MS Dhoni Youngster - before being captain cool - महेंद्र सिंह धोनी - कैप्टन कूल बनने से पहले

This is a very old special interview with the legendary Indian cricketer and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni aka MS Dhoni just before the 2007 cricket World Cup before he was anointed to be the captain of the Indian cricket team. He had long hair, he was yet to become the captain cool and establish his spot in the playing eleven. He was perhaps yet to meet his wife Sakshi Dhoni. He was then known as the most promising wicket keeping batsman who could hit big sixes and take the game away from the opposition. Born to Pan Singh Dhoni and Devaki Devi he was determined to make his mark in the cricketing world and was fully supported by his sister Jayanti Gupta and brother Narendra Singh Dhoni. In this interview he comes across as a young confident legend in making who has clarity of thought and simplicity in candour. Mahi went on to play over 500 games for India.
NDTV के पत्रकार रह चुके चिन्मय भावे के साथ महेंद्र सिंह धोनी की ये खास बातचीत काफी पुरानी है. 2007 में क्रिकेट वर्ल्ड कप से पहले ये साक्षात्कार हुआ. जब माही अपने आप को एक युवा आक्रामक विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज के रूप में साबित तो कर चुके थे लेकिन टीम इण्डिया में अपनी जगह बनाने से कुछ कदम अभी दूर थे. कॅप्टन कूल की हैसियत अभी उन्हें प्राप्त नहीं हुई थी. कुछ महिनों के बाद जब दक्षिण अफ्रीका में माही ने भारत की टी20 वर्ल्ड कप में अगुवाई की और देश को कप जिताया तब जाकर उन्हें कप्तानी का जिम्मा सौंपा गया. इस बातचीत में धोनी बेबाक, सीधी और सटीक बात करते हुए पूरी तरह से आश्वस्त युवा प्रतिभा की छवि में नज़र आते हैं
