Yeah I mean ur kind of a car guy since you have a mustang. These things are probably the best value sets LEGO makes. They ACTUALLY listen to the fans and give them what they want. They are also really cool if you are an enthusiast and a LEGO fan.
Speed champions is honestly one of the most unique lego car themes,That car designs is so much better than the lego technic cars, its always holds a special place in my heart,i just wish for a ucs car set for speed champions
The creator expert car series is kindve like a UCS Speed Champions line! The Mustang and Porsche 911 especially are like massive, $150 versions of these sets!
Love that you referenced Doug DeMuro for this video! Cool to see LEGO listen to the fans on this one. Hopefully this sort of dynamic translates more often into Star Wars.
@@hoglit282 Oh yeah the gulf livery ford gt and bronco also is a real nice two car set but thats way out of my budget haha. Personally i feel like the gtr is too boxy but they did what they could for that scale

It’s a real testament to that LEGO Designer’s love for his work and LEGO in general that someone who’s never gotten into Speed Champions would review a set because of them, give it a 10/10, and possible get into the theme in general 🙌
2:05 “The minifigure in the set has a FERRARI jacket.” Comparable error for car guys to the “original trilogy set” gunship from episode 2. Also did you know that the name “Countach” originated from the word “contacc”, an exclamation of astonishment (Holy shit) in the Piedmontese language.
since speed champion went to 8 wide nearly every set has been a home run. the models are amazing and WELL worth the price point. as car models they're mostly accurate and look good and they have lots and lots of very very cool building techniques and tricks to nail the looks of the real cars. Also these sets have so many good useful small pieces. Lots of SNOT bricks, 1x1 tiles and studs / plates, angled pieces, etc. The level of detail and the quality of the sets is amazing. The 8 wide speed champion sets are by far my most favorite Lego line and one of the most well made and very reasonably priced sets for the build experience, set look, and parts.
Thing I love about Speed Champions, which did help me get back into legos, is they're the right balance of size, price, you get a minifigure, and they're based on real cars.
I randomly bought this one a few days ago and I was really surprized at how fun it is to build for this amount of pieces it got (and the low price!) definitely a nice piece to have :)
THIS...is Doug DeMuro. If you know you know lol. Been a fan of his for years. Does the most in depth reviews of pretty much anything on 4 or even 6 wheels.
i really love the Speed Champions line of sets, and im also a fan of Doug Demuro so it was actually pretty awesome to see that you used his video as a reference xD. Loved the review, defo gonna pick this set up when i can! you should do more reviews of the Speed Champions sets!!
I have never bought a set from the Speed Champions theme, though I've repeatedly seen them on shelves for so many years now. That designer video made me really consider it, and I might get it if I have enough money to spare
I recently got into Speed Champions and am really looking forward to getting this set. Nice shout-out to Doug's channel too, I'm a big fan of both of your channels.
You're missing out! The 8 wide Speed Champs from the last few years have been really fun builds and nice display pieces. I personally recommend the Ferarri F8 and the Lamborghini 2 pack (if you can find it), but honestly pretty much all of them slap.
Got into speed champions cause the sets were just too cool. Plus like you said the designer looks like he genuinely enjoys it. Wish we could get someone that enthusiastic for the Star Wars designers
I’ve been begging you to do speed champions lol. As an older collector like yourself speed champions is a favorite of mine. I convince myself it’s for my son.
Wow, man. When Speed Champions started doing the 8 wide build with the Ferrari F8, I thought it'd be neat if they did the Countach, but thought it was unlikely since it was an old car and there are more modern slick cars. But to hear it was actually the most requested. Thanks, everyone. Thanks to you, we're getting a Countach.
I love this video (and the set itself) I really apprecieate the research before making and review. I love when youtubers do that because the review feels more complete and objective to me i guess. Anyway great video!
Love this set. I treated my boy to a speed champions set today. He initially wanted this then couldn't decide between this and the Nissan skyline. Glad I pursuaded him for this, its very much like the real thing in terms of looks and bits like the clear brick headlights take me back to sets from my childhood. A really iconic car that's captured well and fun to build
The Lamborghini Countach is what really inspired the modern design with sharp edges. Prior to that, Lamborghinis were more rounded like the Lamborghini Miura.
Lego should start dual molding windscreens and cockpit pieces more. If the top of the car was white plastic instead of the off color print it would be perfect.
I love the red interior, I bought one at Sam's club for $12. I bought all 4 cars they had on sale. Speed Champs are cool little kits. I've got more than a few lol. Nice review sir, thank you.👍🤙
I watched your review the other day and it totally made me want this model, then I realized it didn't come out till March 1st. Today I went to my local Walmart (which never has new sets let alone unreleased sets), and they had 1 set just sitting on the shelf!!! I grabbed it right away and this is now the first set I've had before official release and it's the first set I've purchased because of your review. I really like the set and for a small set it has some really awesome building techniques, and was really enjoyable to build. The only thing I didn't care for, and would have gladly paid more money to do without, were the stickers (15 in total). I think this set may have the most stickers of any set I've ever put together and that's saying something for a 262 piece model. Great review, I'd love to see more stuff like this, with smaller more affordable non-Star Wars sets. Great review, thanks for the suggestion.
For me, speed champions filled the void left by no more SW microfighters. Brickheadz never really grabbed me. I like have the little sets to change up a display area. Would love it if you added these sets to your reviews content. Thanks!
I’m the same way, don’t have any of the 8-stud wide Speed Champions sets. Wasn’t planning to buy any new sets unless a Mustang was coming out, but when I first saw images of this set I knew I’m picking this up when I see it.
I haven't bought a lego car in years. However, recently I've really gotten back into transformers, and now I need this set to display next to my Sideswipe and Sunstreaker!
I'm sure someone will come up with a mic they did for the other lambo I actually have it built with the flip up iconoc doors on my black lambo from last year
Ask M&R: After taking a look at the Lamborghini Countach, do you think LEGO should release a similar set once/twice a year for Star Wars? I’m talking about an 8-wide, $20 build of a Star Wars Speeder that would come with a minifig or two. I wouldn’t even care if the speeders were canonical, as long as they fit the aesthetic for Tatooine or Coruscant. That way we can still have an interesting build to populate Mocs, not get another Luke’s landspeeder, and finally release more versions of the Kubaz, Quarren, Gran, Devaronian, Ugnaught, Aqualish, Ithorians, Trandoshan, Rodian etc (all of these are existing lego molds but only tend to appear in LARGE and EXPENSIVE sets….).
He sure does wear a "Ferrari Jacket"! ;) Speed Champions is my favorite LEGO IP, so many part devellopement and intriguing building techniques with these designs. Especially with the 8 stud wide designs, that's when i started collecting them. Makes a nice display and gave me the opportunity to build a Ramp Truck and Trailer at that scale too.... so yep, great theme!
