  • Star Trek Strange New Worlds season two returns with an Uhura focused episode. This time, the Enterprise and crew are stationed to help a massive station. Unknown to them, they're endangering a species in the process. Moralities. Danger. Zombies. The return of Hemmer! Kirk!? So much is happening in this episode, but does it mean it is a good one? Let's find out! Captain Pike doesn't cook in this one though, but we do have the return of Commander Pelia (yay...)
Thanks Paramount Studios for the review screener for the first six episodes of the season. It was much appreciated! :)

Massive apologies. This was recorded in a time crunch against a massive storm that plagued the review. It is a huge undertaking with my health to get these edited and hope you appreciate the work/effort/time that goes into this. Thank you all for the continued love and support. We will see you all VERY soon on the next SNW review ;) - Mr. Tot

Pike *had to be* a Fleet Cmdr because in “The Menagerie” Kirk said the first time he met Pike was when he was promoted to Ft. Cmdr. So they were alive to canon and acknowledged it and made it happen. Bravo!

That’s what we figured. Couldn’t remember off the top of my head!

This version of Kirk is very good. I was skeptical before but Im sold now.

Same. I think the writing with the performance has really elevated this Kirk for me. Certainly not comfortable ranking him with the others yet, however.

Happy to see Hemmer again. Hope they think of more reasons to bring him back.

Equinox is such a good version of this trope.

Love that episode even though Janeway took a very rough stance on it

Do the phasers not have a stun setting? Otherwise Uhura could've shoot Ramone.
And why did Pike not check the life signs of the clearly dead female crew mate?

Something I removed in the edit. Not sure why Uhura didn’t just stun him, but decided to try and get into a silly fist fight with him. Doesn’t make sense.

The season having Pike on the back burner due to having a kid has made for some different kind of Trek. Not lower decks and not tos. Somewhere in between in term of who it focuses on. I am enjoying it for all the character parts but especially in this epsiode the main plot was very well trodden territory of a alien we didn't know about being hurt by starfleet and then we find out and we stop doing that. Kind of boring.

Yep. It meandered. It didn’t have a focused message or use of the plot. It was weird.

I did not like the "I just said it because he was dead" joke. Really fell flat for me.

Super odd joke to make, for sure

I can watch The Next Generation and Voyager and not get bored, but for some reason I just get so bored watching this season. The last three episodes I have got bored and skipped through it. They keep talking about this Gorn stuff but never do anything with it. The characters I don't like, especially the old woman they put it to try and get comedic moments but it's just not funny, such a terrible character, the actress is great but the characters is dumb. I love the captain, spock, but that's it, the other characters I just don't care about the other characters. The show has fallen off a cliff this season, I may stop watching it if it's the same boring crap next episode. I don't want to watch star trek: relationship dramas....... Boring. They had a good opportunity to make a really good star trek show, but it's starting to show that there's no replacing Ronald D. Moore, Brannon Braga and Joe Menosky. The writers these days just can't write that good. Series one of the show was promising, but season 2 is boredom and bad.

I do have issues with season two. It lacks a lot of focus and new ideas. Lot of recycled material, even episode by episode
