I think that princess is the former crystal princess. When the crystal empire came back Celestia put her incharge of it. From what the crystal peoples words we can tell that there must have been a princess before the fall of the crystal empire. I think eather The prince who made the love potions. IS sombra who after making the princess distracted from her duties took over her kingdom or Sombra isn't the prince but when he sew them distracted he took the chance. Anndd It might be a little crazy but...we can tell that his horn is not usual. So what if he somehow took the princess powers, resulting in her demise. Edit: as for who cadence is, i don't think she's thair daughter. I think she got the destiny of replacing the crystal princess. Which is why Celestia took her under her wing

But didn’t during discords introduction say Princess Celestia and Princess Luna arrived in Equestria during discords reign to stop him, before becoming the rulers for what I could guess defeating discord as he was equestrias ruler by controlling it with his chaos.

What if that alicorn was Luna and the story of her becoming nightmare moon wasn’t fully told. What if she ruled a kingdom of her own but was forced into love making that kingdom fall. She then has to go and live with her celestia (who she doesn’t have a very close connection to because they haven’t seen each other in YEARS) and eventually the sisters salvage a friendship. Luna could have ruled in the day time of her own kingdom but still had the ability to raise the moon, that would lead to her taking the night shift when he ruled with her sister. Then the whole thing where she gets jealous and we all know the story from there. It’s possible!

Why is Flurry Heart in the thumbnail? Could it be the alicorn is Flurry Heart in the future and Twilight went back in time and put the book in the past so people know what happens in the future hoping she can change the past?
Her backstory is she was found by a bush by her adoptive parents and she spreaded love and friendship to everyone that she met. But then a jealous unicorn came along and she defeated the unicorn by not fighting her but showing her how to spread love to others instead of being jealous of her, by making new magic she became an alicorn by earning her horn and met celestia taking her in as her loyal niece. It’s a video on UA-cam but this isn’t confirmed to be canon it’s just a theory! Not my theory btw)
