I felt that, "I know, I'm sorry!"
You're always desperately hoping that some part of them recognizes that you are just trying to help and don't mean any harm! I hope it's alive and well, and made it back to family or something
I think they do :3 I have seen many times when helping an animal, after the fact they look back at you before running off, makes me think they are looking back and saying "OH! thank you!"
I think it depends on the animal and it's current internal state. If they are scared enough it won't matter what you do to soothe them if you were the original source of the fear. Otherwise I bet a lot of them notice the control you had over them and willingly used to benefit them. Not enough to change their life, but enough to remember it next time it happens
Its family don't care. Once they can hop and their eyes are open, their parents ditch them.

All a baby bunny can do in distress is cry for help. They need good people like this to save them when momma isn't around.
I grew up doing this kinda stuff, picked up a many wild animals to save them from my cats. I swear I was their EMT.
Big rabbits do this too lol
Mama wouldn't do shit to save it.
Is less of a cry for help and more to signal to others that a hunter is there (and they probably died, that will all ages o rabbit screaming when in streame distress)

Yes
Not when you know rabbits aren't kittens and this is extremely painful to be pick up that way.
Baby cry. And to hear a grown man say, 'you're so cute' is just so sweet.
Cuteness affects us all, anyone who says it doesn't is lying or psychopathic. 😅
It definitely affects me!!!
Not really. First of all where were the dogs? That he was saving it from? Secondly, the reason it was "screaming" was because he was traumatizing it by grabbing it by the scruff of the neck and throwing it roughly down on the ground near that hole in the fence.. Probably injured it.
@Mark-bw1wx The dogs were probably inside the house. He was holding it by the scruff of its neck because mother rabbits do that when they hold their babies, it probably still had a neck scruff because it's young enough and he didn't want to be bit/scratched by it by holding it somewhere else, and idk how you got that he set it down roughly because I'm pretty sure it was how I set down my puppies- softly. Also, it wasn't hurt bc it immediately left and looked not hurt at all.

Except large animals aren't helpless only if we have weapons their helpless. You wouldn't be still be saying animals are helpless if a hungry hippo was tryna eat you would you? No? I didn't think so. Never underestimate animals it don't matter how cute they are without weapons us humans won't stand a chance in a fight against a powerful animal unless we get lucky and go for a weak spot like gouging out the animals eye's.
@@trevorpeck1877 I don't think they were tryna say anmmals are helpless. I think they were tryna say that he's helping an animal, who (in this scenario where it'd be eaten by dogs without his intervention) is helpless. I think we can ALL agree that hungry hippos, bears, angry horses, etc aren't helpless. They WILL fuck you up, if you mess with them enough
I do appreciate that you rescued the little baby bunny. It’s old enough to be outside living on its own, but please don’t grab it by the scruff. Their skin is very delicate and grabbing them by the scruff can hurt them and can cause some shock but thank you for letting it go.👍
Genuine question: how _should_ someone pick up a baby bunny to save it from being eaten without also being bitten badly by those rabbit teeth?
Seriously, I want to know.
@@RealBelisariusCawl The reason you don't pick bunnies by the scuff is the fact mothers don't pickup their young like that. You should grab a bunny like you would grab any other small animal, it can claw, it can bite you, but at least it wont hurt the animal you are rescuing
@@frideonfriday7725 wild bunnies can still carry diseases and harmful bacteria on their teeth and claws. Had he been bitten or scratched he could of gotten a serious infection. If it hurt the bunny that's unfortunate but it at least protected him while also ensuring a safe escape for the bunny. It's better than the alternative (the dogs ripping the poor thing apart.)

OMG! I've never seen a baby rabbit that young before. Super cute 😍😍🥰🥰
My dog has brought many of them into the house .
Chances are it is a hair not a rabbit. Baby rabbits do not have fur and are blind, until around 3 weeks they stay with their mother, they are also larger than this when alone, hairs on the other hand are born with their fur and eye sight and can find some that are this small

I know right. I learned that real fast. It’s the only thing that can get my cat coming to me like a dinner bell at meal time 😹. I’ve tried teasing her with kitten noises and other sounds that tickle the ears of other cats and gotten nothing. I found this one day and she came running so fast I couldn’t stop laughing. Her brother is known to jump up from his sleep when I play this, too. Just yesterday I played it in front of him while teasing her and he literally hopped across the sofa twice (all four legs in motion at once like a person). A note for anyone picking up rabbits, DO NOT pick them up by the scruff! Not even their parents pick them up by the scruff, like a cat would with its kittens. When you lift a rabbit from the scruff, the skin is torn loose from the muscle, and can cause permanent damage. On top of that, being picked up by the neck also mimics predators such as hawks and foxes and puts them in distress, and enough stress and fear can actually give them a heart attack. When holding a bunny in the air, it is also important to support their bum, as they have delicate spines and may try to kick their back legs if their behind is not properly supported, and rabbits have broken their own spines this way.
Great advice, thank you!!! 🥰

Pleasw dont hold bunnies like that it can extremely hurt them
Shut up
Just a friendly reminder that rabbits don’t have the scruff on the back of their necks like dogs, cats, wolves, and other similar animals have! Holding a rabbit like that is very painful for them!
That aside, this is super wholesome❤
yes this!!
Awwwwwww! Poor little thing, probably still with his mommy. That was definitely a call out to her.
Bunnies at that are completely self sufficient
If you listen Carefully to the Rabbit...
"Please Don't Eat Me, Please Don't Eat Me
Please Don't Eat Me, Please Don't Eat Me
Please Don't, Please Don't, Please Don't...
Please Don't...
Please Don't Eat me, Please Don't"
That’s true compassion for wildlife. Thank you, sir
That’s got to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen
Such a kind and good hearted human being. God bless you. 😍💖
Какие они хорошенькие😊😊😊
He don't know ur helping poor baby. Thank you so much😊❤
Oh baby bunnies are so cute, I used to breed rabbits. But not many people have heard the noises they make. I love the bit " your free" hand up to you. 🙏🏻🙌🏻💚🇨🇮
Why did he have to pick the bunny up by its neck fur? if i was a bunny and i was picked up by the neck fur i would start screaming as well.
So weird when humans assign human emotion to animals that don’t give a crap about human emotion nor behavior. Like….You know how animals don’t have hands, right? Well, how do you think that bunny’s mother carries their babies around? How do mama cats carry their kittens? Ever seen how a mama dog picks their puppy up?
@@LoryBelle Uh ok?
I was just giving my opinion but ok
he is a human, not an animal
Bunnies don't have hands so they have no option but to pick them up by the neck
The person in the video didnt have to imitate that? He has hands and could hold the bunny in a less painful way.
But then again its my opinion, you think what you like
@@what6383 the point is it’s odd you’re saying they should be carried in a “less painful way” when this isn’t painful, the babies are designed to be carried this way, it doesn’t hurt them at all, this is how you’re supposed to pick them up, and frankly the less contact the better because if you leave your scent all over the baby, there’s a huge chance the mother will reject their baby and abandon it, or not be able to find the baby that she left in this yard, and now is gone and she can’t smell them anywhere. Baby isn’t screaming out of pain, they’re screaming because a giant just picked them up from their backyard and threw them into some random place. The scream is to alert mom for help.
@@LoryBelle As i have said multiple times, Its my opinion. You do have a point though.
@@LoryBelle Have you ever seen a rabbit pick up her babies by their scruff?
I highly doubt it, because they don’t. Rabbits do not carry their babies by the scruff like cats or dogs do. In fact, they don’t even carry them around at all.
You’re half right though, The skin tissue on the neck is directly connected to muscle, so it can and will hurt them if you pick them up that way. It’s screaming in pain, AND fear.
I do not own a bunny, but i CAN confirm, you must NOT hold/pick up a bunny like that
This man is a true gentleman.😊
I“m also sweety

Have you saved a baby rabbit in your backyard from getting eaten by your dogs?
He's a true rabbitman, whatever that is.
He just carry the rabbit by its back
@@cornishiacherrie4971it’s a wild animal. Be lucky he ain’t kill it
Poor baby!!! That screaming broke my heart!!! 😢😢😢
It's their last resort when they think they are about to die
Well, it probably got eaten 5 minutes after being let go......
Rabbits don't have a scruff so you are probably hurting it. Bless you for saving it though!
sure it's uncomfortable for small prey animals to be held in most of any way, but the little thing is so small in mass that being held by the skin wouldn't be excruciating or anything. just like how something so small wouldn't be hurt by a fall 20x its size
@@bottlesaltsdid you ask the rabbit personally or are you a rabbit?
@@bottlesalts😅😅
@@u235x00 no i’m using logic
@@bottlesaltsso many of you armchair geniuses have said this...but what is the best way to get this small animal out of this situation then? According to y'all, nothing. So if I'm in this situation...which isn't uncommon where I live...I guess I'll let nature take care of it & if something eats it then that's what was intended...right? It's annoying when somebody wants to criticize without adding a probable solution to the critique. Like...just don't talk, if criticism is the only thing being offered. Really.

This is so kind! And no judgment here, I once had to pry a baby bunny out of a corner it got stuck in, and was told by a bunny owner not to pick up bunnies by the scruff because their skin is so fragile it can tear and harm them pretty bad. So sweet of you to save the baby!
So sweet! ❤ And such a responsible pet-owner too, I know way too many people who'd unfortunately just let their dogs "play" with the poor bunny. (ok so maybe its only 1 person but thats still too many!)
I don't want to make it seem like this video is bad in any way, but I do want to raise awareness for anyone dealing with this in the future: Wild rabbits are incredibly prone to heart attacks, they can go into shock and die of fright from what us humans perceive as just a little spook. So please please please be as gentle as possible! It's generally best to try to shoo them rather than picking them up, or if they've already gone into shock just make sure their entire body is supported so they at least aren't scared of being dropped. Lifting them by the scruff of their neck is how a lot of rabbits' natural predators catch them, the bunny in this video was probably trying to beg you not to eat him!
Thank you for sharing this information, while still praising the rescuer for doing his very best.
I will remember this in case I ever run into a bunny that needs moving
By the way, that one person you know who would let his dog “play “with the rabbit?
Time to lose him.
When I was a little girl, my cats were indoor outdoor… Their indoor now, but but back then I didn’t know better so
One of my cats was outdoors at night, and he would climb a tree to get to the second level of the house at the window of my parents room…
Meow to be let in at all hours of the night.
Once my mom opened the window to let him in and in hopped a rabbit, and then in hopped the cat!
So both of my parents were running around their bedroom at at least midnight on a work night to try and cut off my cat from chasing the rabbit, and trap the rabbit to get the rabbit back outside.
It must’ve looked like a skirmish at the Super Bowl!
Luckily, they caught the rabbit and got them outside, and now I raise my cats indoors.
Someday, I’ll have a porch for them
The scream is so adorable
It made me sad.
My lizard once ate an old rabbit whole idk if ist a croc or a fricking dinosaur ro a baby skullcrawler but its a BIG BOI LIZARD
