I have a lot of favorite songs and this one is on par with my # 1 favorite songs of all time. One of the best songs ever! Thank God for 80's movies, they revealed so many 80's songs that I would have never heard, if not for 80's films. This song is absolutely amazing!
anyone know what the song is about? my take is it is about young musician 'running' from home or his education to instead focus his time by joining a new group of musician friends who spend all their time practicing, long into the night, traveling on tour bus and longing to be on the stage in front of a live audience in 'darkness', where the singer feels at home and longing for that life style.
originally this song's about a guy who met new friends, the children of the night, who are vampires and turned him into one. Why a song about vampires got into a movie about a killer cop? well, the song was planned to be part of the OST for "Buffy the vampire slayer" film from 1992 but got scrapped and used for Maniac Cop 2.
