That is quite interesting. I am thinking I might use it on a small steam engine (5/16ths bore probably 1/2 stroke) and a multitube vertical boiler of 2 1/2" diameter. Just need to do the maths.
Wow! This is a very clever valve gear design. Interesting that it is connected to the main rod and uses a guide for the direction of valve. Excellent Video. Is it modified because of the connecteion with the valve gear to the main rod?
minecraftboy747 Ha ha, no actually, I'm not. At least I don't have the degree. ;) Also, this is my new channel and username; my old channel was stolen from me by the "Google +" buyout garbage. Hope to be posting some of my new stuff here soon!
Sorry for the delayed response, I made the rim of the flywheel out of regular 4'' PVC pipe. I just cut the width that I wanted, sanded the cut sides smooth, measured out the hole spacing and spray painted it.
I'm sure Business Management will serve you very well. As for the model, it will not be aesthetically polished as the last one. Mechanically, I can only be hopeful. As usual starting our small farm, church, family, and job will put a squeeze on build time. I check in here when I can. I look forward to what you will do next. PK
I'll have to correct you there, arguably his best use for them was on the A3s. Castles used 2 sets of internal walschearts, with levers extending from the valve spindles of the internal 2 cylinders, operating the outer cylinders 180 degrees out of phase with the corresponding inside cylinder. Though I can see why you saw that, it does look like conjugated from the outside, but If you look closely, you'll see the inner cylinders right up at the front of the loco! I'll find a link.
You are very welcome! Thanks for sharing my engine, a special one for me. A week off! Nice. I figured an engineering degree. I'm working on Gresley. I'm sure you know it. Need to install the cylinders from my 2009 Walschaerts and from my Baker. They're easily interchanged. It will use Baker on the outsides because they give nearly the same events as Walschaerts and no need for curved link. I don't know if it will work. If it does - perhaps more conjugation. Also I plan on gearless right drive.
Beautiful! It's great to see you are still bringing us some unique designs. I never heard of Brown. Can you explain what is modified? If I may ask; what are you studying? I hope to have a new engine soon. It will be a three cylinder design. I do not know if it will work so... we will see. Great job once again. Regards
Nice! I've always wondered if this arrangment is possible on vacuum engines, because I was afraid of vibration (it a lot of plastics moving in phase together!).
This is not Joy valve Gear! Its more related to hackworth, but without an eccentric. Most probably this type of valve gear suffers with unequal valve events in forward and reverse gear. David Joy used a correcting link toevoegen het even valve travel in forward and reverse gear.

This is brilliant!
I like the look of the engine as much as the fuctionality. Very well done!
Can you tell us how it's made
Exceptionally good work! I love that big flywheel. That's my kind of engine, long stroke and rod, with a huge flywheel to top it off.
Where did you get the fly wheel?
Can you make a tutorial for the valve gear please I’m very confused trying to make one😂
Congratulations, absolutely well done and it works fine. Good luck for your graduation, Harald
Looking forward to your secret video! There is a Musgrave NDC in Bolton's Steam Museum (with Corliss valve gear) - it's one of my next projects.
Wow. I can't be bothered to use valve gear...

And it just like the real steam you must be can make a steam locomotive next year
Just found your channel. Love it!
What a horrible sound in the background
That is so mamazing it can go forward or backward
Dude you should use a wheel as a seal on the vacuum
Vaccum engine is nonsense...
You should take out the audio and narrate these.
what about it is modified?
Any lego stirling engines?
Is there any tutorial?
My fucking ears
Are you a mechanical engineer?

Sure
If lego selling tee's kits I wanna buy 1 !
Lego can learn from you!
Thumbs up!
Love it bro! Keep up the good work
I love the simplicity in this valvegear design.
Brilliant

how do you make/get a piston!?
Interesting valve gear, I like the intake and especially the flywheel
Wow!! You have the best flywheel :O , what i ever seen :D LIKE!!
its actually a joy's valve gear, but still pretty nice

What is the bit for the large fly wheel I've been wanting to make something like this.
The Jedi Train Spotter The flywheel is PVC.
Confusing Cube
Cheers
That's cool man
Will it melt
?
Tomynom Games Because of what?
hey you copyed my idea
you just have world of tanks videos
@@themechbuilder6171 that's 2 years ago lol I used to make lego videos a lot then I deleted it for minecraft and world of tanks video
