Thank you so much for the shoutout Tina!! Ahh I was smiling so much, you are so so sweet ♥︎ Both these videos were so helpful, I especially loved when you were talking about being the author of your life. Your wise words always seem to come to me right when I need them! Also, you mentioned in part 1 that you want to be an English teacher and as soon as you said that I thought YES! You are going to make the best english teacher ever, the one I always wished I had! It made me so happy to hear :) Much love ♥︎
Oooooh my goodness, you saying the sort of new agey "mandate" of daily habits feels so masculine just blew me away. I always knew there was something that felt off in that ideal to me..True lightbulb moment and i haven't even gotten five minutes in. 🙏🏼 Better go grab my journal... 🙌🏼😚
Jessica Fry I've heard it said that masculine energy is about achieving, processes ,and success. The magic of feminine energy is rooted in creativity, and deep intuition. Everyone has a balance of both.
Hi everyone! Thank you SOOO much for all of these juicy questions! I had such a blast making this video and please let me know if you have other questions down below
Thank you for these lovely videos! Please make more Q&A videos! I would also love to know more about how you journal to heal yourself. I feel that most of my journaling is too shallow and mostly about what I do in a day. How can you write to dig deep into your mind and soul?
Awesome awesome videos! I am in LOVE! And so grateful to have come across your videos! I used to journal a lot before and for the past 2 years I've not been doing them so consistently. So the question about consistency resonated the most! It's not that I want to journal daily. It's that I don't journal when it's really needed. When I have a really bad day or a good one, and when I have too many thoughts and emotions, during those times, I know I should write them down, but I don't. And it all just stays inside. That's what I need to get over with.
Overall Adventures im a newbie with this journaling thing and u inspired me soooo much...i would love to no how u should format yr journal entries and how long journal entries should b
I love to see how passionate you are about journaling! It keeps me motivated to keep my own journal. Yes, please do a video on healing and journaling! I know journaling has definitely helped me through rough times.
You talk with intricate words and meaning and I love the softness of it, it is calming, soothing and meditative. You made me want to journal; before I was forced to journal at school, we had writing prompts that had no meaning and after watching you I got an extra composition notebook. Now I journal about my day and it's funny to watch your videos and see how you've transitioned with your high school journals to your college journals and I'm going to be a senior in high school and I write about every little part of my day like you used to. I hope I become an avid journaler like you!!! You inspire me so much!!!! I have also started to paint because of you, I'm not good at it at all, they're all crap, but it's really fun and helps me relax. You inspire me so much and I love your videos!!!!! Love you!!
no, thank you!! I know lots of people had told you this, but you're such a beautiful human being, like you're so pretty but also so kind and humble and lovely, thanks for sharing your opiniong with us!!!
Ugh, you have so eloquently articulated my feelings about why journaling is so healing! Making my soul and thoughts and feelings tangible; yes! Thank you!
Agreed! There is a cycle but sometimes it's lazy too...haha when I don't do art I realize that I have a deadline coming and then I need to. This is right now and I think those deadlines, strangely enough, force me to work. I do work well with deadlines but sometimes they can be deadlines that I've given myself too...
Had to comment again because this was such a moving video... 💕💕 I actually had to pause to really go get my journal because there was so much I related to and wanted to document from this, especially your personal self-discovery answers. So gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your radiant soul with us.
I'm a new subscriber and I loved this Q&A! It really helped me see that I don't need to be perfect and that I don't need to write about the mundane day to day of being a SAHM. I've been struggling to even start journaling as I have been self-negative about it. Like what are you even going to say? Don't bother. So, again, thank you for the inspiring words ❤️
You are so incredibly inspiring, Tina!!! Your 2014 journal video is one of my top 10 favorite videos and I'm so grateful that I've found you and your videos.
Wow, this was so refreshing. As a writer, you always read/hear that you need to write every day or you're not a writer...I write in bursts...so yeah...
I'm a new subscriber. I've been watching your videos most of the day! I've bought and started many journals over the years but always end up going nowhere. None the less I keep trying. Watching your video's makes me think maybe I just didn't know how. I definitely did the 'my life's too boring" deal and only writing angst. After watching your videos, though, I've found new perspectives and I'm going to give it another go. I made myself a new journal and I'm ready to find my peace in pages! Good luck with your art journalling....this I do have experience with and as you said about journalling "it's not about perfection" holds true for art journalling as well. Just get messy and enjoy the fun! Thank you for all you've shared!
hi tina im watching this in 2019. this video is like a fresh breath of air. love your channel, im gona buy a notebook asap cant wait to start writing for the first time.
Hi Tina! I just found your channel but you have helped me decide to start journaling. In October 2016 at the age of 47 I was diagnosed with Early Onset Parkinson Disease. I'm still coming to terms with that and trying to make changes in my life for my over all health and mental well being.... I'm thinking I will get the notebook that you are holding and try to keep up with it. You never know until you try right??!!
Hi Tina, do you write morning pages in your journal or write them in a separate notebook ? Do you find Morning pages that your writing voice is different than your regular journaling voice ?
Love what you said about making your heart tangible! I think I’ve been looking for just how to say that! Lol thanks! Also I love your pup! Got one myself that hogs my bed and is the best snuggler!
About the art journal perfectionism thing, I see an art journal as messy. I think messy is art. So my journal, your journal, they are messy, they are art. The words, feelings, thoughts and experiences makes art and I think it's beautiful. Well that's my opinion anyways.
It's almost midnight so my brain is not working properly to comment about how much I love this video (not a English speaker, my bad), but as I watch this I need to say: TINA OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Thank you for being such an inspiring person 💕💕💕
I hope this makes sense but I worry about when I die and people read my journal and I've left not so good thoughts about family or friends. How can I overcome this? I'm afraid to write certain things
If it helps, I can answer this from the perspective of someone who read someone else's journals after they died. It was my grandmother's journals, and she'd written every day in a couple of notebooks when I was around 10 to 12 years old. I read them around 6 months after her death: she was someone i loved dearly and who was very influential in my life (in fact, still is). Her journals were extremely critical of the people around her, not her family but the village that she lived in, and in one sense painted her in a more negative light, in that she came across as extremely judgemental, and at times could be quite vitriolic about people. Having said that, however, I felt that I came to terms with the woman that she was: it served to give me a much more rounded picture of HER, rather than my grandmother, I understood the place she came from and why she reacted in that way to those people and in some ways it actually made me relieved because it showed me that she was a human being, and not perfect. And yes, I read things about myself in there, there were other times when her (negative) opinion of me and the way i was living my life was relayed to me by a family member who was behaving very badly which upset me deeply at the time, but as I said I came to understand why she thought that way - she was basically a product of her time, her generation, and we saw things differently. Her opinions and mine did not mean we didn't love each other, and THAT is what remains central in my mind: her love for me, and the rest of her family, and if she was occasionally spiteful in her journal about other people, well... c'est la vie. she was human, not a saint. :) I hope that helps you see it from a different perspective.
I have to say, I spend half your videos watching her... she's so adorably cute! and then i rewind to actually read the subtitles of what you're saying (I'm deaf you see)... :D
I love your sleepy co-star always in the background ❤

I want to embody the spirit of your dog - To relax on a fluffy bed with zero care while you spread your inspiration.
I can't imagine myself not writing / journaling. I've kept one my entire writing life.

Thanks for referring Jordan Clark. I am always looking for more inspiration!
Oh and I'm a lefty too! Finding notebooks without a coil and that lay flat is definitely challenging!! I understand your pain friend! 😂
