Having the push pin pliers is definitely a good tip. Probably a good 30 minutes between getting it on ramps, removing all the push pin fasteners and finishing the oil change. The fasteners on my daughters 21 Rogue have three gaps on them, which is a little bit of an added challenge vs the two gapped push pins. Looks like a few were missing but there are plenty to hold it securely for sure. Once you get the plastic off the pan and filter are super easy to get to and drain. Filled it up with 5.4'sh quarts, checked the dip stick, checked for leaks and put it back together. Oustside of the plastic shield and annoying push pin fasteners, its an easy change.
I just did mine and found it pretty easy. No need to lift the car. Just reach under to get all the clips. After removing the cover, both oil pan and filter are right there, easily accessible. I used a plastic trim tool for the clips, and a small screwdriver to get a couple stubborn ones started. Pull each clip all the way open before reinstalling.
Pretty sure I commented on this vid when it first came out, but don't see it now. So I'll repeat. (20 ?) plastic push pin clips and 2 10mm bolts to get to the oil drain plug and filter. Ridiculous. Bad enough on lift, but with ramps for diy....Ugh. Owners of 2021 Rogue wanting to do diy, I feel for you. Thanks AD.
It's two bolts and like 15 clips it still sucks but easy af and I took off the factory oil filter with my hands you don't need the tool and I just did the oil change on it and we bought it like summer time
@@JavierAlvarez-nb9zt I counted 16 on AD vid, I've seen higher estimates. And you might be able to remove them by hand when new, but after some dirt mixed in over time, very doubtful. And it's still a cheap "af" design with cheap plastic clips which will break over time. And, to have to remove the entire "engine protector" just to get to oil and filter, absurd. If I was interested in buying one (I'm not) this would be a deal breaker for me. Glad it works for you, I'll pass. Cheers
It's to discourage the DYI'ers, I owned many Nissans in my day and yes, still change CVT fluid with filters every 25-30k. Next they'll take out oil dipsticks! I'm just waiting for that one.
@@robertpsarudakis3474 nice.. I see so many now older Nissans with no transmission dipstick (CVT) there is a cap where dipstick should go and on cap it says See Nissan for transmission check ,something like that
Of all the cars between my wife and I have ever owned this is BY FAR the most effing annoying one to give an oil change. 17 plastic fragile doodads, 2 10mm nuts, and a 14mm drain plug. And since it's a Nissan, you really do need that protective bottom. Some cars you can do away with it. Not this one. Such a hassle!
@@rafars2246 Yeah not the most sturdy, quality bits and pieces down there. They use plastic when metal would be better. I once ran over a small branch with my Murano and it was as if Wolverine had attacked the bottom of my car. If it were a Toyota nothing would have been damaged.

@@AutomotiveDysfunction the dealership said they thought something splashed up on it. I doubt that since it has guard cover covering it. So they washed it off and chalked it up as that. @@eviespinkrepsol rear main seal is a big job you literally have to take transmission out just to replace $30 seal … so when car is under the warranty mechanic/technicians hate doing warranty work because they only get paid half of labor on warranty work… so basically let’s say roughly it take 8 hour to take transmission out on 2021 rogue, but since car is under the warranty mechanic/ technicians get paid only for 4 hours of labor …. Not sure if it's the right place to ask so I apologize ahead, but it's related to oil change. I just bought a 2022 1.5l 3 cylinder Rogue. Maintenance manual says nothing about break in period oil change but I read that many recommend to change the first oil at 1500miles due to possible metal shaving. I would think that the oil filter would take care of it until the 5000mi recommended oil change. Any thoughts? Thanks
Just go by the whatever manufacturer/manuals says.. keep it under 4Krpm(prefer shifting at maximum 3k rpm)for next 500-1000 miles … things are better than 10+ years ago when comes to quality of oil and all
Just finished. The pins and sheets of material are annoying. Other than that it's a normal oil change. For the pin, you have to pop up the center circular section all the way out with a flat head . Then the entire clip/pin will slide out easily. Hard to push them back in to place while the central circle is still raised. Then snap the central circle down to lock it back in place. Def annoy9ng.
Thank you for making a video like this. Straight to the point.
