JOE!!!!!!!!! you are an angel this EXACT thing just happened to me after a friend was helping me and put my jack back in!!!!!!!!!! i am experienced on the hood workings and have had to use a screw driver for years but this really got me and i've never had to release the latch with SOOOO much force but that's what it took and now i know why TY for taking the time to video this God bless
Thank You Soooooo Much! Similar thing happened to me. I was smart enough to check youtube and you were samart enought to share your information with me. Huge Help to me.
I had exactly this problem on a 1996 F150. Looked at a couple other videos that were difficult to attempt and didn't look to be worth trying. This worked great, except that I mistakenly tried to leverage off the vertical plastic center bar of the front grill that is in front of the latch. Instead you need to leverage against the metal upright behind the latch. Still, this worked great. Thanks so much for the solution.
Thanks this gave me the right idea didn’t quite open it the same way but I learned if you have someone who can help you have them push down on the left side of the hood why’ll you wiggle the lever and it comes right open
Saved me hours in in work I should have found this video the first time I did this instead of talking out all of the bolts to disconnect the locking mechanism. I loved your explanation on why this happened made me laugh. 10/10 would watch another video.
You saved my ass today…After fighting with the latch for two hours, I found your video and had my hood open in less than a minute..👍👍

I had to use rachet straps to pull it over far enough without crushing the condenser. Worked great thank you sir!!!

Thank you for posting. This works for me too.
Thank you so much for making this video Joe.
I did exactly this in my 1995 F150 XLT and have been looking for the answer.
Good to know this video helped
I had the same problem with my 1996 ford F250. I did exactly as you mentioned and it worked.
Worked perfectly on my ‘95 F150! Thanks
Thank you. Great video! 😊
this is EASIER with TWO people! If one person is pulling the tab and the other is pressing down on the hood, it should come undone!
I think you're right
Thank you. Same thing happened to me.
Thank you so much god bless
Helped me out
very glad to hear my video was of help to someone !
