- In this action pack fishing video I’m fishing Wilson lake below Wheeler dam on the Tennessee River. The fish are biting like crazy !! Smallmouth bass,Spotted bass,largemouth bass and many other species of fish swim in these waters. Wilson lake is famous for one particular fish and anglers travel from across the country to catch these fish. The fishing bait were using is all natural.

Love you all. Thought I was about to meet my maker in this spot. Summer storm with a super strong west wind following. Every one left but me. When I left the dam water below the towers the waves were breaking over the front of my 17 ft boat. The hole where the landing is, was such a relief. Learned my lesson that day. Stay safe and as Ronnie says GOD BLESS.

I’m with you on how rough that water can get there. I did the same thing I almost sunk my boat there a few years ago . That part of the river can get extremely dangerous 🎣🎣

I grew up fishing below Wheeler, Wilson and Pickwick … we fished from Guntersville to Clifton TN on the Tennessee River throughout the years. I have moved away now but have always wanted to go back… I still believe the next possible world record Smallmouth Bass may be caught below Wheeler, Wilson or Pickwick…just my thoughts… great video guys.
Possibly up in Cotaco Creek (Wheeler). I've missed some good bites and caught some some good largemouth, white bass and catfish in there. There has to be big smallmouth in there. I love fishing that creek.

When you showed it was 1:35 I said to myself no way they are packing it in! Not many folks would leave a bite like that to get fresh bait. Ya'll don't mess around. That was a pretty throw you made with the net. I get a kick out of the bait catching part of the video. It would seem like the bass would be in there chomping on those baits but obviously the way ya'll were slaying them they are in the deeper water.

Rocky where did you find bait at? I fish Wilson a lot and would like to know a couple of spots to look for bait. I usually put in at Alloy rv boat ramp

We caught the bait were we put the boat in at the dam. That’s the only place I know to catch at Wilson.
I usually buy golden sinners when I go Wilson to make sure I got bait to fish with 🎣🎣
@RockyDrakeOutdoors I used to fish Saturday night tourneys there back in the day so I recognized the spot. That was before I started fishing with live bait which I have only been doing for about two years now and love it and contribute 100% of what I know to you Ronnie and Richard. Thanks for the learning and I hope I get to meet and fish with you guys sometime. I built my own bait tank I would like to show off. I live in muscle shoals so holler at me sometime. Thanks for everything.
