NOTE: DO NOT DO THIS EXERCISE WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE. You will be visualizing or simulating driving.
By popular request, here is a version of somatic tracking for visual symptoms and/or symptoms triggered by driving that is 15 minutes long and without music.
Somatic tracking is an exercise to help you change your brain and body's neural and chemical responses to your visual symptoms. It can be used to help you change your brain's response to visual symptoms you get in response to driving, supermarkets, large or small spaces, patterns, bright colors or any other environmental factors.
This 15-minute version of the exercise will teach your brain to respond to the unpleasant sensations you feel without alarm. This creates new neural pathways and connections in your brain (neuroplasticity) that will help you reduce your symptoms.
The goal of the exercise is not to get rid of the dizziness or related symptoms. The goal of the exercise is to teach your brain that it is safe and in no danger. It doesn't matter whether the dizziness changes, or gets better or worse while you are tracking it.
You can find a 10-minute version of somatic tracking here: • Somatic Tracking for P...
And my personal favorite, a 20-minute version of somatic tracking with parts work here: • Somatic Tracking 2 for...

I'm overwhelmed by your generosity helping so many people here including me. I have PPPD and upper cervical dizzyness. Everything started 6y ago together with persistent
arrhythmia. Now my heart is healed but I broke down on May by stress and frightening dizzyness. Panic attacks, anxiety avoiding everything. I have been doing many things, tapping, breathing, yoga and finally I found your wonderful encouraging words and wisdom. I'm slowly healing from dizzyness. Thank you so much 💓

Just tried this for the first time. I hope I am doing it right. I focused on the way my face and head feels kinda twisted when I experience visual dizziness.
I am so determined to get through this.

I finally got the courage together to do this!! I woke up this morning afraid to even open my eyes and then I did this while looking at the kitchen counter which always terrifies me because it looks like its moving underneath me. I focused on the feeling of dread in my stomach that the visual symptoms trigger in me and it felt less intense and more bearable and for a moments thoughts quietened down. Towards the end my brain started screaming “but I want the symptoms to go away!! What if they don’t get better!!” but I kept with the exercise and will do it again

The counter moving up and down is one of my several eye problems. The new one is the light switch moving fast to the right and then back.

I ve done recently some vestibulair rehab working on those visual symptoms and as a result it s getting worse. I was doing a lot better since getting your free course(thanks so much for that )and doing the palouse mindfullness program. Hopefully this somatic exercice will help fast! And in accordance with my doctor ive stopped vestib rehab for the moment...simulating my triggers in a virtual environment was close to a torture.

Yes, VRT exercises are not the answer for everyone. You are on the right track!

Thought I'd sail right thru this, however, I had a definite solar plexus/vegus nerve? reaction. I was a bit dizzy and very dull headed for hours. Interestingly, I even raised my arms as if I were holding the steering wheel and that intensified the symptoms. I tried raising my arms later as if driving, and it does have an unpleasant effect.

Thank you for this! I was doing better this summer but for the last few days the weather and the pressure changed a lot and it’s making me way more dizzy, tired and unable to focus my eyes..have you ever heard someone else with this problem?

Yes! Ask Dr. Yo: why do biological and environmental triggers bring on or worsen my dizziness symptoms? ua-cam.com/video/StYWlDFkFjM/v-deo.htmlsi=A4ZDgOtWd53S_j1K

This pic looks just like a road I take where I get symptoms. If it was a video vs still it would be interesting.

Different folks will need to use different stimuli for this exercise so I'd like people to find the visual stimulus that fits their needs.

Hi dr Yonit, I have a question, can I walk on a sand ? We’re planning a holiday and I’m scared to walk in a sand or to swim, will it slow my healing journey ?

Walk on sand. It’s excellent for your vestibular system.

Finding this site and free course has been amazing for me in learning about this condition I am suddenly faced with. I have taken the free course and watched many many videos and the one thing that I still wonder about is your position on Pharmaceutical intervention to also help with symptoms. No where in any of the videos do you address medications. Is this something you can comment on as to your position in regards to medications to help with PPPD? Thanks so much and completely respect if you are unable to share those views.

      @TheSteadyCoach  Рік тому

You’re not doing anything wrong. It takes practice to notice what you’re feeling in your body. When you feel visual symptoms, people often feel frustrated or upset or scared. Just try to notice those reactions and work with them.
