RIFF HACK- Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" - Verse

Good technique is all about efficiency of effort. Accomplishing the necessary work with the least possible effort. When I come up with an easier way of playing something that sounds good to my ear, I call it a "Riff Hack".
I found that the verse riff in ‪@aerosmith‬'s "Walk This Way" was challenging my students wrists. Especially those emulating the low slung guitar posture of ‪@joeperry5032‬. Using a shift to make this riff happen rather than a first or fourth finger extension can really lighten the effort.
