@3:45, the lantern pilot gets lantern of insight from saga trigger. However, there is currently a dauthi voidwalker on board. I think it was probably better to get a needle, naming voidwalker.
@3:47, we can see the bottom of the lantern pilot's deck, and we can spot the one ring. I think that this card does not belong in the main of the lantern deck, as it directly conflicts with how the deck is intended to function.
@4:09, the lantern pilot has a kgc in hand and can see a thoughtseize on top of the opponent’s library. They should be able to predict that this is not great for them, since the opponent could cast thoughtseize, take kgc, then cast the kgc with dauthi voidwalker. The lantern pilot should probably have shuffled their opponent’s library in order to avoid this. Instead, they let this play out. Since they are on what appears to be a tron variant of lantern, this strongly implies that they simply do not have a good answer for kgc.
@6:25, the scam player forgets that they haven’t plus’d kgc this turn. They have a lightning bolt in hand. They should plus kgc, targeting ensnaring bridge, and then bolt the bridge. This is particularly important to do before the lantern pilot gets the third land needed in order to copy bridge with mycosynth gardens in response.
@6:40, the scam player plus kgc with no targets. Again, they should have used this plus to kill bridge with bolt. They could have also plus kgc on welding jar to kill it outright.
@7:50, the scam player plays liliana of the veil, plus, then discard the bolt. Again, they should have plus kgc on bridge. They then could use either lotv or bolt to kill bridge (or force the lantern pilot to use gardens to make a copy).
@8:45, we see the lantern pilot search for saga. In doing so, we see a chalice of the void on the bottom of their deck. Just like the one ring, having chalice in the list is a questionable decision. The lantern pilot searches for another lantern with their saga. This does nothing for them, due to kgc and lotv being in play. It seems very likely that the lantern pilot simply does not have an answer to remove kgc, but they could have at least grabbed a pithing needle to shut down lotv (unless they just don’t have one in the deck, which would also be a questionable decision)).
@9:13, the scam pilot uses lotv to make the lantern pilot sacrifice a creature. This is meaningless in the context of the game at this point, as just plus on lotv until they can ult (and keep lotv in play) will inevitably win them the game.
@15:30, the lantern pilot forgets their bauble trigger to draw an extra card.
throughout the second game, we can see exactly why cards like kgc and the one ring do not help the deck function as intended. I think this is a great demonstration showing that simply including cards that are considered powerful into a deck does not somehow immediately mean that the deck is powerful.
