Outstanding flying! I especially liked how you hovered in the ground effect in a very scale looking manner.

That's freakin awesome! What a beautiful bird! Looks so realistic! What is that "high pitched" wine? Is that the ducted tail rotor fan makin all that noise? Noticed it before the "mains" started up! Awesome flying! I loved the tv series & the bird itself! I had a 1/48 scale plastic model kit that I painted & put together backin the 80's when I was in high school! Love Blue Thunder & the pilot movie! Take care & have more fun at flyin it!

Servus, dank Dir vielmals. Es ist keins von beiden. Der Heckfenestron erzeugt den ganzen sound. Er wird mit einem Drehpoti am Sender ganz lansam hochgefahren und kurz vor Enddrehzahl wird auch der Hauptrotor dazu geschaltet. Schöne Grüße Andy

Servus, vielen Dank für deinen Kommentar, freut mich sehr dass er dir gefällt. Das sind zwei Bausätze, Mechanik und der Rumpf extra dazu noch viele neue tuning Teile wie Stabi+Servo, Rotorkopf+Blätter, Motor+Ritzel, Akkus. Für den Aufbau hab ich mit neuer Speziellackierung ca. 6 Monate gebraucht. Schöne Grüße!

Hi Andy, i am waiting for my Gazelle to arrive. Same principale as your Blue Thunder. I'm not sure yet wich engine i want. Must be for a 700 size. If you would start again would you still go for same engines you used in your B T. or something else? why not an Align engin? And what other things would you change to improve? Thanks

The first time I saw this w/o reading description, I thought nice turbine, but with some different sound.. I wonder why the tail rotor makes that high pitch noise, and the main rotor makes virtually no gear mesh noise? How is the tail and the main rotor actually driven? Belt, gear, direct?? Damn, no longer in production.. I bet you feel so lucky, having the last of it's kind. Where can I get something similar? I don't like to do too much building. Just don't have the skill and time. Thanks for the vid. Will share with newbies.
Hi, the Main rotor is driven by gear and the tail with a separately motor and belt. Thank you once more, i am real proud of it.
