In the end of 90s and in the early 2000s, when ever anyone bought a new music system for home or if they fitted a costly stereo system in their car, the first album they played was "Gupt" film music. Gupt with its techno music was sensational.
Viju Shah was ahead of the times.
By then AR.Rahman's Rangeela too had made a splash. That era was truly sensational when it came to songs.
Even Aar ya Paar was also not Noticed......Keep giving Glorious tracks Viju sir. ❤

Viju Shah is my most favorite composers of all times.. the music and background scores by him have been iconic... I recently fell in love with the song - Chand Ho Ya Na Ho... I consider it safely one of the best songs of Sonu Nigam too, that's one song with so much energy without the nervous vebratos that is synonymous with Sonu Nigam Ji... High on energy yet sung with so much calmness, only a genius composer can create such a masterpiece.
I wish Viju Shah Ji produces more music for today's movies. Great interview and the interviewer is so well spoken and well prepared.
Spot on. Chand ho ya na ho is such a gem but criminally underrated and so was Ye Pyasi Mohabbat from Gupt. Hauntingly beautiful. Many critics call it the best song of the album.

GUPT theater DOLBY experience is another level.
I have heard a lot about it but can't find the DvD or anywhere online or on OTT, on OTT it is not in Dolby but in mono audio, any idea where I can watch this in Dolby?
I have the DVD. The dolby digital sound mix was quite aggressive. I got to see the movie in it's original DTS mix and it was an aural treat.

Who disliked gupt music first? I got shocked and thrilled when i heard the songs for first time..i realized that hindi music is not behind ar Rahman songs of that era

What a coincidence just now I heard Tu Chees badi hai , then this pops out, actually he is ahead of his time, Gupt is still fresh, I remember Rahman come with Rangeela it's a blast , then Viju Shah comes with Gupt that was something else, how can we forget Mohra, Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan.

Yes I was too shocked to know that. We can say he got inspired and made good songs out of them.. just like Anu Malik with few and also failed with many. Infact RD burman also got inspired for some songs..
