Tony Cantwell on ADHD and his new show on RTÉ ‘Good Boy’

Tony Cantwell has plenty of experience in things going wrong. He reckons there’s at least five jobs he’s been sacked from (and he’s still not entirely clear on why), then there’s the issue of his school grades that peaked at Junior Cert mocks and went down from there.
Although, sometimes the ‘why’ behind those many P45s should maybe have been glaringly obvious, such as in the case of the London shoe shop store where he worked in his twenties. “I was late every single day,” he reveals. “I did it a few times and they said: ‘We’re going to have to give you a verbal warning’ and I go ‘OK’. Then I came in late the next day and they said: ‘OK, now we’re going to have to give you a written warning’; again ‘OK’.”
