I'm glad to see a person that master this much a sport being able to show us his weakness. Must be pretty hard to handle failure but so inspiring to see his dedication.
@Jonah Massey there was a lot of expectations on this trip. Adam was "supposed" to be able to climb this route. And as they wanted to do a full process film with a lot of insight on his feeling, it makes sense to explain what happens. And sadly some people are dumb enough to compare Adam with other climber instead of enjoying the content provided. People are so keen to criticize him because he often speaks about bad conditions but they forget that it's one of the hardest route in the world, that each climber is different and finally that condition do matter in climbing. And most of those people would not even lift a leg in a route like this one.
I agree. It would be hard to be so invested in something and not be able to do it, plus the added pressure from all of the people wanting you to do it.
@@bastouflette2552 You do know you dont have to be a chef to know if a dish tastes bad or not right? Using the excuse "Well you cant do it" or "Why dont you try" doesnt hold up in any context of a debate at all. It never has and never will. During the last try, my hands were sweating and I was sure he will send it......thanks again for sharing, especially this video quality, great work, keep it up !! Wonderful christmas to everyone !
I was rooting for him so hard that entire clip, knowing how much he's out into training for this route. Super heartbreaking to see him fall short again and again throughout this series. It'll be amazing to see him send it once he has the chance again.
While sends on hard routes are great, it is almost more inspiring to see a series of videos that show incredible effort despite frustration and without a send at the end.
Yeh it's a totally different experience to see the whole frustrating process, and not just the final send. It's also quite humbling that Adam shows us this up front, makes him vulnerable and human. And as with any vulnerability some people see it as weakness and excuses. Hat off to Adam for having the courage to put himself out there!
This seems pretty typical for climbing videos though. Maybe not. But if you only show the ascension and don't ever make it to that, then you don't have a video. This is how climbing hard routes is done: go for weeks and months to work on it and maybe you get there. He did make it another move at the end though. So, they showed progress.
@@NickRoman it’s certainly true that hard routes involve challenges and struggles. I think it’s more unusual to dedicate the same amount of time to presenting, editing, and exposing to a route that isn’t finished than one that has a more typically triumphant ending.
I think this just shows the reality of climbing. We don’t always send our projects and that’s okay. Adam is human and I’m so glad he let us in on this emotional/mental/physical journey. Props to him and this entire team!
Fascinating series, seeing the top 4 sport climbers battle against this route makes it stand out for me. Perfect blend of aesthetic line and pure difficulty.
Inspiring story, impressive focus and climbing, and superlative production quality. Very inspiring to witness the whole work and process, and not just success ! It was a pleasure to follow this whole journey. Pretty sure the whole community will be there to witness the send someday !
Thank you Adam for being an inspiration to us all, even if you don't feel it. Also to all the people working on the channel to make it this epic. No exaggeration, each video gets better and better.
This may be my favorite climbing short series of all time. To have worked that hard and not gotten it is so frustrating, beautiful, and poetic. Adam you are my favorite professional climber for your ability to show real humility. So many climbing shorts follow the story arc of 1. cool shots of moves on the route, followed by difficulties 2. humility and vulnerability for the "down moment" 3. the inevitable send. It was so beautiful that this ended with unfinished business. It feels more like real life often does.
It takes a big man with real heart to show us that failing is just part of ultimate success. Brilliant effort Adam and for the whole team working with him for this ascent. Look forward to the send
you are right but i think there were also a few other reasons first: I dont think the crew was working for free. Better upload it and get some YT money back. second: How would he explain that the series never had an ending?
I followed each video with admiration. The story of an honest invested in a great challenge is very beautiful and valuable. Congratulations on your courage and dedication and thank you for sharing your struggle with us. I believe it is the story of a man looking to climb himself.
I think you gave us all so many emotions during this trip Adam, this feeling during the last attempt was insane. Keep head up and continue to be this amazing man we all love to see climbing !

Man, I'm glad you introduced the whole crew at the end. They did an amazing job. Probably the best climbing series on UA-cam. I was shouting at the screen at home alone during the last try. And I must admit at the last fall I almost cried. Fantastic editing. And of course thanks for Adam for being a role model.
I learned more with this serie and your "failure" than all other videos of your successes ! Thanks for that ! Thanks to prove me that failure is part of success and never give up is the key.
You’re going to do this. It takes balls to release a series without having it finished first (looking at you, stefano 😄). That way you know the pressure is on and there’s no excuses.

Trying a route called Perfecto Mundo in the very imperfect world of 2020 was always just asking the gods to shoot you down! However, while the gods were concentrating on foiling the send, they dropped the ball by allowing you and your team to create some of the best climbing content ever made.
