Hi guys I forgot to put in the title for riff number #68 its Holiday by The Scorpions :) Also Born to be wild came out in 1968, good tiems bad tiems 1969 and twilight zone was 1982, This is is what I get for trusting a sight that said 200 songs from the 70's lol my bad homies :( Annnnd 80 riffs from the 80's is already in the works woohooo.
My favorite thing about these videos is that Rob is such an unassuming, cool guy. He's an excellent player, but he doesn't come at it with a "look at what I can do" attitude. He's just a laid back guy having some fun with his friends on a Friday night. You see other guys do videos like this and they're titled "20 riffs that nobody can play right!" and stuff like that. Rob Baker's a breath of fresh air.
MONTROOOOSEEE! BLESS YOUR HEART FOR ACKNOWLEDING THAT THEY ACTUALLY EXIST! Ronnie is probably my favorite guitarists of all time and I love his work with Montrose, Gamma, and his solo shit. Awesome to see you recognize somebody who pioneered the metal industry.
I grew up in the 70's... Music was the BEST! There were a handful of songs I didn't get but I got most of them. I'll have to say it was the best decade of music (closely followed by the 60's).
Robert great job! Loved seeing all the guitars and hearing all the different tones in the mix. One reason why some people have multiple guitars - "Tone". Thank you for doing what you do! A majority of what you played is what I was learning and jamming to back in those years. Those were some great times for all types of music!
A few things. 1st. Thank you 2nd. That crackle Orange/Black paint guitar is Awesome. 3rd. Were the guitars chosen for the songs? Like do they go better on one type of guitar than another? E.g. The ZZTop songs played on the Les Paul, is the Les Paul better to get them right. Or doesn't it matter?
got my first kiss to Alice Cooper's 18. i told her i had been waiting a year to tell her she was the only reason i was still hanging out with the crowd. she had just turned 18, i was 22. I will never forget that night, and i wish she was still around.
Joe Walsh is criminally underrated. Thanks for including him. Love your channel man. Great quality videos with interesting ideas. Very inspiring. Cheers
We heard you like sevens so we put sevens in your sevens so you can seven whilst you're sevening out to your sevens. Also, I got 20. I'm just gonna go ahead and play the "Born in the 90s" card as my excuse. I did also know a couple of songs that I just didn't recognize, I'm going to blame those on Roberto's playing. :)
Hey Rob! Really like you tone!:) Just a question, are you using the Revv amp that's there in front of you? N if yes are you plugged straight in or are you using any effects? N what is the model of the Revv? Thanks!:) Marc
Hi! Is this playlist available at spotify? If don´t you should do! It has really nice songs!! for me I can say for sure but I guess other people would like to have a playlist with all this hits.
No matter if some were from late 60's or early 80's it is still classic rock...THE BEST music of any generation....mid to late 60's to 80's is when music was real music. Yes even some of the hair metal is quite good...ok it is awesome too... but you did a great job.
i like your dirty style of playing. most people play riffs as clean as possible but then you just copy it, don't know if it's on purpose or not but music doesn't ask perfection, it asks style and personality. keep it up!

Robert Baker I actually knew more of those than I thought I would
i got 30 out of 70 is it good?
i think brass in pocket was 1980.
Chum Buck If we go by a grading system, that's a 43.
Trent Stines aww man so I failed

In 2000 seconds
Only Joe Bonamassa has enough guitars to do that...
Lol

I can't believe you've done this
Based Knopfler at least it was a fender???
Havic Gaming a tele isnt good enough!
And not finger picking.
well done man. you've really been killing it the last couple of months
thanks so much :)
When all of these could be zeppelin and the video would still be good
True!!
wrong
This video could realistically just be Jimmy Page and Tony Iommi riffs.
Don't forget zz top and the eagles 🤘
No doubt. Jimmy would play 3 or 4 great riffs in one song!
This video just got me out of one of those "don't know what to play" moods. now I have so many songs I need to learn
*stops video to play The Ocean riff for about 20 minutes*
Dom B thank you for describing exactly what I did
that riff is wonderful :D
no pink Floyd wtf man
F this SH that’s imposible
MONTROOOOSEEE! BLESS YOUR HEART FOR ACKNOWLEDING THAT THEY ACTUALLY EXIST! Ronnie is probably my favorite guitarists of all time and I love his work with Montrose, Gamma, and his solo shit. Awesome to see you recognize somebody who pioneered the metal industry.
I wish you had some Rush in there, some of their best stuff was in the 70s (that's debatable tho)
Workin Man
absolutely, they had so many great riffs
I grew up in the 70's... Music was the BEST! There were a handful of songs I didn't get but I got most of them.
I'll have to say it was the best decade of music (closely followed by the 60's).
Agreed

Nice video, but no Status Quo???
The 70's consist of many of my all time favorite bands. Nice job
Pink Floyd?
5:58 *MISSISSIPPI QUEEN! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!* I'm glad you included this killer and underated riff.
Waiting for the 80s video!! :)

Manuel Terrian There is hold the line, songs from GTA iv and v
True, I was just stating the fact that it's a werid coincidence one was after the other tho.
got my first kiss to Alice Cooper's 18. i told her i had been waiting a year to tell her she was the only reason i was still hanging out with the crowd. she had just turned 18, i was 22. I will never forget that night, and i wish she was still around.

A modern day warrior mean mean stride today's Tom Sawyer mean mean pride
Rab Townsend I was really hoping for Fly By Night
Working man, best Rush riff
Rab Townsend wanted fly by night... It's a good riff
I was about to say "the 70s? The prime of Prog rock and not a single Prog riff?" But then Kansas came up and I guess that counts lol
Carry On Wayward Son is considered prog?
Can' t wait till you come up with a demo video of your custom Acacia guitar.Great video!

We heard you like sevens so we put sevens in your sevens so you can seven whilst you're sevening out to your sevens. Also, I got 20. 😂 you legend funk 49 at 49, when I saw the title I was hoping you would do that
Love this video! The Les Paul ruled on tone! All guitars sounded great except the second one, purple and gold which was just ok.
Great playing man !
You rock, man. Motivates me to practice more.
Hey Rob! Really like you tone!:) Just a question, are you using the Revv amp that's there in front of you? N if yes are you plugged straight in or are you using any effects? N what is the model of the Revv? Thanks!:) Marc
Hey dude yeah Im using the revv here and running it into the 2notes reload and then using delay from the Axe fx . The amp is a Revv 7-40
Wasn't Good Times Bad Times in 69?
Isaac Ord yeh

J.D Hawkes it's not stupid it's great yo
I dig that Tele into the revv

I love the 2nd guitar! If only its easy to find them!
great performance!! sounding great!
i like the first guitar (blue with tiger top). What is the brand ?
Didnt matter if you played them correctly or not you had a good time and they were very good i enjoyed this video very much
No matter if some were from late 60's or early 80's it is still classic rock...THE BEST music of any generation....mid to late 60's to 80's is when music was real music. Yes even some of the hair metal is quite good...ok it is awesome too... but you did a great job.
hey what was the blue guitar u played first, it's really nice
Scorpions...Still lovin' you (68)? Nice jammin.
can you do a video when you show us how to play 10 or 20 riffs from the 70s
That Charvel had a nice sound.
Hey Robert Baker what is that purple guitar?
Damn, you've got some sick guitars!

Loved it. Thanks
what was the second guitar you were playing. that looked sweet.
My heart dropped when I couldn't find Queen. There it is #65
Nice tones and playing
Very cool! But one nitpick, Twilight Zone came out in '82.
What is that thing that making the fret dots on your guitar light up like that
Thanks for putting in some Lizzy! Now I can sleep softly.
what amp do you use?
Man i live the look of your guitars they look nice the first and second
Dude this is the ultimate dad riff video...
Bruce Dickinson called. He wants his hair back.
Finally some Deep Purple :)
and other than smoke on the water
i like your dirty style of playing. most people play riffs as clean as possible but then you just copy it, don't know if it's on purpose or not but music doesn't ask perfection, it asks style and personality. keep it up!
You should do a theme song medley, Robert!
