There is a lot going on here! At first there was classical-sounding piano. The bass guitar was great, and then the drummer-he was awesome. Altogether it was a cacophony of sounds that worked! I agree with Matt in that there was some jazz infused. All-in-all a great reaction and analysis. I look forward to seeing whatever you have ready for tomorrow. Don’t worry, I think we’ll all live. At least you had something to substitute. Keep your eyes on the ball! 🎶 Cyd ❤

The mics surely aren't there for a joke in this project, since Matt Garstka said in a comment to one of the GEM songs that each of the songs in that project were recorded as a whole live take, so what we see here is live playing. Absolutely mindblowing. And Henrik has said in interviews that he said yes to be in this project because he saw it as a huge challenge and something way out of his comfort zone, and also that he had nightmares about it in the weeks leading up to the recordings. Always nice to know your heroes are human. 😁

They had some backing tracks with some of the keyboard parts, as Eldar couldn't possibly play it all live, but other than that, what we hear is what is being played on camera.

The frets on Henriks bass are true tempered frets, so you're right... Henrik generally plays Mattisson basses. This was very much jazz - which I like. It reminds me a bit of Django Bates. I remember our music class in high school going to one of his concerts and in particular I remember a song called "Fox crosses road". It was for my 16/17 years old ears - both awful and exciting... 😂

Henriks a killer on bass, but way down low in the mix - ever tried Owane?
Henrik did a song with Jack and Owane "UTFF" an entry point through which i discovered Owane and Jack of course) - recommended!
Owane is on YT so "Rock is too heavy" "Action boys" "Born in space" or "Summer jam" are some excellent examples to try

Check out Dirty Loops with “World On Fire”, and Henrik playing a killer solo on his True Temperament Fretted bass there 🔥
In an interview he said that it doesn’t give him perfect intonation, going up into the higher registers or into certain keys, but still better than his other, ‘normal’ basses.
Dude’s a beast. Not only does he play slap bass flawlessly and with his own, very uniques style, but he plays jazz like a god as well.
Watch any of his Coltrane Giant Steps sessions -all to die for ✌️✌️

7:40 Fanned frets are to make string tension the same across all the strings, not for intonation.
