunately, I have a 17. I don't have a key fob.
The work to make all these video is paying off cause it sure has helped me and all the firefighters I work with plus you’ve gotten me hooked on Ciro lights but due to injury I am having to switch to a CVO Tri Glide almost all the Ciro lights videos are for the baggers and they are great but now i am going into a whole new set up in the ass end any tikes in the pipe line for you even Ciro has hardly any trike videos
I really appreciate the support! And I try to get one in here but there isnt many around me...I have a good friend that has one but he is several hours away so its hard to get down here. I did some freewheeler stuff and always looking for trike stuff just need a bike and someone who needs work done so I can shoot it.
Hey Steve. Wanted to thank you for all your videos you show. Your instructional videos really help me with my great job. The only thing is that the rear caliper on an 02 heritage Softail classic does not come off so I had to figure out how to get those pistons pushed back in. But again you gave me the confidence to do my first real wrenching. Thanks again
aah yes the older styles are a bit different but im glad you got it lined out and the videos were a help! thats what its all about and thank you for the comment too! Much appreciated!
Great video!
thank you sir!
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.....😎" Love my Dakota Digital. My OEM speedo was off about 8 mph and the Dakota Digital system allowed my speed to be right on!
Thank you! And yes the OEM Odometer on the bike was 2 miles off from the computer on the bike...I manually put the milage in 3 times and the gauges changed it to the actual milage on the bike which was actually 2 miles less than what the OEM one read. Kinda crazy lol
@@sikbaggers Mine was more about the OEM speedometer so when I was going 80 it was reading about 74 mph. That was crazy but the digital allowed for corrections to match your actual speed to the speedometer.
Steve your videos are the best. I try and watch most all of them. Also advanblack is top notch. I have a bunch of their stuff.
Thank you carl! Much appreciated sir!
Definitely SIK!! Steve your install skills are 2nd to none, well explained and love that you always put the torque spec right on the videos and your editing is top notch! Where does the air pressure show up? Is it a setting you have to go to or is it just displayed somewhere on one of the gauges all the time? I don't have a gauge for my air ride and don't like the ones that mount to the rocker box. Plus Dakota Digital is just badass, think you just sold me on them for my 21 SGS. Cheers from NW Iowa!
Thank you Douglas! Much appreciated sir. The large gauges are broken down into 3 sections..one large (MPH or Tach) and then below that, you have 2 customizable lines. There are about 10 options you can put on those lines. Such as Trip, A Trip B, Miles to Empty, Front/ Rear Air, Etc...You choose what goes on those lines and can be easily changed to your liking.
I have these in my 2014 SGS and love them. Just a tip on the clock setting on them as it frustrated the hell out of me when daylight savings hit and I tried to change the time using the gauges settings. The clock has to be changed on the radio unit head and the gauges read that. The gauges will let you adjust the time in their settings but when you hit save it reverts to the radio head time. If anyone is looking for a very detailed video on the settings on the gauges a guy call "windsurfed1" does a 25 min video on them that was a huge help. Great video as always Steve. Would have save me a couple of install headaches.
Hey Paul! Thanks for checking it out! And thank you for the awesome tip! I only set up the basics on this unit for my buddy so I never really got that far but that is important information! I actually thought about doing a separate video for the app and set up as the video was already running kind of long but just ran out of time to do it. Im still learning things from these comments that I never would have mentioned so thank you!
Thanks!!!
Thank you for checking tout the video ...glad it helped!
I have them on my 20, Tri Glide. They are nice.
Hey guys great videos and info on all the different projects you’ve done. I’m reaching out to ask a question about Dakota gauges. Do you guys know how to get to the screen to enter security PIN, I’ve asked Dakota they didn’t help. Thanks
Leo
According to some other viewers there inst a way to get to your pin number anymore and this was overlooked by dakota or they just couldnt get it work with these gauges.
You have the best vids for making the install look so easy. I have been thinking of buying the Dakota digital gauges but was not sure if i wanted to install, no i will 100% do the install. Thanks for the great vids! The only part i am not sure of is how do i get the mileage that is current to the new gauge? is it automatically saved in the ECM and will appear automatically?
Thank you! And yes it is saved in the ecm and will load into the gauge.
Steve can you show how gagues work with the air ride
Nice 👍🏽
Thank you for checking it out!
Nice setup. What handle bars are those?
they are the 10: LA Choppers Twin Peaks amzn.to/3ENGArP
Great show as a;ways When you moving to florida?
lol I wish I was!
@@sikbaggers Id have all kinds of work for you lol
Would LOVE to have Dakota Digital Gauges on my 2016 Ultra Limited.
Thank you for checking it out David! And I agree...Im looking again for my RG
Steve as always OUTSTANDING VIDEO. Only wish you would have went through the different face colors that are available on them.
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah sorry about that, the video was already so long but ill add it into my RG video if I do it. BUT, that being said it lets you change the colors via the app, you can literally change it to any color and color combo...the top large number can be one color and the bottom lines can be another. There are about 10 preset color combos or you can customize it to your liking.
@@sikbaggers ...Steve on another question...on the guage setup do you have to run the oil temp. Or can that guage be used for something else??
@@sirsloth8579 You cna get duel accessory gauges that show 2 lines on the side gauges but you have to purchase those, so I think the best way to do that is buy your gagues al a carte, and select which ones you want. Im sure Dakota could probably answer that question way better then me..but from what I see on the website you can pick and choose from this page www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=772/category_id=707/mode=prod/prd772.htm
Hey Steve, great video. Question, I have dirty air ride system front and back but no gauges (been adjusting by feel); for these gauges do I need to install the air ride portion? I should so I have solid numbers to look at but just wondering if I NEED to do it. Have a manual center stand so no need to do any electrical connections for that. Thanks.
Hey....so I never ran a gauge on either of my bikes until I got one for the rear air ride on the dirty air kit I did...always did it by feel..and Ill be honest with you..I never look at it! lol Still just do it by feel. If I get these gauges for my bike I wont be adding the air gauge section...I already know I wont mess with it.
So if i have air ride on front & rear will i need two separate sensors? Or do i just plug up the blue lile you did the green as well?
Video Idea!! Install of the new Shark fairing on 13 and earlier.
Well a few buddies and I went down this road a couple years back...it can be done but its very expensive to do...and its not easy to do.
The stock classic look are great. Digital looks cool tho, but i'm staying with Harlel design with this.
im with you...i like the stock gauges myself.
How do you read the factory codes or you the pin with these gauges?
boy that's BAD ASS !!!!, I've been looking for white faced gauges for my 07 ultra classic , but $1700 is a stretch right now.
Yes..ive seen several brands and all pretty expensive but I bet there was a ton of R&D that went into making these so I understand the cost for sure.
The factory gauge faces are fairly simple to swap out. Contact your local HD parts department for the cost of the white gauge faces.
@@sprintcar-acematt5175
@@sprintcar-acematt5175 thanks ill look into that !!!
Learning in progress
Great video. Not for my bike but, that looks really nice and clean. Diggin that shirt, need one just like that ! Different name of course! Lol. Have a good one buddy !
Thanks for checking it out Mike!
Thanks you david! Yeha im about to get new ones made up with the new logo! Ill let you know buddy!
@@sikbaggers 👍
Steve, you stated to torque the gauge screw to 8 to 12 inch pounds but do you use any blue Loctite?
no loktite on those...honestly 8 to 12 in lbs is hand tight.
Can you tell me what the holder for the gauge fuel and volt gauges is called? Also possibly where I can get new ones?
Those are just called Back clamps, You can really only get those from HD...you'll have to go to a store and order these parts numbers, 69200258 BACK CLAMP, GAUGE (LEFT) and 69200257 BACK CLAMP, GAUGE (RIGHT) Double check with the HD parts manager that's the right one for your year bike...not sure what year you have but im 99% positive its the same for 14 and newer bat wing fairings.
Are those leds lights around the inside gauge bezel?
yes its a gauge bezel and they are from Ciro but it seems they quit making that bezel with the led lights
Hey great video. Got a question about my install which I had done at a rally by an authorized dealer. Ever since I get error code U0156 shows up. I contacted DD and they sent a new main gauge. I installed but still get that error. Clear it and it goes away for a while but comes back. Any ideas? Thanks!
Thats a lost comms error...I would start by checking all of the pins in your plugs...you could have inadvertently bent one of the pins..ive seen it happen quite often. Also make sure the pins are pushed fully out and you dont see one pushed in farther then the others. If that doesnt fix it, I would pop the old ones back and see if it goes away..if it does you know its the gauges. I know its a pain but worth a try. If that doesnt fix it I would find them at a rally and make them deal with it.
How does the new gauges read the fuel level without plugging in the fuel side wire harness?
I dont know what you mean jason..12:40 both sides are plugged in
Awesome vid... Would like to bring my Road Glide to you. I'll be in touch definitely... = )
Thank you so much for the kind words!

I put the DD gauges in my Road Glide, I really like them.I just wish they were brighter in day light conditions. Is there any way to make them brighter?
Hey Mike...I was wondering about that, as I couldn't get them out in the sun here..it was pretty overcast here when he picked up the bike. . I even told him he may have to play with the colors once he rides it to make sure he can see them in the daylight. I really only saw the auto adjusting lights options and didnt see anything on making them brighter. Only thing I can suggest is changing the color. That may help.
@@sikbaggers I tried a different color selection but could not see a substantial difference. it seems to take a big direct sun angle to make it go into day light mode? Thank you for your help!
@@mikespencer237 The gauges will change to black numerals on a white background in bright or direct sunlight.
@@sprintcar-acematt5175 Thanks Matt, it does do that if the sun is directly on them. I just wish overall that they were brighter. I do like them and all of the additional info that is accessible. Thanks again!
Mr Steve doesn't look like these will work with my thrashin gauge relocation. those extra 3 connector on right side might be blocked off (its made for stick gauges that the one connector) also bummed can't get your advanblack lithium battery. Anyway I can get one? Not asking for handout. I will pay
Hey Jim...yeah I dont think they will work...and the battery is on hold at this time. We should have it again soon.
Where can I get that power screw driver?
i got mine from amazon, and youll see under the description it says frequently bought together, thats the battery and charger and its cheaper to buy it that way rather than buying the package amzn.to/414UVcu
Never understood the appeal about having big round gauge holders then putting in small square digital gauges
Its certainly not for everyone sir. Just another option. thank you for checking it out.
@@sikbaggers I watch all your content. Thanks for the uploads
What is the model number for those gauges you are installing?
Right here..cheaper for some reason on amazon...thats where we got them amzn.to/4bRtPvF model MLX -8414
can you still use your security code with theses gauges?
not sure... I would call dakota
I love these gauges, what I don't like is if you are wearing "polarized" sunglasses it makes it difficult to view the gauges
Thats very interesting...I always wear polarized...so thats great info to know! Thank you!
UPDATE -- So Gatorz eyewear has these available --- OPz - Optimized Polarized for full visibility of digital screens. Plus they are a Veteran org and the product in made in America. BTW, I did not get mine for free, I paid for them-- just an FYI--
whewwee! Steep price on those but they do look cool. I have a pair of solarized glasses and it did make them a little easier to see in the daylight
🤩🤩👍✌
Thank you for checking it out!
😎👍👍
thank you Darren!
Where can I get those tank emblems
Thanks for checking out the video..Get these from JH Choppers or Detroit Choppers! Both have great cvo badges that you can get in several colors or chrome
@@sikbaggers thank you, love the videos keep up the great work.
@@sikbaggers could you make a video on how to install the emblems? And get them straight?
@@bassmastertv8651 yes I can...when I get another set to do I will shoot a video on it. Both of my bikes have them now but I get some in every now and then to do on other bikes.
Any idea why my gas light is blinking while riding but it says gas is on 99%?
its gotta be in the gauge or the connector. unplug it, check your pins and reset the connector. If it still does it call Dakota
@sikbaggers okay I'll give that a go. Thanks man!
I went with KOSO, What a mistake that was, need a decoder ring to decipher the hieroglyphs to set gauges up.
I had seen those in the past...are they really hard to set up?
@@sikbaggers Yep, unless I got a bad setup. Toggle thru the menu and you get these weird symbols instead of, "mileage setup, clock setup". Had my kid try, ya just guess and press buttons until the stuff you want changed, changes. Joke.
Man I wish my bike didn't have ABS. Would make hiding my air ride solenoids and wiring so much neater.
I did the air ride on this bike and several others, plus mine. here is where I hide all that...abs or not, Under the right side cover where your abs is, look behind that battery and in between the fender. There is small triangle section that all of your modules can go in. The best way to do it is remove the battery, tuck it in there and then zip tie it up in the hole so you can pass the battery back in without hitting the wires. Excellent place to hide all that and keep it out of the way.
I wish I could just buy the speedo/tach.. But they're dumb and only sell the entire kit. 😂 Ugh
