I was too young to really remember when this came out or see it (I was only 4), so I ended up getting into him when Brother Bear came out when I was 8.

4 Days ago on October 9th, 2019 I lost my son Jordan. He loved this movie as a child. I do not know if he liked this song or even knew it always made me think of him. This morning I woke with this song in my head. Jordan was a good kid and caring young man. My pain, hurt is at the level I’ve never felt before. Rest In Peace my son. Daddy misses you.

When our 18 year old little dog passed away three years ago, we had a small memorial at home for just the family. My adult daughter created a powerpoint presentation of videos and and photos of her and set it to this song. @@dodohead147147 im so sorry. my aunt put her chocolate lab hershey down on june 25 from a tumor :( he wanted 2 be a lap dog but he was 90 pounds & nobody let him. he rooted on everybody but they all kept him down except me. i was the only one who let him up with me. all he wanted was 2 cuddle. when i met him in 2009 i pet him & he rooted on me. i said “uh, ok” & he climbed on my lap. my aunt yelled at him 2 get off me but i said he was ok. i didnt care if he was heavy. then he was about a hundred & i still let him root on me. b4 they put him down my aunt & uncle said he weighed 93. i even let him sleep on the bed with me too & shared my pillow with him. my aunt said he probably loved it cuz they never did. there were only a couple nights when he slept downstairs. when i got up & came down he climbed on me again. im gonna miss him climbing on my lap & rooting on me soooooo much :’( r.i.p. hershey :’( i love u :’(

My Hettie was similar, I don't think they realise how big they become and still have the puppy mindset where they just want to be in your lap and snuggle haha. I love my mom and even though my birth mom was poor and mentally unstable I am grateful she acknowledged she couldn't take care of me the way I needed to be and decided to put me up for adoption. I'm very lucky. I love my adoptive parents and I'm happy you got adopted into a good family too. Adoption is a great thing. :)

I’ve never really heard another song like this one. It’s definitely a love song but it’s a love song to anyone you love. Not just your special someone. It’s just a song to sing to anyone you love friend, mother, father, spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather…anyone. It’s just a song of pure love for anyone you love. It’s really a very unique awesome song.

It wasn't meant to be a love song. Phil Collins wrote this song as a lullaby for his daughter Lily Collins before it was fully composed and featured on Disney's Tarzan. It's meant to be from a parent to a child. But I suppose it could be to anyone. It's a beautiful song.

There’s a difference between romantic love and love for like your daughter or you sister. Just because something is a “love song” doesn’t automatically mean it’s a romantic love song. Which is what I meant in my comment. This song isn’t a romantic lovey dovey song even though it’s a love song. It’s a love song towards anyone you love your friend, your spouse, your brother, your sister…It’s not a romantic love song. Even though you could sing this to your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend. This is just a song about love. I could sing this song about my brother or my sisters. I obviously wouldn’t mean it in a romantic way. I use to sing this song to my daughter. The foundation of the song talks about protection, speaking about how you will always be there to keep them safe. If you listen to the words the kind of love described here is quite defensive and implies that the person at the receiving end is too young to fend for himself. As we all know in the movie it's about the Gorilla and Baby Tarzan.

When I was six weeks old, I had something choking my trachea. I had to have emergency surgery. According to my mom, my dad was holding me, and when this song came on, he started to cry. She swears that is the only time she has seen him cry.

I'm sad to say that I just heard this song last week for the first time. I'm 55 years old and this song I sing in my heart and in my car sometimes. I sing it to the man I love, the man of my dreams, the man of my heart who unfortunately cannot be with me. He loves me deeply and I love him but circumstances are such that he cannot be with me and my heart is broken. We have been seeing each other for a year-and-a-half now and I cannot imagine my life without him and yet that is the way it has to be for now. He is the smartest, most intelligent, very successful, the most awesome dad in the world and the man I love with all of my heart. I was with another man for 18 years and it wasn't until I met this current man in my life that I realized those 18 years I was not in love, not at all. Now I know what love is and oh the joy the splendor, what an awakening!

I've always loved this song and the movie Tarzan. On Wed Jan 8th I lost my service dog, Zeus. We adopted him from a shelter in 2011... He was 17 and to say the best dog ever is an understatement. He saved my life twice, once from a stroke and once from low blood sugar. He was an English Shepherd and truly my lifesaver. Until we meet again, HE will be in my heart, Always!

My grandmother and I always had a strong relationship. So when I found out she had gotten cancer, I was by her side supporting her. She was weak and even started to lose the will to live because of how much she had to go through. I'd sing this to her everyday, we always loved Phil Collins. She'll be going on three years cancer free. I feel so lucky to have been able to keep her in my life. I know many people don't live, she wasn't supposed to, but some miracle happened and she's still with me and just fine. I thank god everyday.

My daughter is only 16 months old and she just LOVES this song! She could listen to it all day long! My wife and I had to memorize the lyrics to sing it to her at night. My daughter has had a special attachment to music since she was only four months old! Today, at 16 months old her taste for music developed so much! She learned to sing before talking .... I can't wait to see who she will become in the future... so I can share with the world her early and special bond with music...

I just lost my dog who was with us for 17 years. He was literally my brother and best friend. The saddest part is I’m living in different part of the world and couldn’t go home to see him for the last time. :( This song made me feel this is the message from him to me. ;(
omg I'm so sorry :( I'm happy someone else remembered their dog. I usually thought about my dog when listening to this song, and now it's been 3 days he died. He was 13 years. I was 4 years old when he came home as a puppy. So it's weird to live without him. I almost couldn't but I got to see his last seconds, it was so sad, but I would be very sad too if I was far away, so I can imagine what u feel. I'm sure you spent a lot of fun times with your dog, so try to remember these.
A short story to encourage you. This happened in the mid-1990s. My grandma and I took in a black female stray cat we named Curly because of her short curly tail. This cat liked to 'massage' my grandma. My grandma passed on in 2000. I moved out of that house into an apartment in 2010. Curly followed me. I had married and had children by then. In 2012, Curly was already 14 and old. One night my apartment tenant contacted me (I was overseas) telling me "Curly is dying". She also saw a old lady spirit in my apartment. I simply told my tenant, "That's probably my grandmother. She's waiting for Curly to join her in Heaven." A few days later, Curly passed on. Be of good cheer! We will reunite with our pets one day. Souls never die. They just relocate.
im sooo sorry. my aunt put her chocolate lab hershey down on june 25 last year from a tumor :( he wanted 2 be a lap dog but he was 90 pounds & nobody let him. he rooted on everybody but they all kept him down except me. i was the only one who let him up with me. all he wanted was 2 cuddle. when i met him in 2009 i pet him & he rooted on me. i said “uh, ok” & he climbed on my lap. my aunt yelled at him 2 get off me but i said he was ok. i didnt care if he was heavy. then he was about a hundred & i still let him root on me. b4 they put him down my aunt & uncle said he weighed 93. i even let him sleep on the bed with me too & shared my pillow with him. my aunt said he probably loved it cuz they never did. there were only a couple nights when he slept downstairs. when i got up & came down he climbed on me again. im gonna miss him climbing on my lap & rooting on me soooooo much :’( r.i.p. hershey :’( i love u :’(
