    No doubt being financially free and not having to worry much about health care and other expenses especially in retirement cannot be overemphasized, making smart plans and setting up diversified investment portfolios is quite essential.

    Financial planning is like navigation. If you know where you are and where you want to go, navigation isn't such a great problem. It's when you don't know the two points that it's difficult

    A Caribbean island would be the last place I would retire to. I need change. I knew this. I sold everything, retired and bought a motorhome at 52. I travel the country searching out beautiful sights and weather. I spend the winters in Florida usually. One year I spent it in Arizona. That was 7 years ago and I am still enjoying it. I went on 9 cruises last year. I have a 23 day cruise booked for April in the Med. But to each their own.

      Your life sounds awesome. 23 day cruise sounds good too. Do the Caribbean island thing. We had a great time. It was just expensive and not our forever place.

    I can totally relate to not knowing what your day will look like when you retire. I went from 100 mph to 10 mph in 2 months and found that the things that I wanted to do to occupy my time were expensive!
    Didn't plan for that. Now I'm looking for a side hustle to keep myself busy and make the extra spending money. Good video.

      Thank you! What kind of stuff have you been doing. I've been playing some pickle ball and doing a lot of fishing. My friend has a boat so when 4 of us go out on the boat it only costs about $30 a piece for gas. But, I've been traveling a lot too and it ain't cheap. But, my wife has a knack for finding good travel deals.

      We play tennis and go fishing quite a bit. We also have a sail boat we take on trips but the hot summers in SW Florida are tough. Not much fun being outdoors for the summer and not much to do inside. We should get a motorhome and travel up North where it is cooler but I didn’t plan for that🤣@@TheRetirementality

    Exactly. I have more than enough to retire based on my current spending, but my activity now revolves around making money. When I retire it will revolve around spending money. So part of planning has to be to figure out how much more spending I'll have to do in retirement not to get bored.

  • @missyconner306
    @missyconner306 5 місяців тому

    Not to mention your Florida house flooded! Stuff happens for sure. Thinking about what retirement should look like for each of us should be age related too. Retiring earlier in my life would have been more boring because of my ability to be more active than I am now, not to mention the expense which you covered. At my current age, I am happy with a less active lifestyle partly because I lived life to the max while I was able and had the opportunity and money to do it. I haven’t missed out at all. I believe you are spot on. Retirement “looks like” will evolve after ultimately retiring, even if retiring early.

      Yea, I had the flood in the first version of the this video but I had to re-shoot the video because of a lighting problem and I forgot to mention it the second time. Once you get the new knee you'll be running around everywhere.

    Living in Georgia 60# of the women even in their 20s weigh more than me at 6’1 225. Past that it’s always been a good life to never get married and no children. Exceptional life, but women don’t understand we will never marry them once they’ve let Chad or Tyrone waste their beautiful years. I’m over 50 and 50 year old women need to have grandchildren along with being married for decades.
