Honestly Mike I am hoping for the best when it comes to this release. I want everything. Fantastic packaging, amazing 4K transfers with Dolby Atmos and of course Quality special features. For that price I hope they deliver on it. Great to hear that you pre-ordered it yourself.
Apparently uncut versions of the films and new previously unseen inserts of other Sequels are in this set but I guess we shall see

Found out about this release earlier today. It's typical that we all bought the steelbook of the first film, and now they release the box set. Will still probably order it though, instead of waiting for individual releases.
You never know it still might work out for you because the Steelbook could have different artwork. It's all up in the air at the moment. Fingers crossed Warner Brothers deliver on this set particularly when it comes to the transfers.
They might sell it in the HMV in Dublin city, I will keep an eye out for it for you Kieth

There is a few pictures circulating online showing what the box set is going to look like. Whether it's authentically I honestly don't know. But it does look good

Have absolutely no intention of picking up the Dark Knight trilogy. I own far too many releases already
Hi Keith, today I got an e-mail from Zavvi with the pre-order announcement for Elm Street. I do hope you're right about the individual steelbooks in a box set. I could see Warner go cheap on this release with all 7 4Ks in one slightly bigger steelbook with hardly any extras (like they did with the complete Rocky collection). I don't know about the transfers. Hopefully, they give us at least the (not quite perfect) picture quality we have seen with the first film with Dolby Atmos for all movies. It would be great if Warner included the unrated cut of Dream Child but I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't know why exactly but I have this strange feeling that the Elm Street collection will leave us somewhat underwhelmed. Let's all just hope for the best possible release.
I've said this a few times tonight Ash the only thing I'm taking positives from is the fact that it is Warner Brothers and 9 out of 10 times they always deliver when it comes to their 4K transfers. The thing is when you see 7 movies in a box set you can't help but think the worst. To be honest I would be amazed if they came with Dolby Atmos soundtracks. I really hope I'm wrong and I'm hoping neither of us will be feeling anyway underwhelmed when it comes out. Surely Warner Brothers must be aware of how anticipated this release is going to be. In terms of the unrated version the fact that we got the original fully uncut I'm hoping they will continue with that trend. Hopefully it won't be too long before we start getting a bit of information in terms of what we are getting. We will have to wait and see my friend.
I already pre-ordered through Zavvi. My thought is I can always cancel if other retailers pick it up for cheaper price. But at least it is done.
Yeah that's the best way to do it. I'm just waiting for it to appear on Amazon so I can do the same.

Was hoping for separately collectors releases like the 1st one. I never collect multiple copies of same movie this might be a first for me as i really like the one i have. May just hang it out and buy if it drops later or im sure we will get separate steels some time.

Freddy was always MY favorite Horror Movie Villan. I loved his Sarcasm and fun in Vs pure evil & gore for the sake of gore. Freddy was a perfect villain in my opinion... He was in it for the love of the game...
I have to agree with you. I don't think I would see him as my favourite villain. The Crown for me has to go to Michael Myers. But of course taking nothing away from Freddy Krueger he's unlike anything we've ever seen before. Hopefully he'll look even better with the 4K transfers.
Its hard to know which way its going to go price wise, it would be nice to know how many will be printed.
I'm wondering will they do something similar to the Superman box set. Make it a numbered Edition but a ridiculous number. Over 25, 000.

The fact that the original came fully uncut fingers crossed they will continue that trend with the sequels. I honestly cannot wait to check them out

You can't help but get somewhat nervous when you see seven movies in a collection on 4k. You think somewhere along the line something is going to suffer. Something's telling me it's going to be Dolby Atmos. I'm hoping I'm wrong
@@millerman9991 I was thinking that myself, or that both the films and their extra features will be on the one disc per steel. Some have even said about the uncensored version of 5 not being on there as well, but I hope it is.
I think we are all hoping for the best when it comes to this collection. But another part of me still thinks we are going to be somewhat underwhelmed by some aspect of it. Hopefully it won't be long before we find out

I do indeed have that set and I have absolutely no intention of ever getting rid of it. Regardless of how this 4K set is going to look I still think the mediabook collection will always be the desired edition to own. They're almost impossible to buy

They have all 7 covers to The final terror and they ship internationally as far as i know.

Yeah, I get that £199.99 is steep but if you consider the price of individual 4k steelbooks: Jaws 3 on Zavvi is like £39.99 (just for jaws 3), It came from outer space is £44.99 etc.
4k Steelbooks ARE expensive.
The collectors edition of anoes1 gave me faith that this set would be done well, so for less than £29 each film, I've pre-ordered it.
It goes without saying but I absolutely agree with everything you said. I even mentioned in the video if you buy the Steelbooks individually chances are you going to be paying a hell of a lot more money.

After Indiana Jones Steelbook set turned up badly damaged and they cancelled my order for Violent Night due to overselling I fucked Zavvi off haven't bought anything from them since

Hi there. I think I will take the gamble but I am expecting the whole works Dolby vision / extended cuts / Dolby atmos and and great artwork on the main tin . Maybe someone will get an advanced copy so can always cancel if not happy 😊 as it is a lot of money. As for the dark knight box set I’m happy with the previous individual box sets .

That is always going to be a huge concern. The only thing I will say Mark is 9 out of 10 times Warner Brothers always deliver when it comes to there 4K transfers. I'm quite confident on this one

No it's definitely not going to be that. They have confirmed it's going to be 7 steelbooks inside a metal box. It's just a question of how well it's going to look. Of course not forgetting about the 4K transfers as well

What about The Dark Knight Trilogy that's coming out in the same format? I have all 3 of the Ultimate Collectors Edition releases so not sure it'll be worth it for me.
I can tell you now I definitely will not be picking them up because I have those collectors Editions myself and for me it can't get much better than those
Hey Keith, this release scares me a little bit. I’m worried we might get a water down restoration effort for instance, I’m guessing and I hope I’m wrong They’ll opt not to do Atmos on the sequels let’s hope they do my fingers are crossed.
We have no official release in the US. The only way is to order on zavvi US for a whopping $280 US with shipping i’m sure the price will come down like you said and I’m definitely going to wait and I agree with you,I think these will stick around as they release the original nightmare first I think these will be available. if they didn’t released the original nightmare first, and waited and released them all together, I think the set would sell out rather quickly.
Glad you’re picking up the dollar trilogy I think you’ll like them. They are definitely a slower burn very different from his American westerns but definitely something to see I wouldn’t recommend binging them all at once One at a time would be my suggestion unless you simply can’t wait to watch the next one enjoy and have a great one as always. 👍
I completely understand your concerns John because I'm almost fearing the worst myself. You can't help it particularly when it comes to a 7 movie collection on 4k. The only thing that's keeping me positive is the fact that it is Warner Brothers. In terms of 4K transfers they never let me down. But I am like yourself I'm not expecting Dolby Atmos soundtracks for any of the sequels. I really do hope both of us are wrong when it comes to that.
As for the dollar trilogy yes I am very excited to finally cross these movies off my list. I'm on a great run at the moment when it comes to westerns and I'm sure it's going to continue with that trilogy. If I can I will try and binge watch them in one night. If not it'll be two and then one the following night. It looks like 2025 is shaping up to be a very special year in terms of physical Media. May it long continue.

keith great vid mate wb keeps killing it was watc hing your vid of invasion loved the movie but i dont think you can beat th 50s movie of invasion bluray saw this m ovie 4k in the us thourght great but did hear very bad print so kept the bluray keep up the great work tc steve
I think when it comes to invasion of the Body Snatchers the version I reviewed is probably my least favourite. For me it's the 78 version and then the 50s. But I got enjoyment from every single one of them. Thank you as always Steve for checking both videos out.
Hi Keith. As it transpires it appears that Zavvi aren't shipping to Ireland anyway. It would only give me the option to enter a UK address . Having thought about it I'll play a waiting game I think. Like you I'll wait to see with Amazon do. I suspect the announcement is partly to test the water I feel to see what sort of interest there is. At least with Amazon they don't take money up front so if a better option comes along people can just cancel but there is no doubt it's a collection that would be great to own. Hey Alan. I was under the impression that zavvi changed their shipping policy so that people from Ireland can order from them. Looks like it has changed again. Not that it makes any difference to me. I swore I would never buy from them again and I'm definitely sticking to it.

As for my Captain Kronos it appeared on Saturday believe it or not. The postman was working so I managed to get it and what a release it is.
@millerman9991 great stuff Keith and it is a wonderful set. It's very competitively priced too . I hope you enjoy it. The transfer is excellent and it's a very different take of a Vampire movie but I enjoyed it. The lead actor Horst Janson sadly passed away a few days ago.

I reckon the transfers will all be the same as the first one, maybe slightly better quality as each one goes on.
I mean yeah its expensive but looking at something like Game Of Thrones (going over £300, closer to £400) its not a bad investment if you dont want to miss out. Hopefully they ship them out in those white hard boxes. I'm interested to see how The Dark Knight Trilogy will look

Hello Keith, What are the transfers like on the existing Blu-ray collection. I ask because unless they are abysmal it's hard to justify ten times the price for this 4K set
I'm not going to say that the Blu-ray transfers are terrible but there is so much room for improvement. Don't forget you're not just paying for 4K transfers. It is of course all seven Steelbooks housed in a metal package. Not only that but you could be getting brand new special features and fingers crossed Dolby Atmos. It's all up in the air at the moment. I'm hoping for the best

I think the price will go down. I don't see this being a limited set. The other collector's edition for a nightmare on Elm Street is still available
This is why I’ve not rushed a pre-order at Keith. I will just wait till it comes available I think or maybe do it a few weeks beforehand or something. I’m not giving anyone my money beforehand. I’m tired of that as well. I’ve had so many problems with preorders especially with arrow they have told me loads of times. They’re going to give me promotions on like bottles of wine. Promotions on food and they’ve never once sent it out to me by email or by post I will not use arrow video again absolute rubbish

I don't order that often from arrow Video so I really can't comment. I get all of mine from Amazon. I'm definitely passing on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 because I already have a beautiful Blu-ray release from arrow Video of that movie. I'm not the biggest fan either
Keith, if you order that direct from a UK source will you not get hit with a pretty hefty customs charge? I'm living in Dundalk and have a Northern Ireland Amazon Hub as one of my addresses in my Amazon UK account. When something arrives you get an email saying it's ready for collection. Nice and simple. No hassle.
If I buy it directly from Amazon UK I will definitely not get hit by a custom charge. I don't know how Amazon get around it but you never have to worry about customs. That's why I'm waiting till it appears on Amazon UK and I can guarantee you it will. I do have address pal set up and I really need to look into using it. Come in very handy for those American releases

Yeah there is a few companies that found ways around custom charges. Arrow Video are another. You never have to worry

The thing is Gary they said the same thing when it came to the collector's edition and they ended up changing it. I'm hoping they'll do the same. They already have the Steelbook for the first with the original artwork so they may as well continue it

I've had a history of problems with Zavvi. Nearly Everything I ordered from them was damaged or they didn't come at all.
I like steelbooks, particularly when they use classic poster art, but I don't like these films enough to spend that amount of money or shelf space on this collection. I had that cheapo bluray collection of all the films, then upgraded to the hardbox HMV version that has postcards of all the poster art, so that will do me fine. Thats a happy medium between a nice collectable box with poster art included, and minimum shelf space taken up. It's an enjoyable series but it does get progressively worse as with all long running franchises.
Yeah I completely understand that Gary. I'm not going to lie a lot of the movies can be somewhat hit or Miss with me. I think it all depends on the mood that I'm in when I'm watching them. But it goes without saying I need to see all of them on 4K and I'm hoping Warner brother's deliver on those transfers.

I honestly didn't hate the remake myself Ian. Tell you the truth I really enjoyed it. I think we are in the minority though. I heard about the Dark Knight trilogy as well but I have absolutely no desire to pick it up. I have enough releases when it comes to that trilogy.
That is weird that you said that your Beetlejuice Steelbook was sent back by customs because a friend of mine had the same issue. What's the chances of that happening to both of you.

Ian I feel it's only right that I warn you that French 4K releases have a knack for having forced subtitles on them. I'm hoping everything will be ok with the three that you bought. I did buy Love Actually very recently from them and that did have forced subtitles. There's nothing more frustrating.
@millerman9991 oh shit aye , I got dog soldiers 4k steelbook from them and it did indeed have forced subtitles. On the ub820 you can change the subtitles to clear and shrink them to 0 , a bit of a fart on but it's basically turning forced subtitles off . I've probs got about half dozen from france Hopefully these turn up without that 👍

Zavvi have safe well packaged postage. While Amazon , my experience steelbooks come damaged with dends.....ordet at own risk and last resort.
There's a reason to why I don't buy of Zavvi and it's because nearly every item I got from them was damaged because of there poor packaging. I'm not going to defend Amazon because they're just as bad the only difference is Amazon's customer service is phenomenal where Zavvis is non-existent.
@millerman9991 thats interesting.....must depend on the country and the main distribution warehouse ? I been using Zavvi for a while and have had many orders, 4k slip covers, box sets , steelbooks arrive in prestine condition properly packaged with lots protection. I also have had good experience with WOWHD.

These could look fantastic if they’re done properly. There’s not a massive amount of compositing in these films. A lot of the effects are in camera, so that SHOULD cut down on the soft shots. I just hope they don’t mess with color grading of part 3. It’s meant to look desaturated.
Warner Brothers are probably my most reliable company when it comes to 4K transfer so it's going to be very interesting to see what they do. I thought the original had a solid 4K transfer but there was definitely room for improvement. Fingers crossed they get it right on the sequels. Part 3 is my favourite sequel. I hope they don't screw it up

Like I said in the video I'm hoping it's a price marker and things will change when it gets closer to it's release date. But I stand by what I said in the video I have a funny feeling if people do decide to wait there will be a monster drop in price particularly on Amazon Italy. I'm really hoping there will be. Yeah, collectors edition is less than I paid now, it's a trick I've noticed they stagger the release to make it appear to sell out...then they release a sh1t load more, blighters....
I know it does feel somewhat frustrating but I would rather them do that than letting the scalpers get their hands on a limited release. It'll be interesting to see what happens with this one

I do like Amazon Italy, Keith and I recommend it but at the end of the day, mate you want a nightmare in Elm Street Box in English not in Italian you might not agree with me you want the full language on the set in English it might even be like that I don’t know
Honestly Ryan I do not care. The only thing that will be in Italian is the J card that comes with it. Everything else will be in English. There's no way you are going to turn it down if it's 80 euros cheaper over an Italian J card

I got the LE of A Nightmare on Elm Street, it’s the only one I need to own to be honest. It’s a pass from me, even at £160 with 20% off at HMV. I’d never rewatch them.

This is Warner Bros. Ever since they bought New Line cinema in 2008 they have been treating the Noes series like a red headed stepchild. The Blu-ray set was terrible and this 4K steelbook set isn't going to be much better I think. Don't expect any new special features or documentaries for this set. Warner Bros is going to half ass this set and charge a premium for it.
I definitely understand your concerns James because everything we have gotten up to this point when it comes to A Nightmare on Elm Street has been very underwhelming to say the least. But there is pictures circulating at the moment showing what the set is going to look like and it looks very promising. Whether it's authentic or not I honestly don't know but it's definitely worth looking into

It does state that it's going to be all new artwork but having said that they said the exact same for the collector's release and we still managed to get the original poster artwork on the Steelbook. It goes without saying Sean but I feel very differently to you. Even with the Blu-ray set that I have the transfers are in desperate need of updating. Fingers crossed they deliver with this set. Not just transfers but I'm hoping there's going to be amazing packaging as well as some new special features that we've never seen before. Hopefully Dolby Atmos will play a factor as well. It's all up in the air at the moment. For that price they want to be giving us something special

I told you that I have is the Freddie nightmares collection. That’s something that would be amazing even if we got a DVD release Keith but yes, it’s something I guess but yes Freddie’s nightmares is something that I’m a big fan of and it would be nice to get that included with the box set still don’t know why they can’t get this together probably copyright I reckon
Well it is and it isn't Ryan because I think the problem with Freddy vs Jason is because it's a different studio that done that movie. It would have been hard to include it in this set. There was no way Freddy's nightmares was going to happen as much as I would love to see it. I have The Bootleg release myself and I'm happy with it
