Is there an update on him? He seems like a decent kid. Hope he’s doing ok.
Jennifer Blake I agree, Benjamin please do an update interview with this kid.
I’ll reach out to him this weekend.
Benjamin A Boyce (I don't know what his family is like, because I just started watching the video, and I don't even know if he discusses that. However, just in case you can't reach him this weekend, please try again. Because a lot of people will be traveling this upcoming weekend due to the holiday.)
Interview scheduled! Post questions you'd like to ask.
I'm interested in finding out about when a person starts noticing the absurdity. Is there a hard cut off point when it's blatantly obvious?
I'm noticing most of these issues where around in the 80's and 90's in Australia but have only really become main stream since the media (the late 90's and early 2000's) was usurped in the late 90's in Australia. If you go back and have a look at the 80's and 90's you will see a large amount of political comedy that was mainstream. This mostly died down after or just before 9/11 I think.
What kind of environment did he grow up in? Why was he immune to the bull dung? It seems to me that there are many more kids convinced by this stuff than not.
Interesting perspective by Kai Avé. Benjamin is giving a voice to some of the more level headed people - versus the endless footage of craziness on that campus. Loving your series, thank you.
The people that have been against the narrative of the Evergreen protesters have seemed very articulate and reasonable. I like what he said about not making different demographic a “group.” I thought his Facebook post was uncontroversial. It’s crazy how much hell he got for simply making a valid point.
Excellent answer to the question of whether these were good ideas gone wrong:
"I don't think there were good ideas to begin with."
Kai-Avé I think your very admirable for standing up to all those students and faculty in the face of abuse and threats. Good for you. Don't give up. You're awesome. You're not alone.
It's his talking about basic principles like "don't be racist and treat people as individuals" as if it is a radical, rarely heard concept instead of "yeah, common sense" which is quietly creeping me out. You can tell this kid has suffered. I hope he gets his transfer and gets the educational experience he deserves.
He sounds like a reasonable guy
Not a good trait at Evergreen. I'm so happy he's moving to another school. He's a great kid. Haven't watched to the end yet but my guess is this is why this interview was held for so long.
Rick Graham _ Just imagine how many schools and colleges are changing their conduct only to please those authoritarians. Hey,come back here when you reach the end please. I really want to know what do you think of his views about the big Daddy (government).
Gisele R. Yes, you raise a good point. But at least his views are far more reasonable than those of his peers. I think he's eventually going to recognize the treacherousness of "hate speech" laws.
[edit: as well as the other governmental overreach he doesn't yet see as dangerous as it is]
Gisele R. did you just assume it's gender?!?!?
Damn, this kid seems to have a good head on his shoulders, too bad he's surrounded by race baiting ideologues.
OMG! Benjamin. I'm so wrapped up in this since the five part mini series. I'm revisiting your expose. And fuck! This went so deep. I can't stop watching.
Who's giving legal council for this school or is George just ignoring it? The whole baseball bat thing is incredible. If someone was hurt George and other administrators may actually have faced criminal negligence charges.
Wow. Just wow. First, I hope that some alumnus from Western Washington University see's this and can write a letter in support of Kai Ave's admission to their school.
Second, Kai Ave, continue on your path of learning and growing. You have a fine mind, and it is sadly being wasted at Evergreen. Your military brat background has made you resilient and wise in ways that many people would not understand. I expect many of the commenters here will be rather harsh in their assessment of your political views. We typically tend to be a rather jaded bunch. It is the internet after all. :) IMO, your treatment at Evergreen was monstrous, and I am sorry that was your first impression of higher education. I am rooting for you.
Thirdly, Thank you Benjamin for your deep dive into this madness.
Well said. He definitely has a wider range of experience than the vast majority of Evergreen students. Being part of a military family is in itself a very educational paradigm.
What a bright young man. And a great heart. Best of luck to him.
What an excellent human being. Requesting another update on the progress of this wonderkid.
Dear Kai-Ave, even though thou art a socialist, we the people of Kekistan extend our webbed flippers to thee in solidarity against those who would oppress us. PBUK
I'm not a socialist tbh. However, thank you for the acceptance.
Praise KEK!!!
So they're protesting racism while demanding that Kai-Ave think a certain way because of his race.
Such ironic racist tyranny. These kids really don't understand what it is that makes racism so wrong - treating individuals as members of a race rather than as human beings who make their own character and have their own independent minds.
He is level headed but the authoritarian part baffles me.
D33p Prpl _ me too.
I don't know how he can remain so calm even in talking about this. I'm angry just listening.
I wish this young man all the best.
... An intelligent and well-balanced young man. And the hilarious parody-satire-lampoon that he pulled off *is constitutionally protected,* like Evergreen would even know, much less respect same.
a self-described authoritarian. at least he is honest
Does he have an Instagram? I feel like liking all his selfies just to make Jamil mad.
Hey Benjamin - A bit 'off-topic' post, but what camera are you using, please?
Your videos are always super clear and sharp, as well as informative.
It's a Lumix GH4 on open loan from my brofriend.
Thanks
Under siege from the Evergreen natives,
All your studies should be innovative:
You count up their feels,
As you're ground under heel,
So you'll live with a brain vegetative!
His repeated use of the phrase "that's not okay" was raising my eyebrow, then in the last ten minutes he confirmed that he's an authoritarian, even as the system he advocates is used against him. The lesson is that authoritarianism inevitably leads to abuse, but apparently he's a very slow learner.
Palace Of Wisdom _ I got the same impression of him.
He'll move toward the Right as time goes on. He sounds like he's where I was freshman year.
Questions for Kai-Avé:
- What is he finding different about his new school compared with Evergreen? That he likes? Dislikes?
- Is there anything about Evergreen he misses?
What a complete Bizarro world. And to think these people would LOVE to have more power over others.
Well, the interview was going good until he started talking about how communism will fix our problems. Damn, I really wanted to like this kid. Kai Ave, if you happen to read this comment, please read some books on communist/former communist countries. EVERY time it is tried, the people suffer in brutal ways - it NEVER works. Freedom is what you want, not the heel of a big government boot on your neck.
Chris Senzatimore I fully support capitalism friend. Communism is definitely not something I'd support. There's an update on the way thank you for watching.
Thank you for replying so quickly. I'm glad to read you don't see communism as a system that would help our country. Good luck to you.
I don’t think it matters what he actually supports politically. It is about us talking about it. I have a feeling he understands that what he believes in will never happen and impossible at the national level. And it is awesome that he has an opposing ideas, but he is reasonable about.
@@chrissenzatimore3769 I really wanted to like this kid? So a different opinion is a deal breaker? Interesting.
@@Afanas-zt2ml Did you read our replies to each other? We both agree that communism is not a good system to run a country on. Also, I wished him good luck for his future. I don't understand why you think I was hostile to him.
He's whiter than me and I thought I was white... I guess I was wrong.
Nevets I'm not assuming race or gender in this case! Poor confused little thing!
Wow. Glad he got out. Great work, Benjamin.
Im not sure if this guy is arguing that he is down for controlled speech but is unhappy that the current speech controlling body at his school doesn't match his optics. He has been punished in the SJW fashion and should respect it if he truly values authoritarian control. After all the controller of speech may not always share your views. But a good authoritarian respects the law of land that holds such authority (i assume).
He's got a lot more restraint than anything I could muster. If one of these twits got in my face asking me if I was going to "be respectful" when I had done nothing to be disrespectful, my answer would definitely be a disrespectful "no I won't, go eff yourself."
This guy should file a complaint with the human rights commission, or whatever you call that there in the USA. The racism he has experienced is outrageous. Beyond that, he should sue Evergreen or even join up with others to launch a class action suite.
TropicalCoder Every state has its own commission with different rules.
This kid is brave as fuck. I hope he's doing well.
My jaw dropped when he started talking about his personal political views, especially since he seems very bright and is able to recognize the hypocrisy of his opponents, but then falls short of recognizing that he would like to see the same system they advocate for implemented. His opponents could be jailed for their racism under laws he favors, but then again, so could he.
He's still young though, and bad political ideas and hypocrisy are not unknown amongst college youth.
Great Interview Thanks any updates
Pretty much lost all sympathy for the kid when he declared he was authoritarian, and especially pro-censorship.
This is a very bright kid
Hero..
He is a hero
The more innocent you (and look!) the more you are condemned.
You can probably report this to police as they broke the law. There is video. The school admin is not above the law
OMG ....there is hope ! great honest kid .
At what kind of university do students call the president "George"?
It is easy to say “I support high taxes”, until you have to pay taxes.
He mistook anarchists with libertarians. This summes up his views of the others who don't like giant governments.
he could sue the school for blatant favoritism or at least discrimination against different view points, so sad to see such a rational person put through such b.s for the administration to appease a group of radical people who don't want compromise but control.
About 21 minutes in, Kai-Ave references a video. Where can I find that?
I’m sure it’s in this video, as well as in others - you’ll have to scrub to find it as I’m on mobile and can’t pin point it: The Perks of Being a Perp at Evergreen ua-cam.com/video/cHTzWTvR7vQ/v-deo.html
What a good kid
It feels inevitable that this young man gets overwhelmed by the groupthink mind hive. He’s so nice and pleasant that he would get eaten alive when this insanity spread into society and government. 😢
I would love to see an interview with someone from the other side. An interview with Jamil A. Bee for example. Have you ever tried to reach out to them?
All my requests to interview protestors went unanswered.
@@BenjaminABoyce Thanks for the reply, Benjamin. Keep up the good work!
You can't, in good faith, call the campus protestors anarchists.
They dont have coherent social or economic views so It's hard to say what ideas they fall under. But as far as I know, it would be by association only that they could be considered anarchist.
Paying 60% of taxes and he's "okay" with that? Noope nooooope.
Sorry for the rumbling guys.
He is not an anarchist
PolyDimensionals Music _ yes, I know it. I didn't say he was, I just think that this is a way too many taxes.
hearing his story makes me so sad.
What threats did you receive in facebook by jamil? That led you to call police. Please publish the screenshot
Hope this kid is doing well,
A really interesting interview.
you know it's funny, a couple of years ago I would have said "boy what a cool kid. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders." but now I'm thinking: Sounds like another toothless moderate.
Great interview. Really liked the kid until around 50:00 when he admitted he was Authoritarian leftist socially, wanting to limit free speech and enact regulations not just economically. Intelligent kid, he'll hopefully understand one day the importance of the freedom of individuals deeply and the ramifications of that.
Wow it's outrageous they locked him down!
Deja vu?
It might be real easy to stereotype this kid before listening to his words whereas a lot of his fellow students words have pigeon-holed them into such shallow niches they can't take a dump without covering themselves in stink. Hopefully he's is at WWU doing well. Despite some of the fringy TESC type weirdness that has struck there it's still a fine institution and Bellingham is a really nice town.
Wonder if Hogg used you vids as a learning tool.
Nothing is free.
does anyone else see a resemblance to perez hilton in kai-avé? he looks like he could be his little brother!
(i do apologize for the randomness of this observation!)
It's odd that he wants big, authoritarian government handing out justice and benefits, with the only caveat that you can't organize an interest group by race.
Why? If interest groups are competing for resources from an all-powerful government, what makes organizing along racial lines an invalid strategy?
I suppose organizing by dominant hand is out, as well?
The line seems pretty arbitrary to me.
Probably the strongest groups will get most of the resources.
Just a though
That's almost certain, but that is the landscape of the game he wants to play.
He loves lobbying, which is the position of representing a group to elected officials, and he wants all kinds of authoritarian social and economic regulation. Presumably he still wishes to maintain a representative governmental structure such as democracy.
Fine, he can have his hypothetical utopia. It'll feature a viscious group dynamic that he then wants to arbitrarily regulate. Seems he is wanting to have his cake and also eat it.
This kid rocks. His calm demeanor and common sense attitude by comparison makes all those hair-trigger, whiney-bitch, pseudo-intellectual, waste-of-space students look a hundred times worse than they look on audio/video. If that's possible.
Yep im calling my rep. defund evergreen. And im a verry libral democrat.
School did him wrong. Horrifying.
Wtf? He believes in big government, and likes regulation..
Well, with how things are going in the US and UK he's dreams with the big government isn't so far way.
Kai Ave has all the reasons to be a conservative, but he is still a leftist.
What happened to this kid makes what happened to Bret and Heather look like time-out at daycare. I hope he is doing okay
Wait the college can put out no contact order like restraining order wtf.
Future Republican. Doesn’t know it yet.
Bribing politicians is fun? Is he not hearing himself?
A young man tasting power? Better than cocaine.
Bribing politicians to do good is fine. As long as you are not bribing them to do something illegal or unethical, what's the problem?
yes, he's a leftist. Just because he's a lefty doesn't mean he can't be a victim of anti-white racism, but don't expect him to change. =D
The interpretations of the words good, illegal and unethical are the obvious fucking problem. Duh. If you can "buy" your idea of a "good" thing then so can I but my "good" involves satanic worship and the sacrifice of virgin kindergarten teachers in a vat of corn oil and MDMA and I have a fuckton of money. Wanna fite?
He calls it what it is. Bribery.
is'nt it that "race " has been so central to the american mindset that some people are afraid to let it go ? It seems to me like they are advocating for racial categories , segregation and against an actual progress. It's really facinating that they target specificaly people who acheived not being racist and treat everyone equaly . It's also quite amazing that this happens in a progressve land where race seems to not be that much of an issue anymore. Interesting , I 'm not from the US , from the outside this national obssession about "race " seems really "probelmatic" ;) (in my country we banned the word from the constitution since it does'nt reflect any scientific reality and ... it's racist to classify humans into races)
This kid should look into modern day Zionists in Israel.
A lot of what he's talking about at Evergreen? He might see some scary parallels.
Lack of racism is the most racist thing ever. #Irony
He could sue the college over all this. For rascism and improper conduct.
This poor kid deserves a refund ! He is damaged goods now and a little bit confused. Hopefully he can finish his education somewhere less hostile. I threw up in my mouth a little bit watching this !
Monster
I feel bad for what this kid went through but pray he never makes i difference in the world. "Oh yeah I'm an authoritarian, no biggie..." maybe he IS a fascist after all lol.
This lobbyist kid's pro-police/military beliefs likely stem from his upbringing.
How dare he point out the hypocrisy of current race views?
The nerve, amirite
It should be a law that people can’t have political positions until they are 30.
kit sandlebar
It might not be terrible to extend that idea to include the position of "voter".
Yyy Yyy yes I agree but also they shouldn’t be allowed to at least talk about their political positions until 30. I think this kid would agree with me too being as how he is a lefty authoritarian with a “nuanced” position on freedom of speech.
Damn kids *shakes fist at sky*.
kit sandlebar
Yeah, honestly I feel like I'm in ideological free fall... I've been in the neighborhood of these goofballs at evergreen, now I'm wondering if the Macedonians were more reasonable than we give them credit for... 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂
Yyy Yyy 😹😹😹😹
(☝ ՞ਊ ՞)Bright young man!
I wish his story about the multicultural courses was unique but it's not. My university's in the middle of a cornfield and it's twice as bad as what he's described.
Oh man! I loved this kid... until about the 47 minute mark. 🤨 Dammiit! I know he'll change his mind eventually.... but I wish he liked more into his political leanings now.
Kai-Avé? Are you fucking serious?
You got another angle on the Evergreen Spring you wanna add?
Only if you have suggestions on the appropriate yield of a tactical nuclear weapon to drop on the place...
Oh damn, California is 80% hipanic ?
squireel_fight He said the school he went to was 80% Hispanic. That doesn’t sound unrealistic to me depending on where he lived in California.
Gisele R. not when I last looked.. This morning!
Where I live in California, majority is Asian: Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese. It’s hard to remember other types of people exist around here, lol. So many Asian businesses, you don’t really ever have to come across non-Asians. It’s like living in Chinatown or Little India!, but together!
nö.
This poor guy
Ben Olav Assuming gender??
He's a shill
He's just upset. Fragile ideologue I would assume.
You seem rather addicted to him, based on all your comments...
