Rebbe, you have done it again! I took a couple of classes at Hillsdale U with Justin about Genesis and another with a historian called The message of Christianity- the latter, first. Which brought me to Messianic faith but I still wanted more. Not knowing much about Christian teachings, Justin’s teachings of Genesis made so much sense to me. Of course, I wanted to hear more. My Aunt who is a devout Christian, later I found out a Zionist. Um, no one in that class was happy with my explanations as we went thru Genesis especially. The teacher told me I had a Greek mindset, and of course, I put her in her place ( this was in Facebook) not in an ugly fashion, but in a way that her class was a one way street and she only saw snapshots of me on FB. How was she to know what kind of mindset I had? I asked her. But now I realize I am more aligned with Judaism than Christian bc I have learned more about the Christian mindset and I do not agree. But thank so much Rebbe Singer for sharing your wisdom, knowledge, etc bc now I don’t feel alone. Only my mother would have accepted me , God Bless her soul she passed 3 years ago, 2 days before Christian Christmas. I was the only one there. Shalom and Blessings to you , your family and the people who make this happen!

RABBI makes a great point . The majority of Christians learn about Jesus ( Greek Scriptures ) before receiving any education on Hebrew Scriptures ,( if any at all. ).
In fact, some Christains attempt to claim " Jesus is all you need"

In the Mishna, Megillah 1:8, Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel is quoted as having said that Greek is the only language, other than Hebrew, in which it is permissible to write sifrei Torah. Commenting on this, the Jerusalem Talmud (Megillah 71c) says that the sages checked and discovered that Greek is the only language into which it is possible to translate the Torah with its exact meaning.
According to this Rabbi, the Torah can be translated into Greek, meaning that God can communicate His message without being restricted to one language.
The Talmud (tractate Sefer Torah, 1:8) says: Seventy sages translated the Torah into Greek for King Ptolemy. That day was as difficult for the people of Israel as the day on which the [Golden] Calf was made; for the Torah could not be fully translated.
Laws of Tefillin, Mezuzah and Sefer Torah - Chapter One Halacha 19 Tefillin and mezuzot may be written only in Assyrian script. Permission was granted to write Torah scrolls in Greek as well. That Greek language has, however, been forgotten from the world. It has been confused and has sunk into oblivion. Therefore, at present, all three sacred articles may be written using Assyrian script alone.
Megillah 9b Abbahu said that Rabbi Yoḥanan said: The halakha is in accordance with the opinion of Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel. And Rabbi Yoḥanan said: What is the reason for the opinion of Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel? He based his opinion on an allusion in the Torah, as the verse states: “God shall enlarge Japheth, and He shall dwell in the tents of Shem” (Genesis 9:27), indicating that the words of Japheth shall be in the tents of Shem. The language of Javan, who is the forbear of the Greek nation and one of the descendants of Japheth, will also serve as a sacred language in the tents of Shem, where Torah is studied.
The Gemara asks: And say that it is the languages of Gomer and Magog that serve as sacred languages, as they too were descendants of Japheth (see Genesis 10:2). The Gemara answers that Rabbi Ḥiyya bar Abba said: This is the reason, as it is written: “God shall enlarge [yaft] Japheth [Yefet].” Yaft is etymologically similar to the Hebrew term for beauty [yofi]. The verse teaches that the beauty of Japheth shall be in the tents of Shem, and Greek is the most beautiful of the languages of the descendants of Japheth.

@@marcokite The Gospel says Jesus is not God.
The Gospel says do not confuse the servants of God with God.
Note 1. A man who does not know the hour is not God meaning do not confuse God with a man who does not know the hour.
Note 2. If God is one then the Gospel would teach that Jesus does not know the hour in Gospel of Matthew 24:36.
Note 3. If God is three in one then the Gospel would teach both Jesus and God know the hour.
Note 4. In the Gospel Jesus is not God because Jesus does not know the hour meaning the teaching that Jesus is God or part of God contradicts the Gospel meaning Trinity was invented after the time of Jesus and after the writing of the Gospels.
Note 5. There is only one God because no one is equal to God, not Jesus and not the angels.
Note 6. Jesus is like the angels and other creations meaning Jesus is not like God.
In the Gospel Jesus is not God or part of God because Jesus does not know “the hour” because only God knows “the hour” meaning “God is one’ not three in one.
Note 7. In the time of Prophet Jesus no one believed that Jesus is God because Jesus was delivering the words of God like the prophets before him who all confirmed that
"God is not a man" in Numbers 23:19, 1 Samuel 15:29 and Hosea 11:9 and
"God is not the son of man" in Numbers 23:19 and
"Do not liken anyone or anything to God" in Isaiah 40:25 and Isaiah 46:5 and
The warning from messiah king David that “there is no salvation in the son of man” in Psalm 146:3.
Meaning Jesus is not God in the sight of all the people who saw him 2000 years ago.
The Jewish people 2000 year ago and today understood and understand the meaning of Numbers 23:19, 1 Samuel 15:29, Hosea 11:9, Numbers 23:19, Isaiah 40:25, Isaiah 46:5 and Psalm 146:3 which is explained above and that “God is one” which is the First of the Ten Commandments of God is not the same as “God is three in one” because adding “three in one” violates the commandment of God in Deuteronomy 4:2 "not to add or subtract" to what God has commanded in the Torah for 100,000 years which is the thousandth generation if each generation lived for 100 years in Deuteronomy 5:10 meaning forever in Deuteronomy 29:28 in Jewish Tanakh or Deuteronomy 29:29 in a Christian Bible meaning no one can add or subtract to the commandment that “God is one” by adding “God is three in one” because God has forbidden anyone from doing such a thing so that people can judge true prophets who confirm the word of God from false prophets and dreamers of false dreams who add or subtract from the word of God especially in the first and most important of the Ten Commandments of God that “God is one” not “three in one.”

It's not surprising that Jesus, as a man, would have had a moment of doubt & despair on the cross during his torture.
He already had questioned the need when praying in Gethsemane. The quote points to the whole psalm & it's meaning, which ends in an acceptance of the situation & a final peace. Of course one has to question whether anyone was able to hear what Jesus said on the cross. While hanging on the cross as a man he surely felt the agonising pain. Even if he foresaw it that did not lessen his agony.

Yup! Ps 22:16,18 say it all. There are literally hundreds of OT prophecies about the coming Messiah. The other given name-attributes of the Messiah are the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Branch, the Seed of the women, the Redeemer, the Saviour, the holy Stump, the Rock, Immanuel, Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, .... Every one of these name-attributes describe who the Anointed One truly is. Just look briefly at some of these overwhelming prophecies.
      (Pro 30:4; Zec 6:12,13):
The name of the Son of God is *Yeshua [H'Meshiah].* He is the Branch, the only *Priest-King* of Israel in the order of Melchizedek.
      (Isa 7:14; 9:6 NIV):
The child born of the *alma* [ie young maiden or 'virgin'] will be called Immanuel, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, ...
      (Zec 11: 11-13 cf 1Cor 2: 7,8 NIV):
The Lord of Glory was priced at thirty pieces of silver. Thus the afflicted of the flock who were watching Him knew it was the word of the LORD.
*Stay safe and blessed in Christ Jesus!*

Even as the gospel of John is claimed to have the highest level of Christology, we have Jesus saying this after his resurrection, chapter 20:17 - "Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." This suggests that Jesus' God is God the Father. How does this make sense?

Psalm 22 is also in the present tense. Can't be a prophecy. Mark didn't intend for it to be a prophecy. It's a literary style called foreshadowing to make it appear that Jesus is like David. The early church claimed incorrectly that it was a prophecy.

@@shefawines4315 The assertion that Psalm 22 cannot be a prophecy because it is in the present tense overlooks the nature of biblical prophecy, which often uses present tense to describe future events vividly.Mark's Gospel and other New Testament writings reference Psalm 22 to highlight the parallels between the suffering of David and the suffering of Jesus, suggesting that David's experiences foreshadowed those of Jesus. The early church saw these connections as fulfilling the prophecy, not as a mere literary device. The claim that the early church incorrectly identified Psalm 22 as a prophecy disregards the interpretive tradition within Christianity that sees the Old Testament as containing types and shadows of Christ's life and mission. This perspective is rooted in the belief that the entire Bible is a unified narrative pointing to Jesus as the Messiah. In light of 1 Corinthians 1:25, the early church's interpretation of Psalm 22 as a prophecy reflects a divine wisdom that transcends human understanding. What might seem foolish or incorrect to human reasoning can be part of a greater divine plan that surpasses our limited perspective.

Thank you rabbi you are doing Hashem's work. Can I ask you, how Christians explain why Joseph did not check if Marry was still a virgin whilst pregnant with Jesus? He seemed to struggle to believe her whilst she was pregnant. Why not organize an orthodox midwives as 2 witnesses to confirm she was a pregnant virgin and declare it to the masses? This way they could have convinced a lot of jews about Jesus as it was a confirmed miracle? It would be great to hear your explanation as chat GPT gave silly comment that Joseph did not want to embarrass Marry, which makes no sense if he struggled to accept it. Both of them accuse the other of not being true christians, how can they all have the same " holy spirit " but have two totally different viewpoints on the same book. The confusion in christianity is what drove me to leave it.

So dont ever say i was " never a believer " there are so many holes in the new testament it is unfathomable. True has to be revealed.

The Church SEEMES to give “logical” answers, but when you really think about it, it falls apart. Consider this: Matthew 1:1-17 is EXPLICITLY CLEAR that this is Jesus’ BIOLOGICAL PATERNAL GENEALOGY, yet Christians immediately forget all 17 verses as soon as they get to verse 18!!!!!! Verses 18-25 MUST be read in the context of verses 1-17!!!! Think about this CAREFULLY!!!!

Right, the audience is to be reminded of the humanity, the vulnerability of the savior. As Tovia stated, it adds the tension needed to make the story dramatic. We are to experience both the physical and psychological pain christ suffered for us, who could do nothing for our selves. Thus making us eternally indebted. And teaching typology, the audience is supposed to look for similarities between the testaments. The serpent on the pole, christ on the cross. Which is to convince the reader that this was one continuous story from the tree of knowledge to the cross.

*Jesus has a God because God the Father is the God of the spirits of all Flesh. From the womb, Jesus had a God.
*Jesus quoted psalms 22 so that those that heard could understand the situation. God heard Him, answered Him, was always with Him, and Jesus completed what he vowed to do.
*The agony of knowing was the whole point. Of course Jesus knew what was going to happen.. that's why it was distressing... He didn't have to do it to receive anything.. He already had it. Jesus humbled himself and suffered it for our sake.. not His own.

Yohanan, who said: The Holy One, blessed be he, does nothing without consulting his heavenly family,¹⁵ as it is written, The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the verdict by the word of the Holy Ones (Dan. 4:14).¹⁶ Now, that is satisfactory for all (the other verses cited), but how do we explain “until thrones were set in place” (Dan. 7:9)?-One (throne) was for him [God] and one for David. For it has been taught: One (throne) was for him and one for David-these are the words of Rabbi Aqiva.¹⁷ In the first three examples, Bible verses are juxtaposed in which God’s name Elohim (formally plural) is collocated once with a plural verb and then with a singular one. The heretics conclude from the first verses that there are multiple Gods.
Yeah, but that's what they do with even their own text like God shrinking the size of the moon!
      Chullin 60b:4
God saw that the moon was not comforted. The Holy One, Blessed be He, said: Bring atonement for me, since I diminished the moon. The Gemara notes: And this is what Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish says: What is different about the goat offering of the New Moon, that it is stated with regard to it: “For the Lord” (Numbers 28:15)? The Holy One, Blessed be He, said: This goat shall be an atonement for Me for having diminished the size of the moon.
Israel brings a goat offering on Rosh Chodesh because it is believed that God caused the moon to shrink, and as a result, seeks atonement from Israel for the sins He has committed.
Numbers 28:15 Reads as “to the Lord.” but the Rabbi reads it as “for the Lord”. Twisting the apparent meaning of the text
The Holy One, Blessed be He, said: This goat shall be an atonement for Me for having diminished the size of the moon.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
Another one is God Plays & Studies Torah! utterly Blasphemy.
Avodah Zarah 3b:7 During the first three, the Holy One, Blessed be He, sits and engages in Torah study. During the second three hours, He sits and judges the entire world. Once He sees that the world has rendered itself liable to destruction, He arises from the throne of judgment and sits on the throne of mercy, and the world is not destroyed.
Avodah Zarah 3b:8 Evidently, God makes sport every day, not only on that one day. Rav Naḥman bar Yitzḥak says in explanation: He makes sport with His creations, just as He sports with the leviathan; He does not make sport of His creations but on that day alone.
Daf Shevui to Avodah Zarah 3b:6 The notion that God laughs only at the end of days is countered by a tradition in which God laughs, playing with the leviathan, every day.
Daf Shevui to Avodah Zarah 3b:14
God seems to have fun by night. Either he rides around on his chariot, visiting his 18,000 worlds. Or he listens to his singing angels.
The notion that their God rides in a chariot to tour His 18,000 worlds for amusement, according to the rabbis, is profoundly blasphemous.
God needed to become Impure to save Israel?
Rabbi Shimon said: Great is the love for Israel, as the Holy One blessed be He revealed Himself in a place of idol worship, a place of filth, and a place of impurity in order to redeem them. This is analogous to a priest whose teruma fell into a cemetery. He says: What shall I do? To impurify myself is impossible, and to leave my teruma there is impossible. It is preferable that I render myself impure one time and then purify myself, and [thus] I will not lose my teruma. So, our ancestors were the teruma of the Holy One blessed be He, as it is stated: “Israel is holy to the Lord, [the first of His crop]” (Jeremiah 2:3). They were among the graves, as it is stated: “As there was no house in which there were none dead” (Exodus 12:30), and it says: “And Egypt was burying [those whom the Lord had smote]” (Numbers 33:4). The Holy One blessed be He said: How do I redeem them? To leave them there is impossible. It is preferable to come down and redeem them, as it is stated: “I came down to deliver them from the hand of Egypt” (Exodus 3:8). When He took them out, He summoned Aaron, and he purified Him, as it is stated: “He shall atone for the Holy of Holies [mikdash hakodesh]” (Leviticus 16:33), “He shall atone for the Sanctuary [hakodesh]” (Leviticus 16:16).
Israel brings a goat offering on Rosh Chodesh because it is believed that God caused the moon to shrink, and as a result, seeks atonement from Israel for the sins He has committed.
And they say it's weird that God became a Man?? Huh because they are worried to be label as "killers" even though jews today have nothing to do about it's all a stereotype. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Think about this CAREFULLY!!!!

exactly, understanding(who/mi) was important to KING gd, so his son(what/ma) could save as a messiah(first/ primordial light) ... but that s the rabbi s point. it s not literal to have people worship a dead lamb on a cross. especially, when a sacrifice is meant to purify and wash you clean, its not a god. , The son(what/ma) is the tikkun of the foolish soul garbed in/through the garment of the daughter /kingdom Israel ... dan/judgment 111/ tmhg.. if your question was literal, uhh, Darius is the son that rebuilds the second temple, son of Queen Esther.

If jesus meant the God of Isreal, then he shouldn't have proclaimed his body and blood as sacrifice.

The wonderful thing here, as terrible as it all was, is, that Jesus was telling us that his death and resurrection were unaided by Jehovah. That is, that if we live righteously, according to the Ten Commandments, and follow a strict life of righteous obedience, we too will have rebirth to look forward to. Our Judgement is based on this fact. At the appointed time a huge portal will open up and consume Planet Earth. We must be ready. Wormwood has been observed approaching the Earth by many observers, and Revelation will play out exactly as described...and all who have ever lived will be Judged by their ability to withstand these horrible forces that are coming with the passover of Wormwood.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
And the word became flesh and dwelt among us. He who came down also rose up creating a eternal inheritance, allowing us to become eternal heirs to his incorruptible Glorified life. God with us, salvation and deliverance.
1{A Psalm of David.} The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

The fact that the Gospel of Mark uses the beginning of Psalm 22 in the crucifixion story but never references verses shortly thereafter (Psalms 22:16/17 - “like a lion [at] my hands and feet” or “pierced my hands and feet”) is very striking. Psalms 22:16/17 would seem to be an irresistible Hebrew scripture prophecy. Please understand that the earliest Christian writers (Paul’s letters and the Synoptic Gospels) never mention any type of ‘crucifixion’ wounds or being nailed to the cross. Even Jesus’ post-appearance story in Luke 24:36-43 does not mention any type of wounds. Jesus is asking his disciples to see exposed parts of his body not covered by clothing (i.e., his hands and feet) to prove he is not a ghost and calm their fears. The fact that the earliest Christian writers didn’t reference Psalms 22:16/17 could be seen as proof that the concept of nail wounds didn’t exist early on. The first mention of wounds appears in the later Gospel of John in a sensationalized embellishment of the post-appearance story. The Gospel of John adds the only documented violence against Jesus while he was on the cross - never mentioned in the three Synoptics.

The fact the Rabbis never uses the beginning of Psalms 22 in the suffering preexisted messiah but never references verses shortly thereafter Psalms 22:16/17 - “like a lion [at] my hands and feet” or “pierced my hands and feet” but just putting words in G-d's mouth that he never said!) is very striking.
Psalms 22:16 Pesikta Rabbati 36:1 Midrash
[When He created the Messiah], the Holy One, blessed be He, began to tell him the conditions [of his future mission], and said to him: “Those who are hidden with you [your generation], their sins will in the future force you into an iron yoke, and they will render you like unto a calf whose eyes have grown dim, and they will choke your spirit with the yoke, and because of their sins your tongue will cleave to the roof of your mouth. Do you accept this?” The Messiah said before the Holy One, blessed be He, “Master of the World! Will that suffering last many years?” The Holy One, blessed be He, said to him: “By your life and the life of my head, it is a septenary of it that I decreed upon you. But if your soul is troubled, I shall banish them as from this moment.” He said before Him: “Master of the Worlds! With gladness in my soul and with joy in my heart I accept it, so that not a single one of Israel should perish; and not only those who will be alive should be saved in my days, but even the dead who have died from the days of Adam the first man until now. And not only they, but even the stillborn should be saved in my days; and not only the stillborn, but even those to whose creation You gave thought but who were not created. This is what I want, this is what I accept!” (Pes. Rab. pp. 161a-b)
Luke 24 44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”
Notice how he mentions the book of Psalms which includes Psalms 22:16-17
Stick with philosophy buddy. This is not the type of game for you.

Shalom, in reply to my question to the Rabbi, of; "WHO was this "Darius the Mede" at Dan 11:1, that was SO IMPORTANT that angel Gabriel was SPECIFICALLY sent by the Almighty to strengthen him?"
The Rabbi replied "Darius the Mede was an understated great man who rejoiced for Daniel"
And I am thankful for his reply, but for OTHER reasons, apart from the fact that throughout the ENTIRE Inspired Scriptures [Tanach], the Almighty has ONLY ever sent His divine angels to 'CONSEQUENTIAL' men. In fact, He has NEVER sent even an UNNAMED angel to anyone, SIMPLY because they merely "REJOICED FOR" any of His servants (the prophets), or any
similar TRIVIAL reason, more so to send that 'extra' SPECIAL messenger (I think we could all agree) "GABRIEL", who "STANDS IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD" Lk 1:19, 26.
Even the Christian writers, in their story there (WHETHER fabricated or not), NOTABLY, has Gabriel, and NOT any unnamed angel, in their all important 'Messianic' birth story. I am (respectfully) aware of "Darius the Mede" at Dan 5:31; 6; 9:1; & 11:1 .
In light of all the foreoing, My follow up QUESTION to the Rabbi therefore is WHO was "Darius the Mede" in real (or secular), HISTORY?

I think that Jesus actually said these words on the cross, or words to that effect. The reason: He expected the Kingdom of G-d to occur before he died. That did not happen so he despaired and said those words. He did not know that he was going to resurrect, he did not think he was THE Son of G-d. He felt at the end that he failed. And guess what? He did. So his followers invented the resurrection so that he didn't fail. It was beyond belief for his followers to believe that he was not special in some way, and when he died the way he did, they had a choice: Either admit that he was a failure or change the story so that he didn't fail. They obviously chose the latter, hence Christianity.

Yeshua being a Jew, knew the messianic prophecies. Although, Yeshua may have believed that he was the messiah, I don't believe that Yeshua told his followers that he would die on the cross and resurrect 3 days later. The reason I believe this is because of this statement. Yeshua knew he was dying and also knew that the messiah doesn't die. Sad!

I found absurd your argumentation that because in that psalm David (or who wrote it) was talking about himself, other person after cannot apply the psalm to a similar experience and found some consolation on it. Every believer Jew or christian do that all the time.

but despite those misconceptions, its still a good question, but as we know, back in the day there were no chapters, there was no Psalm "nr. 22", probably you know it as a rabbi. But calling out the first words of the psalm, someone would notice the reference.

Rab. pp. 161a-b)
Even though Psalms 22:16 is about David according to the Rabbis Hashem decreed the Messiah would suffer and bear the sins of Israel in Psalms 22:16. Why did the rabbis put words in God's mouth if Psalms 22 is about the David?
If Hashem decreed the Messiah would suffer and bear the sins of Israel for Psalms 22:16 why does G-d ask the messiah if he is willing to bear the sins of Israel it was already decreed in the first place. “By your life and the life of my head, it is a septenary of it that I decreed upon you.
It's a weak argument to say did Jesus know the answer after all this is where Jesus if fulling what Psalms 22 says about him Psalm 22:6-8 "But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!
Luke 24 44 Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing...Save me from the mouth of the lion; at the horns of the wild oxen You have answered me!...All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD. The question IS a sincere question but Jesus is NOT feeling forsaken for being on the cross it is a question of WHEN will you end it FATHER?..He is saying for the father to TAKE him - he has completed his work!!. This is why he follows with “INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMAND MY SPIRIT”…
Of course in the garden of gethsemane Jesus “wrestles”with the question of how he must endure such torment unthinkable suffering. Can you Imagine KNOWING and Expecting the Physical Human Torture you are about to endure.? Despite being God in Spirit??. THIS IS WHY IT IS THE GREATEST EXAMPLE OF HUMAN SACRIFICE BECAUSE IT COMES FROM GOD HIMSELF.
Jesus in his bodily form SUBMITS to the Father. He knows This must happen to fulfil his mission.

Rabbi Singer: Given that you reject Jesus Christ as Messiah out-of-hand, it stands to reason why you would go out of your way to make up such a tortuous explanation for Jesus' quotation of the first line of the 22nd Psalm. You'll say anything other than that Jesus on the cross was responding to those who mocked Him with the most straightforward and succinct of answers: His suffering was all part of the necessary payment for the sins of the world.
Why don't you have the simple integrity to begin each of your apologetic videos with ''I don't believe Jesus is Messiah. I think that the Gospels are a load of fiction!'' and be done with it?

Read my comment above. I spent 20 years studying Christianity and following Jesus only to return back to Judaism. It's not a question of whether or not someone believes in him. The New testament does not make any sense. Every attempt for them to make Jesus into God is so they are not violating the first commandment. In essence Christianity is idol worship... It's the religion of the Greco-Romans. Jesus would have never asked anyone to worship him. Christians make it into whatever they need to with full disregard for who Jesus was and what he actually said and believed in. He did not call himself God nor did he ask to be worshiped all of this was injected by the Romans and Greeks.

      @@davidjoshua1075 Your statements:
      (1) ''It's not a question of whether or not someone believes in him.'' This is the very essence of the contention. Christianity argues that the Gospels are eye-witness accounts... and they have their own centuries of scholarship affirming that the Gospels are authentic accounts of what transpired in Roman-occupied Judea / Samaria / Perea / Galilee in the years surrounding Jesus' ministry. Basically, you're saying you're smarter than all of them; many of whom were full-on hostile-to-God atheists before their own analysis of the Gospels.
      (2) ''Jesus would have never asked anyone to worship him.'' Jesus accepted worship from any number of people. In front of the High Priest (not a descendant of Zadok, btw) Jesus equated Himself with the Ancient of Days... effectively declaring Himself to be God in the flesh. For that, Caiaphas condemned Jesus of blasphemy and sought the death penalty.
But, seeing as to you the ''Gospels make no sense'' why are we even discussing anything? Clearly, you have made up your mind. The blindness foretold by the Apostle Paul is still upon you. But, as with all prophecy, it is a certainty that should you live to see His return, you will weep over Jesus as one does over a lost only child.

There is practical agreement between the Mark and the Matthew in regard to the last words uttered by the Son of Man, namely, Eli! Eli! lama sabachthani? - the Aramaic words which are commonly translated in our English Testaments, " My God ! My God ! why hast thou forsaken me? " These are the English words for the first sentence in the Twenty second Psalm. It is probable they were never intended by him who spoke them as a quotation from the Psalm, but were the spontaneous utterance of genuine despair put forth when every hope was lost. Had they been intended as a Biblical quotation they would have been given in Biblical Hebrew, the Sacred Language, and not in vulgar Aramaic. It is possible they were a plaintive protest at Eleazar' Simon Peter Rehem his first born Son failure to rescue him in his dire ex tremity, for the words Eli! Eli! or Eloi! Eloi! as in the Mark are the endearing diminutive of Eleazar which he, perhaps customarily, applied to his only son. Two facts appear to corroborate this view. One of them is that the first sentence in the Syriac text of the twenty- second Psalm reads " lamna shabachthani," and is properly translated " why hast thou forsaken me," while the sentence quoted in the Greek text reads " lama sabachthani," and signifies merely, " Hast thou forsaken me? The diflFerence lies between lamna, meaning "why," and Zo^wa, which is a mere sign of interrogation, like num in Latin, and is not translated in modern English.
The second fact is that the Gospel stories relate that immediately after the arrest of the Son of Man in Rome in Garden he was forsaken by the Peter and his military comrades. The Simon Peter Rehem is not reported by any of the Evangelists as having been present at execution and it is possible that the thought which darkened the last moment of the Son of Man was this : Did the Peter, his first-born son, the Jehid, or darling of his very heart, forsake him too? If that be the interpretation, it deserves to stand with the classical last words which another military genius his great grand father julius caesar uttered under somewhat different circumstances to his adopted son, " Et tu. Brute! "
On the other hand if they were intended as a despairing rebuke to the deity for failing him and the great cause in the last bitter hour, they are profoundly, immeasurably sad. Coming from the man whose faith was the stronghold that had withheld the hosts of Rome General Titus for the prophetic period of three and one-half years in 70 A.D - from one whose very name was a synonym for that mighty Hebrew power predicted to crush the tyrants of the Goim Rome, these words of dire disaster and desolation bespeak the complete collapse of the fortress of his faith with the breaking of his great heart while nailed to his military Stake

Believe This, the Lord thy God is your redeemer.
25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
But He was wounded for are transgression, bruised for are iniquities, the chastisement of are peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed.
    Sin Separates Us from God
1Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
8The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
9Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
10We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
11We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
    12For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
13In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
    Salvation is Only of God
*16And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.*
*17For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.*
18According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
19So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
    The Covenant of the Redeemer
20And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

No, it would not have been within Jesus character nor his mission to say anything like that, which, as you know, was yet another attempt to put the mantle of Messiah upon his shoulders, a mantel he definitely rejected when/if he said "my kingdom is not of this world". He could only have been forsaken if he was feeling pain. But his mission, on the cross, included a demonstration of fearlessness in the face of potential pain, which he had already dismissed as a matter of will. Pain, after all, is part of the sin matrix, and it was not Jesus intention to involve Good in any part of S.I.N, defined as Seriously Insane Notions about Christ/Good. If it were possible to dismiss pain, it is also possible to dismiss death, also a factor within the sin complex. If so, this was not a sacrifice, but rather a demonstration of power over the matrix, suggesting to anyone wise enough to notice, that maybe the matrix is not real (the truth), and maybe it can be dismissed (overcome) by a strong appeal to reality (the truth). After all, people only dismiss pain and death is dreams. If this is what happened, then this is indeed a dream from which we only need to awaken.

The word spoken was Aramaic. It meant not just God, but father God. He was referring to his Father who made him. Who he prayed to for 40 days in the desert.
Always find it strange that there is little question that spirit creatures can inhabit a human. Jesus and Apostles cast them out. On the other hand, find I’d difficult that Jesus is a perfect human, made by God, becomes spirit connected to God. And same as the Word is in heaven is connected to God, a human is connected directly to God.
Just know that Satan was desperately out to kill Jesus. From the moment of his conception, Satan manipulated things to try and kill him. But the Lord protected him.
