It's amazing how well this movie was done because I watched it as a kid and loved it and even know I still re watch it again and again. My favorite movie of all time and what I mean by well done is that even with the animation done in 2002 it still looks good now.
There is nothing like hand drawn animation, I wouldn't mind DreamWorks going back to hand drawn, this movie, Prince of Egypt, El Dorado were great memorable movies, my childhood
I remember watching this trailer on my Shrek VHS a MILLION times. My friends and I, who used to be horse lovers, were so, SO excited for this to come out. I used to follow the blogs in its development. My best friend and I watched this in theaters. Pretty sure I cried.
This is my all time favorite movie. I loved it when I was a kid and I still love it now. It sparked my love for horses when I was very young. But up until recently when I watched this movie again with a bit more historical knowledge under my belt, I didn't realize it took place in the 1800s. In the beginning of the movie he says "this place that would come to be called the old west" which was denoted as taking place roughly between the 1860s and 1890s. The tension between the army and the Lakota tribe, style of soldiers' uniforms, as well as the cowboys in the film are also evident to this. Its amazing what you can see from a movie when you watch it more than once.
I hadn’t seen it since I saw it in the theaters as a kid, and I just watched it today with my own children (it’s on Hulu). I forgot how great the music, the animation, and the sense of freedom it has.
This trailer was quite possibly the best use of the music I've ever seen. It fits so perfectly with the visuals, it's hard to imagine it any other way.
I saw this trailer every time I watched this shrek vhs I had. I didn't know what the movie was but certain images have stuck with me. It was after seeing the nostalgia critics review of this that I recognized the horses running. God I want to see this Movie.
I remember watching this movie everyday in daycare. When we were almost to the end, my mom would always come and pick me up, but I wanted to stay. One day I did end up watching the full movie and it was beautiful. Those were the good memories.
Song for this trailer is "Tryouts" by Jerry Goldsmith orignally from the score for "Rudy" soundtrack. But has been used in other movie trailers as well including, Angels in the Outfield and some movies which escape my memory right now.
This movie shaped my personality when I was a kid.. I will never forget how it made me feel when I first watched it . After all these years, I still watch it whenever I feel down and hopeless.. Great soundtrack collaboration by the talented Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams. Simply, a masterpiece!
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron turns 20 today!!! I remember i saw it in theaters in the Adirondacks Memorial Day weekend with my sisters Some of the CGI is still in early stages but the hand drawn animation is spectacular Great voice talents from Matt Damon, James Cromwell A cute children's flick soft soundtrack to fit with the horse's journey the political agenda may get somewhat argued over though still its a sweet, relaxing film that the family will swoon over a true being's spirit can never be broken and never tamed
Watched this movie today for the first time with my 4year old child and never in a million years would i think i would cry multiple times during the movie! Such a great movie
I love that this movie’s history. “What do you mean the technology doesn’t exist?!!?” *proceeds to somehow merge hand drawn animation with digital like a BOSS*
2002 really gave us some awesome movies! I mean just to name a few: •Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron •Spider-Man •Ice Age •Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers •Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets •Lilo & Stitch •Treasure Planet •Road to Perdition •We Were Soldiers •John Q •Reign of Fire (I wasn’t sure whether or not to include Attack of the Clones because I know that’s one of the most hated Star Wars movies)
here some of list films that came out in 2002 these aren’t my favorites just to mention 1.blade 2 2.signs 3.resident evil 4.insomnia with al Pacino and robin Williams 5.scooby doo 6.the ring 7.28 days later 8.the Bourne identity 9.men in black 2 10.8 mile 11.gangs of New York 12.triple xxx with vin diesel 13.spy kids 2 14.equalbarlium with Christian bale it’s like kinda of like the matrix but in crappy way 15.the transporter here you have it all the films that came out in 2002
As Marty Mcfly said in back to the future: “I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it.” Attack of the clones wasn’t appreciated as much as the phantom menace wasn’t either, but looking back at it now the fans have come to love all the prequels. Especially after what Disney did in the sequels, the prequels are masterpieces compared to the sequels
the horrific series and trailer for the sequel drove me back to this trailer. seeing the atrocity that has been done to spirit, I ponder what has happened to movies? What has happened to my generation? This is just bs.
If you don't mind my saying so late, Oh My God YES! Jerry Goldsmith's music from the 1993 film "Rudy" seems MADE for the movie "Spirit"!! In some ways it's even better than some of Hans Zimmer's music! Goldsmith's music was almost too well-chosen - - it "sings" of "America", "wide open spaces", energy, and freedom so exquisitely and emotionally! I love it!
seraphim same.I loved this movie.I remember singing along when the songs played.I miss those days.I sadly lost my copy or it.I hope I can find it again
I watched this movie one time as a kid and was so overwhelmed with my feelings that I haven't rewatched it since because I always feared I would pass out from the emotions... might give it another go now, at 29 yo. Wish me strength.
I watched this movie everyday when i was a kid, i remember the soundtrack for it and the scene the music is from, this movie is the best one, i hope my kids will enjoy watching it as much as i did as a kid
Finally found this, thought I was having my own Mandella effect remembering this when no one else did. "ya Spirit, the horse movie, used the Rudy theme in its trailer"
Best movie ever ive watched it so many times and still get thoses tingles i love this movie! I wish to be as wild as a wild horse one day but i gotta grow up first
Had to come back here after seeing the new movie trailer to remember how good this used to be.

Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron trailer
This film never fails to make me cry like a baby! No matter how many times I watch it
Just rewatched this today! Cried within the first 10 mins. The music makes the emotion in this movie so powerful!
Omg same
It's brings back my childhood and it makes me sad.
I always cry in the scene where they leave together
This one, and El Dorado get to me.
this is the Rudy music lol
I remember watching this trailer on my Shrek VHS a MILLION times. My friends and I, who used to be horse lovers, were so, SO excited for this to come out. I used to follow the blogs in its development. My best friend and I watched this in theaters. Pretty sure I cried.
I also used to watch this trailer over and over on my Shrek VHS! Just eager for the movie to come out! Good times!
I still sometimes pop in Shrek on VHS to watch this trailer.

Along with Bryan Adams LOL

It’s impossible not to get emotional watching this. There will never be movies like this again. Those were the days! ❤️😭💔

This makes me cry just remembering how much I loved this as a kid 😭
We grew up with movies like this and they expected us not to be brave.
I feel like they don’t make movies like they used to.

This movie is such a deep reflection into the spiritual world
this was my childhood
This is my child hood lol
Never noticed until now that the clouds in the opening shot of this trailer are in the shape of horses running. Nice detail there animators.
I never noticed as a child that the horses have eyebrows lol
Kit_Kat they don’t but it adds expression to the horse
Same with me when I watched "Lady and the Tramp". lol
Y’all dumb
lol
Real horses don’t

"Tryouts" is the reason this trailer and the Angels In The Outfield trailer always gave me goosebumps. Best trailer music ever, imo.
Exactly

Great soundtrack collaboration by the talented Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams.

Oh my god, the nostalgia...
Yes
DreamWorks did very well by choosing Bryan Adams to sing all of the songs
NAh, it was Hans Zimmers music that made the film.
@@solidn6 Correction: Hans Zimmer did the score of the movie but Bryan Adams did the songs
@@tammyjej Bryan Adams wrote the songs, but Zimmer composed the music for the songs.

I've been waiting so long to find this. It brings back memories of the VHS Pocahontas when this trailer would play.
excellent trailer did not ruin the movie
It's very long though...
I love this movie so much, one of my fav childhood movie. And Bryan Adam’s voice is soooooo good

WOOOOOOOOTTTT. RUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've listened watched this trailer hundreds of times and only found out now where the music came from
This was forever my favorite childhood movie and still is
my 2 year old loves it. normally he passively watches anything but with this he tells me all about it. "horsey", "grass", "eagle", "water" and "sky"
I love this movie so much, I'm trying to show my teacher the trailer so that we can watch it in class during free time or when there's a substitute.

For anyone curious, the song used in the trailer is “Tryouts” from the Rudy movie. Composer is Jerry Goldsmith.
