"Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." That part...that part...so powerful. 😢😢😢
Now I better know meaning of this part. When my mom died, me and my father are like lost children in middle of nowhere. It's so difficult for us to live without her. She was our guider in almost everything. But I hope someday we will rise and become a "man".
The meaning of this song is more relevant to my life now then it ever was as a child. Now as a young man trying to discover his strengths and passions, it's far easier to occasionally become discouraged and frustrated after a stumble or misstep. A song like this is a great way to refuel one's desire to further cultivate themselves in order to attain their goals, dreams, and ultimately grow into the person they will to be. I say to seek inspiration -- because it can be found anywhere!
Same. I was a child with little to no guidance and abusive parents. I almost didn't graduate from high school and got out, eventually, with like a 1.5 gpa lol. After, let's just say, I saw how bad life can get. I somehow turned my situation around and I'm now an honors student in college studying computer engineering. That fact blows everyone who I used to knows mind. I'm now in this strange transitional phase were I'm having to prove myself and figure out who I am.
I remember my father used to sing this a lot for me to teach my English (English is not my native language) when I was a kid. I had no idea what this song means back in the day. He passed away not long after, and now I finally can speak English it hits me really hard realizing how much He loves me. If I have a son, I promise myself to sing this song to him too
My father died when i was 4 years old i watched Tarzan as a kid and i got the song copied burn from a friend in Kindergarden now i listen to it understand English it hits me too , i wish when i have my son i will show him this song too
I remember first hearing this when I was 2. My mom saw it was the only song I'd willingly listen to then. She looked at me and promised this: "I'll play this when you turn 18 and graduate school." 16 years later, on the day I post this comment, my mom played this on speakers, following her promise. She played it At my graduation/birthday party. She followed her promise and I couldn't have ever been more proud. In fact, as a person with autism, it was hard for me through school. Being picked on, left behind, and dragged into great challenges. This song reflected that struggle. Thank you Disney. Thank you mom.
My dad on his death bed said I would be a fine man even when I was in and out of prison and doing drugs. I have stopped that life and work an honest life as a electrician.
I'm proud of you. That is a level of change that truly humbles me. People make mistakes, but it's the bravest ones that learn from them and make up for them.
My daughter used to watch Tarzan at least once a week for a few months, she loved it , this song hits me so hard when she eventually stopped watching the movie and I feel like she was growing up like Tarzan and moving on like he was.
Its interesting that this song is in many ways fatherhood personified. My dad was, and is all a father should be. Strong, wise, imperfect but striving, gentle when it was right, harsh when it was needed, he fought me when I needed fighting, built me up when I was down, and never once let me ever doubt he loves me and he is proud I am his son. This song makes me think of him. He is still alive, and I spend time with him often, but Still Im glad I was blessed with a good father, and a good mother who have loved each other and me all their lives.
You are a very lucky person to still have both parents. I lost my mom last year and my dad twelve years ago, I miss them everyday and I remember the stories of youth and it makes me feel like they are still with me. So please cherish every moment you have with them and never forget to tell them you love them.
Andrew Caldera Yes, in your opinion thirty-one is not old. In my opinion though, thirty-one is old. Just as in my opinion, I would say you enjoy Hispanic-American food, but in your opinion, you would see otherwise.

Literally just turned 19 years old, on the 19th, and I just have to say every year I always listen to this song since its my childhood when I was growing up. I honestly can't believe how fast time passes, I'll always remember playing this on the PS1 with my twin brother legit so many memories, I literally remember it as if it was yesterday. It's honestly so sad to see that Disney longer makes shows like these & how fast time passes. Whenever I listen to this song, I can't just help but remember the countless memories I have with it even shedding tears when I hear it. Truly amazing, and my childhood song. The song of my life and how its described. 💙🎉
Oh, the power to be strong And the wisdom to be wise All these things will come to you in time On this journey that you're making There'll be answers that you'll seek And it's you who'll climb the mountain It's you who'll reach the peak Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Though there's no one there to guide you No one to take your hand But with faith and understanding You will journey from boy to man Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be In learning you will teach And in teaching you will learn You'll find your place beside the ones you love Oh, and all the things you dreamed of The visions that you saw Well, the time is drawing near now It's yours to claim in all Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Son of Man, Son of Man's a man for all to see i like music I LOVE
I think of my son everytime I hear this, it shows me that no matter how much he screws up or screw up, we love each other and I know he’ll grow to be a great man
1. This movie is absolutely amazing. 2. As I leave my father soon, I set to be a better man than he was, while keeping the personality traits that he showed me were the right way to handle situations every man encounters. Thank you Dad for all you have done, and all the things will do for me. I leave this house filled with ambition and passion for the life ahead. I have my mom and dad to thank for making me the man I am becoming.
I remember listening to this in both English and Spanish. Knowing that he sang this in multiple languages is very impressive. From the bottom of all our hearts; Thank You Phil Collins. ❤️
Long live R.H Phil Collins and his family! This song has opened me to the understanding of our world and led me to the right path~! Someday I wish to meet you.
“All the things you dreamed of, the visions that you saw. Well the time is drawing near now. It’s yours to claim it all!!” Idk if it’s cause I’m black or a christrian but that part had me jumping with my hands in the air speaking in tongues 😂
Man, I just turned 19, on the 19th and this was literally my childhood growing up. I'll never forget even playing this on the PS1. How time flies. Sad to see Disney don't make movies like these anymore. This is the song of my life.
Atta boy. In this life there won’t always be a guide or reference. But because there is a God, we can trust that “all these things will come to you in time,” - through prayer, through experience, through trial and error - through the path you walk. Onward and forward my friend.
Phil Collins, you're one of the best. Rest assured, YOU are part of the few who've actually BLESSED this planet with their voices and heart ♥ You can be proud !
I want to make a slideshow video of my boys with this song. It's a perfect song. All give it to them when they're older. Phil Collins makes some very good music.
Honesty, This is my all-time favorite track from such an iconic film from my childhood, and what a Legendary track by Phil Collins. I literally can't describe what this song means to me, and the soundtrack in general, as I couldn't even be able to fit it all in this box. How time flies though. As a kid, I always looked at this song as an inspiration after all I've been through, and the lyrics age like fine wine as time goes and I still take it too heart, till this day, and it helps me out through time, and brings many memories, and helps me keep going. How I wish I could go back, and relive those innocent days, or make change but we all go through life like a flash. I think the best lyric, and the one that I take too heart the most would be "O Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through, and as day by day goes, It gets better and better. Thanks Phil, Always my icon, and glad there's so many people that still listen to this underrated track these days.

Its a shame nobody respects his personality, spirit, and soul. What I mean by those three terms are what he expresses out through music. Its not for EVERYONE to like, but its for at least some people to enjoy. Not all music can be for everyone. Why should he meet their expectations? They just need a person to hate. He's a great artists and he has done so well in his journey. Who couldn't ask for a kickass drummer, songwriter, singer, and musician in general. The man is incredible.
This played while my mother was on the way to the hospital in the car while she had me, my favorite movie growing up (and will never change). this is one movie kids need to see. Powerful messages and life lessons in this one
Some people say Phil Collins ruined Tarzan because the songs aren't entirely base on the movie. As in, if you listen to them without the movie, they sound like normal songs as apposed to other Disney songs that you instantly recognize as from a musical. Personally, I think that makes it better. They are good songs for the movie and they are good songs by themselves.
I listened to this song on repeat for 2 hours straight when I first brought my boy home from the hospital. Dear Emmett, if you ever see this, daddy misses you, little Man.
i miss this kind of heartwarming feeling from disney.. i mean some movies they do are really good and funny but they are just not the same :( will forever love movies like tarzan
Disney exec: Phil, this is just a kids cartoon movie, you don't need to go that hard on this. Phil Collins: *Causes equipment to catch fire from the heat*
when I hear this song I picture me and my friends running through a forest laughing and smiling and then collapsing on the ground in laughter.... if only.
Honesty, my all time favourite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once carried out many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. How time flies though. On Tuesday, the 19th of April, I'll be 20. How I wish we could all go back in time to live these days. "Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through.
Im one of the kids who still watch the old disney movies on cassette and still refuse to let their parents get them a Flatscreen TV. Im thirteen years old, and I still want to keep my box TV
I play this song throughout my nursing school experience omg it's so motivational. You won't get things on the first try but when you keep doing it and through support and courage you will see yourself prevail
I love Phil Collins when I was a teen in high school, on the 80's he was the man, and him taking on a movies sound track, proves that he still is the man!
Man, I'm 19, about to be 20 soon and this was literally my childhood growing up. I'll never forget even playing this on the PS1. How time flies. Sad to see Disney don't make movies like these anymore. This is the song of my life, literally, and the soundtrack. The lyrics and everything, always bring tears too me espically with the powerful messages, and all I've been through. Phil Collins, my all time favorite legend, the guy who helped me throughout my life.
Vacation August 2023, in a hotel room in the middle of Davos(kanton Graubünden) switzerland, pumping phil collins loud while the hotel staff brings the local beer to the room. Just nostalgic about tarzan.. best vacations ever! Greetings from swiss
I'm a teacher at a hospital and when I see some of my nursing students cry and feel like quitting my assignment for them is to go home and listen to this song. The next day they hug and thank me and tell me they will keep going.
i lyk what he says in his song "two worlds one family"....he says "put ur faith in what u most believe in' ........gosh!! that has a strong meaning.......
I love this song, and I love that this movie showed two types of masculinity. You had good masculinity, which was Tarzan protecting those he cared about and using his strength for good things. There was also toxic masculinity, which was Clayton, who used his masculinity to hunt creatures that had done nothing to him and try and bully those weaker than him. Both characters where masculine, but one was good and one was bad
Tarzan has the greatest soundtrack of all disney movies followed by brother bear. Not to mention it was sung both by phil collins which makes it more amazing
He didn't have to go so hard on this soundtrack but he did, he did it for us
You can' hire Phil Collins and not expect him to go hard
Why is this comment everywhere?

Its just such a perfect song for a father to pass to his son.

All these things will
come to you in time
On this journey that you're making
There'll be answers that you'll seek
And it's you who'll climb the mountain
It's you who'll reach the peak
Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be
Though there's no one there to guide you
No one to take your hand
But with faith and understanding
You will journey from boy to man
Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be
In learning you will teach
And in teaching you will learn
You'll find your place beside the
ones you love
Oh, and all the things you dreamed of
The visions that you saw
Well, the time is drawing near now
It's yours to claim in all
Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be
Son of Man,
Son of Man's a man for all to see

This played while my mother was on the way to the hospital in the car while she had me, my favorite movie growing up (and will never change). this is one movie kids need to see. Powerful messages and life lessons in this one
Some people say Phil Collins ruined Tarzan because the songs aren't entirely base on the movie. As in, if you listen to them without the movie, they sound like normal songs as apposed to other Disney songs that you instantly recognize as from a musical. Personally, I think that makes it better. They are good songs for the movie and they are good songs by themselves.
I may have a father but this goes out to those who grew up without a father. Be strong and Walk tall with pride
Best movie soundtrack Disney ever made. Change my mind
Let's get Down to Business to defeat the Huns!
Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons!
They had us at the first half.... No no he's got a point.

I listened to this song on repeat for 2 hours straight when I first brought my boy home from the hospital. Dear Emmett, if you ever see this, daddy misses you, little Man.
This song gives me hope in humanity💡
I remember watching this as a kid. Legit made me want to sprint through the woods on some thrilling quest towards greatness.

"Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand
But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through.
Im one of the kids who still watch the old disney movies on cassette and still refuse to let their parents get them a Flatscreen TV. Im thirteen years old, and I still want to keep my box TV
This song kept me going
**Dances like a Maniac while wearing a Fruit Hat**
I play this song throughout my nursing school experience omg it's so motivational. You won't get things on the first try but when you keep doing it and through support and courage you will see yourself prevail
2008-2018 👏👏👏👏👏👏
One decade
It was originally recorded in 1999 and its now 2019. 2 decades now
Tarzan will never be forgotten and this is how Phil Collins will be remembered. he sings so many Tarzan songs.
I love this so much.
Vacation August 2023, in a hotel room in the middle of Davos(kanton Graubünden) switzerland, pumping phil collins loud while the hotel staff brings the local beer to the room. Just nostalgic about tarzan.. best vacations ever!
Greetings from swiss
I like this song. Nice music and good lyrics. Great composition. CHFA
The animation for Tarzan is awesome!
dedicate this song to my beautiful baby boy :)
oh,.
2017 is about to end and still watching Tarzan, how could I ever forget my childhood years...
Favorite song of my life. As a kid, it was a banger. As a grown-up man, it is like my life story.
Love you all ❤
One of the best songs ever heard in a classic Disney movie!
Childhood memory unlocked 😢😢
I'm a teacher at a hospital and when I see some of my nursing students cry and feel like quitting my assignment for them is to go home and listen to this song. The next day they hug and thank me and tell me they will keep going.
Wow it's so inspiring 😭😭😭😭😭😭
That's what I've grown up upon. I couldn't have asked for a better one.
I LOVE THIS SONG! iT'S SO AMAZING! IT REMINDS ME OF THE STRUGGLES I HAD IN MY PAST! Nobody in my family helped me growing up.
okkk.,
i lyk what he says in his song "two worlds one family"....he says "put ur faith in what u most believe in' ........gosh!! that has a strong meaning.......
I dunno if it fit entirely in the film. But daaamn its a great song.
Phil is a freaking genius
yea this song suits me now when iam old xD
Tarzan has the greatest soundtrack of all disney movies followed by brother bear. Not to mention it was sung both by phil collins which makes it more amazing
