@@BeukieGaming I think what we same weapon wise in order (I did way to much pausing): Double swords (Katana+Wakizashi) this is referred to as daisho. At the end we saw what I think was a fire imbued Nodachi (two handed katana, very long, also thicker), a Kusarigama (sickle and chain) and the gun is i believe an arquebus which was in use in japan around that time. I am also hoping for a Naginata (a polearm with a blade at the end) and the Yari (kind of like a spear/trident hybrid, but different) which were common amongst female warriors in japan. I am pretty sure we will get the naginata, the yari is a bit more obscure. I also think the wind may not be guiding us, but our furry friend. The wolf looks to be a japanese honshu wolf which are sadly extinct. There is a sort of spirit animal connection with these wolves. And they show a closeup of the tsuba on her katana (the hilt/handguard) and its two wolf heads circling around the handle. I can see this dog working as a sort of a guiding wind variation. But they could just as easily keep the wind and the wolf is just a animal companion.

Quite a big jump in years from Ghost of Tsushima which was set in 1247, 300 years later, so Jin is long gone 😅😢 I wonder if they’re gonna do the entire Island of Hokkaido obviously much more scaled down, or have just a little section of it, either one doesn’t matter! But I seriously cannot wait for this game!!!
That is a good question, maybe they'll keep some of it for a DLC so that you unlock it later on? Not sure! Let's hope the map is huge cause I want this game to be endless hahaha!

This halfway fulfilled my wish for a sequel, because I actually wished for a young Lady Masako game and how she ended up becoming SO BADASS. Her family story also could use a deeper dive, to see her falling out with her sister. Would have been so cool, but we got a female samurai, which is okay by me. Already excited, and for the new locale. I still get goosebumps every time I see that shot of her in the foot of Mt. Yotei and running on the vast grassland among the wild horses. And her standing in front of the inn or restaurant. SO THEMATIC. That traditional Western music too but with an Asian twist using shamisen instead of a guitar really hits hard. Everything in this trailer is already hitting harder than anything assassin's creed shadows could muster up.
Oh a Lady Masako game would have been really cool! She was a true badass and I loved hearing about her secret love and life too. But in a way I feel like Ghost of Tsushima rounded off the Tales of the side characters so perfectly, leaving you wanting more but still satisfied and touched by what you were told, able to connect the dots. I think a female samurai will be such an interesting new dynamic to the game.
The slight nod to the wolf, before they both turn to face the future is an awesome moment here, As to the naysayers so far as female protagonist. To me the the opening speech implies she is a sword fighter, not samurai, not ronin, and she is out for revenge of some wrong, which the man who speaks, states pretty plainly . It makes me think of many films with female leads - but firstly the 1972-1973 classic manga, and movie of revenge - Lady Snowblood - a great story. I look as forward to this game as I did the original. It looks excellent.

I feel you, Ghost Of Tsushima resonated with me in so many levels, an emotional voyage... having lost my father in 2007, playing a game where the character is guided by his father in form of wind... I feel that my father still guides me too in some way or another... Watching this new trailer took me back and I literally had chills watching it, I cannot wait to play it, it looks beautiful... So the second Katana is probably a nod to Miyamoto Musashi, very likely the most famous and decorated Samurai to have ever lived, he fought with two katanas and I believe is the only samurai to have done so successfully. He fought in single combat over 60 times allegedly and never lost. He lived during the time period the game is set in, 1600s and fought in the battle of Sekigahara, both the largest and probably the most important war to have ever been fought in Japan. Anyway, you ask who's stories this game will tell, I'm thinking Musashi might play a prominent role in the game, here's hoping he does, super exciting stuff. 1600s is also around the time period that Japan starts to get pretty heavily influenced by western cultures and religions, hence the presence of a gun in the trailer. So we could get some interesting story lines out of that also. Really excellent period of Japanese history to base a game around anyway, already I can think of so many cool avenues SP can go down with the story. SOO SOO EXCITED. 2025 can't come soon enough. Also.. that music is incredible.
I love that the soundtrack is still different from Ghost of Tsushima but you still recognise it in there. All the Musashi lore is making me sooo excited! He is certainly the most famous, thanks to his philosophy and undefeated records in deathly duels. Musashi would be only 19 years in 1603 though. My fancast though, I wish Mackenyu could play him one day (voice, modeled and mocap). Zoro from One Piece LA. 2)Personally the most decorated samurai is honestly the living legend, the (underrated) legendary Sengoku warlord, Honda Tadakatsu. He is one of the Four Heavenly Kings (Shitennō), and guardians of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Respected as The Greatest Samurai of the East. Tadakatsu was described as tall, charismatic, powerful with “frightening strength and spirit.” Known as “The Warrior Who Surpasses 1000 Men!” Highest Japanese idiom given to a samurai. Tadakatsu's reputation was such that he attracted the attention of the most influential figures in Japan at the time. Like Oda Nobunaga the Demon King of the Sixth Heaven notoriously disinclined to praise his contemporary…could not help but praise and admire Tadakatsu. And Honda was claimed to be the greatest warrior on earth. He earned the famous and catchy title “The Immortal Samurai who defied and surpassed death itself". He would be 55 years old in 1603. Personally if Honda was in the game, I would have liked Kazuki Kitamura or either Hiroshi Abe from (Thermae Romae 2012) to played, modeled and mocap.

Hey Lauren! The reaction vid was worth the wait! Did you ever play the DLC, Iki Island, I can't recall? So much more backstory for Jin. Might be worth it! I started watching @Skyytea with her new blind playthrough of GoT. It got me really itching to play again, so I'm currently replaying the game on Lethal, having my a** handed to me! Lol. Can not wait for Ghost of Yōtei!!!! First time I get to play the Sangen, (the instrument on her back), to change the weather is going to give me joy! I have no doubt they chose a female lead for this one because so many people wanted more from Yuna in the first game! Everyone loved her! I know I did!
Hehe I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it! It was all genuine. This game just moves something in me like no other game ever has. So I started playing the DLC but never actually finished it! I was thinking of maybe playing through the PC version (which I bought cause I need this on every platform clearly), and then play the director's cut on there. Cause I heard the story is quite good too!!! I remember it being harder than the main game so I think I'd have to get into it again first so I don't fail massively! xD I can't wait either!!! During the edit I noticed her instrument as well and was like OMG that's going to be like Jin's flute! I'm honestly also so happy to see a badass female protagonist. I'm sure she will do it justice. All the women in Ghost of Tsushima had incredible stories so I can't wait to see what her story is!!!!

Yes they confirmed it would be an "underdog vengeance" story! So I'm wondering what it would be.... since she's wearing a straw hat (could be a disguise) and is being hunted by ronin. Maybe she offended her own people? Would be interesting to see what route they take!

There is no way they will do that. Ghost 3 will be another protagonsit in a new place. They have already said the games are origin stories about different people becoming the ghost.
In ancient Japan, women traditionally remained at home. Taking on the roles of caregivers and homemakers, nurturing their children and managing the household, while men were called to battle during times of war. I can't relate with a female protagonist. The same way i won't be able to relate with female UFC fighter fighting with male UFC fighters. She'd buried in real life.
In ancient Japan, men and women were traditionally farmers and both stayed at home. That is what the vast majority of people were. By this standard, you couldn't relate to Jin. Further, of the Japanese women who did fight, they were feared throughout the land for their prowess and ruthlessness.
You do realise that there were also badass female warriors in Ghost of Tsushima right? Tomoe was literally based on a real, famous female warrior from Japan. If you'd just taken 2 seconds to Google some facts about this topic you'd be overloaded with a bunch of information about female Japanese warriors who fought alongside the samurai and the famous ones. You've conveniently forgotten Yuna, Lady Masako and Tomoe when it comes to female warrior characters from Japan. Please before you write comments like this, do your research. Because it is literally all nonsense. The main character's gender will literally not affect the story whatsoever. This is such a weird, small-minded mindset to me ahah I will literally never understand? Also, because you're talking about current events between "men and women" when it comes to fighting. I do fencing. When I train I train against both men and women. I've fought men twice my size with my blade and beaten them by a LOT. This literally doesn't say anything. Sometimes it doesn't matter how big or strong your opponent is. Sometimes it's about technique and how fast you are. But I guess you wouldn't know a lot about that, considering you wrote your comment upon no facts whatsoever?
Watching this after knowing how hard the "anti-woke" crowd is going in on this game has been both sad and.. kinda funny. Sad because, well, people are just straight-up openly hating it because the character's a woman, but also funny because, just like with the GTA6 outrage, more normal people are gonna realize how ridiculous the anti-wokes are and always were lmao, another Starfield pronouns moment would be a nice little cherry on top. Having said that, people are talking about Jin becoming a myth by the time this game takes place, but fun fact, Jin's pretty much a representation of a storm that in real life stopped the Mongols from getting into mainland Japan, so he actually might be referenced like that!
This is truly the year of women in games and it's making my heart sing to finally see the representation. It's also funny how this wasn't an issue with characters like Lara Croft... I wonder why... I honestly don't care. I'm just getting tired of the word "woke" lol! Like... women exist, shocker!!!! Women do cool shit too, shocker!!!! Either way, I can tell ya right now, it's mostly a sociopolitical movement that's latched onto games as opposed to a movement by gamers. On a more positive note though, while this crowd is also complaining about the actor portraying the Yotei MC, Erika Ishii, I'd say they're pretty damn cool, you should check em out lol

Woke of Tsushima doesn't sound like such a great idea. They hired a horrible activist to play the main character. They should have just gone with Jin or made a game based on the 2nd time Tsushima was invaded. SONY won't be getting my purchase on this one, and if it comes out that Sweet Baby Stink was involved, it's GAME OVER man, game over!

The 2nd shorter sword is called a wakizashi, and the style of fighting that used both swords was created my Miyamoto Musashi.
the game is set in the same era when he was alive..so he might be a character in the game

Yes they said North of japan. So it will be Hokkaido japan. Or maybe one of the smaller islands around Hokkaido but i doubt it.

Personally if Honda was in the game, I would have liked Kazuki Kitamura or either Hiroshi Abe from (Thermae Romae 2012) to played, modeled and mocap.

In ancient Japan, men and women were traditionally farmers and both stayed at home. That is what the vast majority of people were. By this standard, you couldn't relate to Jin.
Further, of the Japanese women who did fight, they were feared throughout the land for their prowess and ruthlessness.
You do realise that there were also badass female warriors in Ghost of Tsushima right? Tomoe was literally based on a real, famous female warrior from Japan. If you'd just taken 2 seconds to Google some facts about this topic you'd be overloaded with a bunch of information about female Japanese warriors who fought alongside the samurai and the famous ones.
You've conveniently forgotten Yuna, Lady Masako and Tomoe when it comes to female warrior characters from Japan.
Please before you write comments like this, do your research. Because it is literally all nonsense. The main character's gender will literally not affect the story whatsoever. This is such a weird, small-minded mindset to me ahah I will literally never understand?
Also, because you're talking about current events between "men and women" when it comes to fighting. I do fencing. When I train I train against both men and women. Watching this after knowing how hard the "anti-woke" crowd is going in on this game has been both sad and.. kinda funny. Sad because, well, people are just straight-up openly hating it because the character's a woman, but also funny because, just like with the GTA6 outrage, more normal people are gonna realize how ridiculous the anti-wokes are and always were lmao, another Starfield pronouns moment would be a nice little cherry on top.
Having said that, people are talking about Jin becoming a myth by the time this game takes place, but fun fact, Jin's pretty much a representation of a storm that in real life stopped the Mongols from getting into mainland Japan, so he actually might be referenced like that!
This is truly the year of women in games and it's making my heart sing to finally see the representation. It's also funny how this wasn't an issue with characters like Lara Croft... I wonder why...

Either way, I can tell ya right now, it's mostly a sociopolitical movement that's latched onto games as opposed to a movement by gamers. Woke of Tsushima doesn't sound like such a great idea. They hired a horrible activist to play the main character.
