I did legally blonde last year! That show is a beast of a show. I was an ensemble member but I was in every scene because I was EVERY type of ensemble. That was a tuffy

Im a dancer but I’m in my first musical and I really have a new appreciation for it, it’s so much work and dedication.
Show week is always the most stressful and tiring! The saddest part is definitely after the last show and you realize it’s really over

The town I used to live in my three first years ok hs did not have any performing arts hs or programs anywhere near me, then I moved and my last year of hs I was finally in a theater program 😩🙌🏼🙌🏼 and I remember those rehearsals until 10pm or 12am and I honestly loved them sm

Waffle House: the classic Atlanta high schooler late night hang out spot
after opening night for every show at my school, the whole cast goes to waffle house and ive never seen a waitress as terrified as when a group of 25 theatre kids walk in at midnight to get waffles and sing showtunes all night
I’m a techie for newsies for 13 hour long days working non stop. The thing is our director has only provided one meal all week instead of every day 2 times a day like she said she would. She ends rehearsals late so we actually regularly leave at 11:30 instead of 9:30 so our 13 hour rehearsal is really 15 hours at least with maybe a few bags of chips and a pack of fruit snacks for food
Oh man, we just finished our production of My Fair Lady at my school. We actually had to push our show back a weekend because all of tech week we had snow days! But it ended up going pretty well. We actually didn’t run the show fully until our preview show for parents so I feel you on being nervous. I’m really sad the shows over because it’s my last high school show but I’m sooo glad tech week is over and I can SLEEP.

at my school we do this thing called “ Lock in” the week before tech week and we stay at school until midnight, we get out of school go to rehearsal and stay till midnight, it’s really fun tbh
we have tech week from 9-10 for two weeks. then, its show week! 9-11 every day till our 3 weekend shows. then, we repeat that show week for our 2nd show weekend. so fun!!!!

ugh oh no i have tech week soon... i love and hate it all at the same time
When we dry ran a show, I do tech, last year w/o cast, the rehearsal we had planned to do it was canceled. So after the regular rehearsal, all tech stayed behind for 6 hours after cast left, (Cast left at around 8pm). Supposed to stay until midnight but, everyone was exhausted and so it was extra slow. It had been 19-20 I had been in my school. At least it was a Friday and didn't have to go to school the next day.
This just gives me flashbacks to all my school's tech weeks...
One of the things I hate about tech week......it always falls on my freaking birthday 😂. I haven't celebrated my birthday since the 8th grade lol
This is so similar to tech week at my school including not having a full run until opening night! Haha I shouldnt be laughing but the exhaustion is real.
At my school during tech the Saturday before starts it and cast goes 9am-9pm, Sunday is 11-9, the week is typically 4-10:30 and notes till 10:45/11, home around 11:30
wish we had a tech week...my stage tech is lucky if the director even gives us a full day to have our time with the cast. last year, we had 1 day to tinker with the tech for Mary Poppins, a whole ass 3 hours show and we had a day to get the tech right...everyone loved the show but it was absolute hell for the stage tech and we all had at least 3 breakdowns ever hour 🤪

Queen I live in GA and was doing tech for a thing we do called international night, which is like a talent show but the acts are related to the performer's culture. It's super hype and the ticket stand is basically a mob during lunch. WELLLLLL bc school was cancelled on Tuesday (even though it was sunny and dry and didn't even get to freezing temperatures asdfadfadjh), we ran the entire show THREE TIMES. We finally escaped that hellhole at 11:30. It was INSANE
