Many ways to make a lure and they all retrieve well. I’m more industrial. I use a medium black and white canvas dog retrieving lure. Gets dirty, throw in washing machine. Cheap, so I have several I can hand out to others to retrieve a lost hawk. Works great on a lure machine too !
Hey Ben! Hope you are on the mend and getting better every day. Quick question for you, would there be a downside to using dyed leather for a lure? I have lots of scraps from making rodeo chaps reds, whites and shades of blue. Can birds not see these colors as well as browns and black? Get well soon and thanks for the good content. thoughts and prayers for ya
I am not sure what other people use. I inherited some industrial thread that is used to patch and repair trampolines. It is thin, but incredibly strong. I will see if I can find what brand it is.

Nice explanation, thanks for sharing 👍
I've had your book on trapping for years, and didn't put two and two together watching the videos! Excellent book, and I'm really enjoying the videos.
Where can I get patterns like yours?
Thanks Ben a great video good information.

I just use a tennis ball with pigeon wings tied to them.
I don't put hardware in the lure itself at all. You can just put the swivel in another spot in the string attached to the lure!
Super video ben. Helps me alot
Nice video... What is the best material to make dugaza nets.... And what would be the thickness of the material to trap Eurasian sparrowhawk....
