First guy was an absolute G. The 87 Fleer Hottest stars he was trying to sell you has a Bond's rookie. It a top 3 favorite card of all time for me. Not worth $25 though maybe $10-15. Super 80's looking set.
More than a decade ago, I was in Jacksonville, Florida going through a local sports cards shop's "$5 Each or 5 for $20 box and I grabbed a Stephen Curry Rookie Jersey Patch card and a Tony Parker Gold Card, numbered out of 99. When i got home, I sleeved and top loaded each card, placed them in a three row shoe box and forgot about them for years. In 2019, I was bored and decided to go through my all my cards and I found them both and a few months ago i sold the Curry raw for $350, plus store credit for trade. I still have the Tony Parker and it's selling as high as $185 as a PSA 10. I said all that to say, this hobby keeps you so busy, that weeks, months and years can go by and you never know and/or forget the "bangers" you had sitting in your closet, garage, basement, attic or storage unit.
You taught me something new today with those MVP buy back programs! I don't collect sports cards very heavily, but that's still a great tip to look out for! Enjoy the week my man & much ❤
another great video. I love the card hunt. I am binging big time on all your videos tonite. I watch your other channel, but just realized you have this channel as well. Just wondered, aside from sports cards, what other type of cards do you look for, like old tv shows, or movies? thx
I bought a Bobby Witt Jr. blue rookie refractor for $1.00, submitted it via a group submitter in Jacksonville and it came back a PSA 10, at least two just sold for more than $100.00. I am going to hold on to it, until just before the season starts and hopefully flip it fr $150.00 or more.
They are for Topps Chrome. The buy back ends at the end of Jan. If you have any you only have a week or two left to turn it in. In a future video, you will see me go turn mine in and get some free product from it. Its a great program.
I hate flying and I fly as little as possible for my career and a lot of times, I would drive, instead. I learned a few decades ago to stay off of the interstate(unless you are in a hurry) and instead, drive the highways, as the highways and side roads go through small towns that don't get a ton of travelers and I have come across some small flea markets with far better deals than huge flea markets. Plus, I love hitting as many antique shops as possible, especially those that rent out booths to people, as I have found some MONSTER hits.
I was born and raised in Tallahassee, spent my Summers in Miami and Tampa, as a punk kid, went to Panama City Beach and Daytona Beach, during Spring Break, as a college student. I was stationed in Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida and then I lived in Orlando for 12 years, before moving back home to Tallahassee in 2013. I said all that to say this, flea markets, here in Florida are the best and I've been all over the country. I miss that feeling you got as a kid, when you went to the flea market every weekend. Even, today I greatly enjoy hitting flea markets and I will drive to Pensacola, Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Orlando when they had that huge flea market in Casselberry. I am in Tampa occasionally, where is this flea market you visited?
Back in the 70's and 80's it was nothing to go to a flea market on a Saturday morning and find multiple tables of people selling sports cards, Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels. We were sincere and authentic, but naive and inexperience to a fault, meaning we literally played with whatever we purchased or our parents reluctantly purchased, not realizing how valuable those items were going to be years down the road, had we properly protected those items.
My dad tells me stories of sticking their cards on his bicycle spokes. I can only imagine how many Mickey Mantle cards were lost to this over the years.
That’s a great question. It’s no different than going to your local card shop or card show. People do add additional items to their booths/tables each week. You don’t always find stuff but if you are willing to dig and take chances there are a lot of opportunities out there. I have did through the same box has my buddies and we all were able to find items with value.
Love the videos! Out of curiosity, what camera do you use for these vids? I've been looking into possibly getting one for when I visit shows/shops. I'm in North Central FL so maybe we'll cross paths one day!
I just watched the video a while back, when you open the box of Bowman chrome cards and got the 1/1 Ashton Jeanty signed. What did you end up doing with that card, and how much was it worth? That was crazy
I ended up sending that card to Goldin Auction house. They sent it off to PSA for grading. I’m just waiting to hear back from them on the grade. It then goes to auction after that
I haven’t found one that is a must go to for me yet. There is one in south Tampa that I heard was decent but I haven’t been to yet. KK sports cards in largo is ok. They had a bunch of wax. They had a small bargain box room but not many singles/slab on display. Unfortunately my favorite shops in Florida aren’t close by me. There are a ton of card shows where I’m at though. I go to those more than shops at the moment.
@@PickingandPunchingCardsit looks like Webster to me. It’s been awhile since I’ve been there so not 100% sure. I used to live in Spring Hill, FL when I was a kid.

This happens a lot more than people think. It’s crazy when you stop to think about it how many boxes like yours that are still forgotten.
Most people cleaned out their bangers during Covid……cards used to be cheap…….before Covid……….

I’m a huge fan of movies, tv shows, comic, wrestling, and video game cards. The more ridiculous or off the wall the better.
Those 89 pro sets at the beginning average around $50 for series 1 and $60 + for series 2 per box on ebay.

Great stuff man, I actually had no idea about that buyback program somehow - great tip Rod
It’s only for Topps Chrome and expires at the end of Jan.
You can still get the buy backs in 2025 for last season? Are they just the Topps and Topps chrome, and Bowman/Bowman Chrome from 2024 they buy back?

No, it was Webster
